Chapter 32
CHAPTER THIRTY-TWO
Ven
It’s go time.
We arrived in Miami a few hours ago, meeting up with our dads before heading our separate ways.
Christian is in a rental car with Luna tied up in the back—something none of us were happy about. When we voiced our concerns, our omega set us straight.
Our omega.
Even though it’s a completely inappropriate moment, my cock throbs inside my pants as my mind slips to the night before.
After our pack cuddle, the six of us cooked dinner before retiring to Luna’s nest for the night. We passed our omegas and beta around, although Christian touched no one except Luna.
I thought it would be harder than it was to integrate him into the pack since we’re still not sure if we can trust him, but it was like the last missing piece slotting into place. Something I begrudgingly admitted to Luna this morning.
She sucked my cock afterward, though, so I can’t find it in myself to regret it.
Especially since it’s true.
Knight’s dad confirmed the intel Christian provided was legit, loosening the worry still riding me.
It’s still not completely gone. How can it be when she’s alone with him as he drives her closer to the enemy’s door?
At least we’re at the back door, ready and willing to do anything we have to in order to protect our omega.
There’s a beep from my earpiece, Christian’s signal for us to head into the compound.
Assuming he’s not going to stab us in the back, we should arrive at the secret entrance to Fabian’s office as Christian arrives with Luna.
Mack makes a forward motion with his hand, and I swing the gate open. Not only wasn’t the damn thing alarmed, but it wasn’t even locked. I don’t know how the hell no one else hasn’t found this weak part of their security and exploited it.
Honestly, I’m fucking glad they haven’t, as it allows us to use it.
Checking both ways, I signal that it’s clear and Knight brushes past me, a gun in one hand and Prescott’s clasped in the other.
We tried to convince Prescott to stay behind since this isn’t anything he’s ever done before, but he refused. And really, who are we to deny him the chance at helping avenge his omega?
Prescott’s hand is sure around the pistol. He learned to shoot once he and his sister arrived in Widows Peak, so he’s not incapable of taking care of himself. We will all feel better if we keep him between us, though.
Mack darts after them, and I bring up the rear as we face the most treacherous section of breaking into the Vallejo compound—running across two miles of open land.
All it would take is one guard not being where they’re supposed to be, and our cover will be blown. I try not to think about that too hard as we hoof it across the yard with my head on a swivel.
Somehow we make it to the house undetected, and I send up a prayer of thanks—not only because we made it, but because it seems Christian isn’t going to betray us.
I’m going to have to apologize to the guy when this is all over, aren’t I?
I’m so not looking forward to that.
We press our backs to the wall at the side of the house as Knight tests the doorknob of the kitchen door.
Without turning his head, he sends us a thumbs up and another sigh of relief escapes me.
Mack moves around Prescott so he can have Knight’s back as he opens the door, and I lay a hand on the beta’s shoulder as we wait.
They step inside, and I don’t hear any shooting, so I’m not that surprised when Mack’s head pops out the open door and nods for us to join him.
“Remember to stay behind one of us at all times, Prescott,” I murmur as I corral him toward the door.
He flips me off, grumbling under his breath about overprotective alphas and omegas, which just makes me grin.
The kitchen is empty as we hurry through. The halls are quiet as we follow Christian’s directions, and I jump when another beep sounds in my ear.
Christian and Luna are pulling through the gates to the compound.
We’re right on track.
Two minutes later, the four of us slip through the door hidden in the closet beneath the stairs and follow the hallway until it ends. It looks like a dead end, but Christian says there’s a switch that will spring the bookcase that blocks the entrance open.
It’s dark in here, and we can’t chance using any light, so I’m not sure if Knight has found the switch.
When a large hand closes around mine and squeezes, another sigh leaves me.
He found it, and now all we can do is wait.
