Lucy

Ipull Leo behind me as I make my way to the bar, a giddy, excited feeling swirling through me.

And something else I don’t have the words for. Something eager and bold and brazen. And a little stupid too.

The way we’re behaving is ridiculous. We’re two friends who share an insane attraction to each other. Who both admit that we don’t want to see each other with anyone else…but we’re not going to cross that line into something more.

Because we know the second we do, it could ruin everything.

But we’re still gonna flirt and push each other’s buttons because it’s fun and exciting, and I don’t want to do this with anyone else.

We’re playing this silly little back-and-forth game where we’re touching each other, flirting with each other, calling each other “friend” like it’s a naughty word.

Yeah, it’s silly. But I don’t care. Because Leo is the only one I want—he’s the only one I care to play this dumb game with.

I think about how confused and turned off he looked when I suggested he go out with Danielle. How relieved I was when he said he wasn’t interested in her. How giddy I felt when he said he didn’t want me to be with any other guy.

How it was crystal clear in that moment, he wanted me and only me.

My tummy dips as I toss him a glance over my shoulder. He’s staring at my ass. Heat flickers up my chest and across my skin. I bite back a smile. He wants this. I want this.

And even though neither of us is ready to set fire to our friendship by jumping each other’s bones, we’re both good with flirting, with pushing the boundaries of our friendship a little and seeing what happens.

It’s a weird and crazy game, but I love playing with him. I’ll play it all night long. I’m in that perfect spot—the drunker side of tipsy where I’m not thinking much about what I should be doing, only what I want.

And I want to do a hurricane shot with Leo.

“What kind of liquor do you like?” I ask Leo.

“Tequila.” His voice is a rough growl that makes me shiver.

I order a shot of tequila and a glass of water from the bartender. I turn back to Leo, my head swimming as I take in the heat flickering in his coffee-brown eyes.

“Put me on the bartop,” I say.

He grabs my waist and hauls me up like I weigh nothing. I almost whimper at how strong he is, how he moves me with zero effort.

I spread my legs so he can stand between them. I watch his thick, stubbled throat bob as he swallows hard, holding my gaze the whole time.

Tingles climb up my chest as I stare at him. He rests his hands on my waist. He’s so close that I can feel the heat from his body skimming over me.

I hand him the tequila shot, but he shakes his head.

I frown, confused, until he tilts his head at me and says, “Spit it into my mouth.”

My jaw falls to the floor, and I gasp. I stammer for a second. “Excuse me?”

He leans closer. His face is two inches from mine. “Spit. It. In. My. Mouth.”

I sit there, my mouth hanging open, wondering for the second time if I heard him correctly. But I know I did. Even in my tipsy state, I heard him crystal clear.

Well, then. It seems like Leo is a little bit filthy. And bossy.

My clit pulses at the growl in his command. Is this what he’s like in bed? Does he like to order his girl around? Tell her what she can and can’t do? When she can or can’t come?

A whimper lingers in the back of my throat just imagining Leo in bed, ordering me around in that ridiculously sexy, bossy growl.

Without breaking eye contact, I pour the shot in my mouth. Then I grab Leo’s face with my hand and pull him closer to me. I press our lips together. We stay like that for a moment, feeling each other’s mouths. Then his hot lips part open, and I spit out tequila.

He groans as he swallows it. With his eyes on me, he licks his lips.

“So fucking good,” he growls.

My heart pounds in my chest as I lean back and look at him. I’m dizzy again, and I’m breathing hard like I’ve just run a race.

“Slap me,” he orders.

My inner thighs quiver at the roughness in his hard tone.

I pull my hand back, but before I can take a swing, he gently grabs my wrist. His eyebrow quirks up. “Don’t hold back, Luce. I like it hard.”

That whimper I’ve been holding in escapes from my lips. I sound so desperate and whiny.

The edge of his mouth tips up in a devilishly handsome half-smile. He lets go of my wrist. A second later, I slap him as hard as I can.

But because I’m small and not nearly as strong as he is, it’s not really that hard. Leo’s head barely moves.

The look in his rich, mahogany eyes is dazed, but only for a second. It focuses, and then he looks at me, that dangerously sexy grin still playing on his lips. Heat flickers in his gaze.

“How was that?” I ask.

“Hot.”

My breath catches; that ache between my legs intensifies.

I suddenly remember the glass of water I’m holding in my hand. I’m supposed to throw that in his face. But before I can, Briar runs up to me.

She’s about to say something when she notices Leo. “Oh, hey!” She smiles. “I didn’t know you’d be here.”

“I thought I’d tag along with you ladies for a bit. Hope that’s okay.”

“That’s perfect. We’re headed to another bar now. You guys ready to go?”

We nod. Leo helps me off the bartop and grabs the glass from my hand, setting it on the counter.

“I’m supposed to throw that in your face,” I say.

He grabs my hand and leads me out of the bar as we follow Briar.

“Don’t worry. You can get me wet later.”

He winks at me, and my mouth parts open in surprise. Leo is being so dirty and playful, and oh my god, it’s driving me wild in the hottest way.

I feel that pulse between my legs once again. I smile as I fixate on Leo’s broad, muscled back while he uses his massive body to push through the dense bar crowd.

I don’t know where this night with Leo is headed. All I know is that I’m happily along for the ride.
