19. Chapter Nineteen - Twisted Yearning #2
Carter’s hand slid hard against my stomach, pulling me flush against him like he needed to make a statement without using words. His cock strained visibly beneath the denim between us, throbbing against me while tension crept into his posture.
“Bree,” he said evenly, though the strain underneath it didn’t escape me. “Can’t ya see I’m tied up tonight?”
His other hand drifted lower, fingers brushing the hem of my skirt without fully slipping beneath it. The contact sent another pulse of heat through me, but the tension underneath his touch set off quieter alarms in my head.
“Girlfriend?” I asked, turning enough to look at him over my shoulder, my voice steady despite the alcohol buzzing warmly through my system.
“No,” he answered too fast. Too certain. His grip tightened against my side as he dragged me closer. “Only a stunner I know, that’s all.”
“Name’s Breeanna,” she said, eyes dragging over me slowly like she was assessing damage. “New around here?”
“Very,” I replied coolly, lifting my cup for another sip of the bitter alcohol. My free hand slipped behind me, squeezing Carter’s thigh while my nails pressed lightly into the fabric of his jeans. “Moved here this week from the U.S.”
Her lips curled with amusement before the edge beneath it turned vicious.
“See why he’s interested then. Exotic and temporary.” Her smile cut deeper the longer it stayed. “He’ll leave you dry by tomorrow. After he’s fucked you raw and moved on.”
I smiled right back, syrup-sweet while pressing harder against Carter’s erection, feeling it twitch beneath every slow roll of my hips.
“I’m not interested in dating Carter,” I said softly, letting the truth settle between us. “But that doesn’t mean I won’t enjoy him while it lasts.”
Disgust flashed across her face instantly, but underneath it sat something rawer. Hurt twisted tightly into jealousy. “So you’re a slag?”
“Sure,” I murmured, stepping closer before laying my hand lightly against her shoulder. I leaned in just enough for only her to hear me. “I’m just getting mine while he’s getting his. Why not appreciate what God gave us?”
I still had no clue what a slag was, but context clues were carrying me beautifully.
Her eyes flared. Her jaw locked tight. She slapped my hand away hard enough that the crack echoed over the music.
“What garbage did you roll in tonight, Cart?” she snapped, already turning away with exaggerated disgust. “What a waste of space.”
Her little entourage followed close behind, though their eyes lingered on the way Carter’s hands stayed planted firmly against my hips like he physically couldn’t let go.
I watched Breeanna disappear into the crowd while satisfaction curled warmly through my chest. Not because of Carter. Not because I’d “won.” Mostly because girls like her never knew what to do with someone who refused to play by the same rules they did.
“Ira.”
His voice came low from behind me, thick with embarrassment and lingering heat.
When I turned around, I caught the stiffness in his shoulders, the subtle way his gaze avoided settling fully on mine.
He was still hard against me from all the grinding, still flushed from where his mouth had been on my neck, but Bree had clearly rattled him more than he wanted to admit.
“Ah, sorry ’bout that,” he muttered, rubbing the back of his neck with the same hand that had been halfway up my shirt minutes ago. “She can be a bit full-on.”
“It doesn’t matter,” I replied breezily, even while a faint headache pulsed behind my temple. The warning sat there quietly, easy enough to ignore while my skin still burned from his hands.
I slid my arms around his shoulders again, reclaiming the space between us while pressing my hardened nipples against his chest.
“So…” I murmured, my voice warm with alcohol and confidence. “Where were we?”
He stepped back too fast, nearly stumbling into the side table beside him.
The laugh burst out of me completely unfiltered.
I bent forward slightly, clutching my chest while the sound spilled out, loud and real, fueled by the alcohol buzzing happily through my bloodstream. Carter steadied himself with a sheepish grin that somehow made the whole thing even funnier.
“Sorry,” he laughed.
“You’re alright,” I replied once I could breathe again, brushing hair from my face. “Honestly? I think it’s cute.”
“Me? Cute?” He lifted a brow, deeply offended and amused at the same time. “That’s a first.”
“You’ll find there are plenty of ways to describe you, Carter,” I said slowly, letting the words settle between us. My hand drifted lazily down his chest until my fingers brushed the bulge in his jeans.
He sucked in a sharp breath instantly.
“And I can explain some of them better…” I added softly, “…in a more secluded place, if you’d like.”
His eyes darted briefly over his shoulder like he expected someone else to interrupt us.
“I’ll, uh… there should be a room somewhere,” he muttered.
“C’mon,” I said smoothly, beer and bravado softening every word. “Lead the way.”
We slipped through the house like ghosts, weaving through sweat, perfume, laughter, and flashing lights while the music rattled through the walls around us. I could still feel Breeanna’s stare lingering somewhere behind me like static clinging to skin, but I ignored it.
Carter climbed the stairs ahead of me confidently enough, though the ache in my chest tightened again the higher we went. Because no matter how badly I wanted distraction, some part of me already understood this wasn’t the way to fix it.
I stood there for a beat, absorbing the absurdity of it.
My body still reacted despite myself, desire settling low and heavy beneath my skin.
These parties really were exactly what everyone warned about: people colliding for one reckless night before turning into stories traded around over drinks later.
And somehow, I was already slipping into the middle of it.
“C’mon,” Carter murmured behind me, his voice rough with need. “You were doin’ somethin’ real nice, love.”
I clicked the door shut behind us, the sound final enough to send another pulse of heat through me, hardening my nipples all over again. The room sat dim and overheated, sheets tangled carelessly across the bed. Something about it felt less like privacy and more like giving in.
“So,” I murmured, arching a brow as I moved farther inside, “is this where you show me a good time? Fuck me until I scream?”
His gaze dragged over me slowly, confidence settling back over him like armor slipping into place. The corner of his mouth curled.
“This is where I show off,” he said, his voice low and rough.
“Someone’s cocky,” I replied, letting one strap slide lazily from my shoulder until more skin bared beneath the dim light. The air seemed to thicken with every inch exposed. “So I just follow your lead, then?”
“Oi, don’t make me do all the graft,” he smirked, already tugging his shirt over his head and tossing it aside.
Muscle flexed easily beneath warm skin as he closed the distance between us.
His fingers hooked beneath my straps, slowly dragging the fabric down my arms until it dropped to the floor and left my breasts bare.
“Don’t tell me you were expectin’ this,” he murmured, eyes fixed on my chest while his thumbs rolled slowly over my nipples.
I threaded my fingers through his hair, tugging just enough to pull a hitch from his breathing.
“Now, why would I do that?” I whispered against his neck, my lips brushing warm skin while my teeth grazed lightly over him.
He groaned instantly, hands cupping my breasts fully now, squeezing and pinching hard enough to drag a gasp from my throat.
His grip slid lower, rough and possessive against my ass as he spread me slightly beneath his hands before turning me back toward the bed.
The mattress dipped beneath me as I landed against it, breath catching sharply.
He dragged me toward the edge, shoving my skirt higher with impatient urgency before hooking my thong aside to expose the slick heat between my thighs.
I didn’t stop him. I opened wider for him instead.
“Go on then,” he growled, fingers digging into my thighs while the other hand rubbed over my clit. “Tell me what ya want.”
His touch carried eagerness but no patience. Like he’d memorized reactions instead of learning people. I’d known guys like him before, the sort who treated sex like muscle memory rather than something intimate. But intimacy wasn’t what I came here looking for.
The thought of Culver slipped into my head anyway, sudden and sharp enough to steal my breath.
Emerald eyes. Quiet restraint. The stillness he carried everywhere.
I shoved the thought away viciously as Carter crowded closer between my legs, his cock jerking against my folds while pre-cum smeared hot between us.
He lined himself up like claiming me tonight had always been inevitable.
He stroked himself once slowly, his gaze fixed on me. “Wanna watch you.”
The words landed differently than I expected. Rough and honest enough to pull me briefly out of my own head.
“Yeah,” I whispered. “Then watch.”
I spread myself wider for him, letting my head fall back as I gave him exactly what he wanted. His eyes burned over me, greedy and hungry, and for one reckless moment, I let myself pretend this might actually be enough to drown everything else out.
