Chapter 10 #2

“Lord please tell me this hoe is not that simple.” Bre pressed her palm into her forehead, causing Symphony to shoot her a deadly glare.

“Get the fuck out.” I pointed to the door and she looked at the three of us like I had lost my mind.

“I’m not leaving. My name is on the lease. This is my…”

“Illegally, dumb hoe. You want to debate that with those nice white people up in that office?” I cocked my head to the side and she looked at all three of us again.

Asim was the next to speak up. “She’s right.

If you presented documentation where you forged her signature to gain access to this property then you’re going to jail.

You might want to cut your losses and leave for now.

You can come back in a few days and do whatever the hell you want, but for now, I’m about to call someone to pack her things then you can have this shit and whatever she leaves in it. ”

Symphony looked at Asim first then me. I saw the fear in her eyes, which made me laugh.

“I’m not gonna touch your simple ass. Trust me, you’re already fucked up.” Bre laughed and Asim shot me a nasty look.

“You can go. She’s not gonna touch you.”

This hoe struggled to get on her feet then scaled the walls of the apartment just to be sure I didn’t get to her.

When she reached the door, she collected all the things she’d dropped after I rocked her shit and hurried out of here.

Me and Bre shared a look and burst out laughing because as upset as I was, the entire thing was hilarious.

“You’ve been waiting on that for a long time haven’t you, sis?” she asked and I shrugged. Asim’s face was tight as hell and I felt him shooting visual daggers at me.

“What?”

“That was reckless as hell, Ky.”

“So what? Both of them tried it and when I see him?—”

“You aren’t gonna do a gotdamn thing. You will let me handle him and this bullshit with her, so it doesn’t get any worse.”

His arrogant ass widened his stance and slipped his hands into his pockets, staring down at me with that sexy, commanding scowl on his face. I wanted to jump on him but had to stand my ground. My sister also wasn’t helping.

“Oh shit, he’s big mad,” she whispered from across the room in a snarky tone that had me wanting to curse her out.

“She had it coming.”

“I agree but things are different with you now. What if she finds a way to get you locked up? You have your job and your business to think about. You can’t do shit like you used to. There’s more at stake, Ky.”

“So, what was I supposed to do, let this slide?” I folded my arms across my chest and looked at his ass like he was the crazy one. Maybe he had me fucked up too.

“Nah, that’s not what I’m saying. There’s a way to do things without getting your hands dirty, baby. That’s all I’m saying. You had every right, but it needed to be handled differently.”

“I hate to admit it but he’s right, Ky. I’m glad you tagged her ass but it could get bad.”

“It won’t. I’ll handle it.” Asim kept his loaded gaze on me while responding to Bre. I smiled and eased up next to him, circling his waist with my arms.

“You’re mad?”

“That you beat her ass, no, but that you put yourself and what you’re trying to build at risk? Yes.” He kept his face tight for as long as he could but the more he stared at me I could see him breaking down until he smiled.

“Your hands are nice as hell though. Remind me to stay on your good side.” He gripped my chin and kissed me. “Last time, aight?”

“Long as you keep your women in check it will be.”

Asim groaned under his breath and stepped away from me. “She wasn’t mine and we’re not about to make this shit about me.” He handed over that look again that made me bite down on my lip, but he had his phone out, making a call.

“Ay, I need you to send someone to come change the locks at an apartment and I also need someone to camp out here for a few days to make sure the place remains empty until we’re done. Aight, bet. I’ll send you the address.”

“Okay, boss man. That’s how you’re doing it?” Bre sang from behind him. He chuckled and made the next call without answering her.

“Let me go see what my room looks like. Ol’ nasty ass been sleeping in my bed.” I rolled my eyes and crossed the room with Bre following. As I bent the corner I heard Asim telling someone he needed them to check on a potential legal issue. I was sure he meant with me but I didn’t care.

“You know you’re wrong, right?” I looked over my shoulder at Bre who was standing in the door while I snatched my closet open.

“How am I wrong?”

“Because I called you. You shouldn’t have called him. Do I even want to know how you have his number?”

When I looked over my shoulder again, she smiled widely. “No, you don’t, just know it’s about you and I’m not wrong. If he hadn’t shown up, you would probably still be beating her ass and I would have let you.” She shrugged, and when I looked at her again, we both burst out laughing.

“You’re right and you better be glad I know you love your husband or I would be beating your ass too for calling my man.”

“Girl, stop. Don’t nobody want his ugly fine ass.”

“Bre.”

“Okay fine, his gorgeous and incredibly fine ass.”

“Bre!”

“What, you want me to lie? Can’t do that, sis. That man is a whole walking caramel sin and the way he was all in boss mode was sexy as hell.”

“Give me your phone.”

“No,” she laughed hard, shaking her head. “I love my husband. You know better.”

“Hmph, I used to think I did.” I looked around my room and got pissed as hell. This hoe had her shit up in here like this was really her place.

“I can’t believe he did this.”

“Girl, yes you can. He’s a pussy. Always has been. He’s just packaged up really nice and has a little change so you ignored it. You also have a real man now, so it’s more obvious.”

I rolled my eyes but smiled. “You’re right.”

I did have a real man. Mano hadn’t been a second thought for me— and wouldn’t—past him getting his ass beat for doing this dumb shit.

Truthfully, I wasn’t even pressed about that.

I just wanted my stuff out of here and to move on with my life.

Asim never had to question where my head or my heart was because he had ownership over both and I put that on everything.
