15 | The Girls Sin

I wake up to a soft knocking sound. I’m in Mac’s arms, sprawled out on his bed. We passed out after another round of sex.

Another knock, and I lift my head, realizing someone is knocking on his door. I look up to see if Mac is awake, but he’s sound asleep as soft snores are coming from him.

Another knock. I slowly slide out from his hold, and instantly, Mac rolls to his side, not waking up.

I slip on his shirt and rush to the door so they don’t wake him. Just as another knock starts, I open the door, surprising Snow, who is on the other side.

I lift my finger to my lips, showing her to be quiet. Snow looks inside and sees Mac asleep.

She smiles, waving her hand for me to come out.

I motion at my attire and whisper, “Let me get dressed.”

She nods and points to the kitchen where I smell food and coffee.

I beam, nodding.

When I go back inside the room, I start to pull on my jeans, but my belt buckle clinks, which stirs Mac. He notices I’m gone when he feels around the bed and jumps up.

Seeing I’m getting dressed, he panics. “Where are you going?” He pounces off the bed.

I laugh. “Snow was at the door. She made food and coffee. Go back to bed. I’ll be right outside.”

Mac, who’s butt-naked, pulls me to him and kisses my forehead. I place my hands on his chest, feeling his heart racing, and smile at him.

He takes a deep breath. “Fuck, I thought you were trying to escape.”

I smirk. “Nope, just hungry and in need of some coffee.”

He yawns. “Do you want me to come?”

I tap his chest. “No, I’m okay. Get some rest, you need it. I’ll climb back into bed after I eat.”

Mac nods, kissing my forehead again before climbing his glorious, godlike body back into bed and pulling the sheet up over him.

Happy, I move toward the door, balling my hair up on top of my head and into a bun.

When I open the door, the smell of bacon assaults my nose and my mouth waters. I close the door softly, and when I turn around, I see Snow, Izzy, and Ruby sitting around the table.

All three of them laugh as they hang out and eat breakfast. I look around the ample open space for any men, but no one is around.

When they notice me, Snow is the first to get up, waving for me to take a seat. I smile and make my way over to them.

“Would you like some coffee?” Izzy asks, getting up with a cup in her hand.

“Yes, please.”

Ruby grabs a plate and hands it to me once I’m seated. “Here, help yourself.”

The table is filled with so much food: eggs, bacon, hash browns, and toast.

My eyes must give away my hunger because Snow laughs. “Girl, you need to eat. Did they not feed you yesterday?”

I smile. “No, they did, but not a lot.”

We all laugh.

Izzy hands me a cup before setting hers down.

I thank her as she hands me some sugar and creamer. Once my plate is full and everyone is settled, Snow speaks up. “I’m sorry for last night. I know that was probably a lot for you.”

I chew on my food and nod with a smile.

She continues, “We were all in shock. Plus, we’re worried about your sister.”

I don’t know what to say, so I nod and sip my coffee.

Izzy chimes in, “We have many questions but don’t want to push or overwhelm you.”

“It’s okay. You can ask me anything. My sister wanted me to come find you, so I know she trusts you.”

Snow, Izzy, and Ruby look at one another before Snow speaks. “Well, I know you’ve told the men your story, but we thought it would be good to hear from you. We feel that hearing from you would probably clarify many of our questions. You know men. They suck at telling us the whole truth.”

We all laugh.

Snow’s phone dings, and she smiles when she looks at the message. “Hold on. The rest of the girls are here. I need to let them up,” Snow says, getting up and going to the elevator.

I look around the table, and she explains when Izzy notices my confusion. “Alex and Maze are coming up. Not everyone has a suite, so someone has to escort them up here. Snow is with Shy, the president. Ruby is with Quick, who is the road captain. Maze is the bartender and kind of with Tiny, the sergeant of arms. Only officers have suites up here. Everyone else uses the rooms downstairs. Gus and I stay up here sometimes in the spare suite, but only when Ruby stays here.”

Ruby starts to sing. “Cause she’s my best friend. You know she’s a real bad bitch.”

Izzy swats her, laughing. “Shut up.”

I ask, “What about Alexandria?”

Izzy answers, “Alexandria doesn’t stay here. They aren’t members. She and Maddox stay at her father’s building. That’s where pretty much everyone else has an apartment. Ruby and I have an apartment there with her daughter. Gus has one there too.”

The elevator door dings and out walks Alexandria and a woman I haven’t met yet. She smiled big when her eyes landed on me, but I could see the shocked look.

Snow introduces us, “Maze, this is Sin. Sin, this is Maze.”

Maze walks over, and I stand up, realizing all these women like to hug. I hug her and say hello.

Maze pulls back and says, “So, I hear you’re also a bartender.”

I smirk. “Bartender, mixologist, whatever.”

Her eyes widen. “Girl, you know how to throw shit and dance around making all those yummy drinks?”

I tilt my head back, laughing. “Sure can.”

Maze lights up, letting me go, and says, “Bitch, you gotta show me.”

Alexandria moves in for a quick hug, saying hello again.

Once we’re all seated and everyone has food, Snow tells me to go on with my story. We sit around eating as they all listen to the story I told the men.

Ruby asks, “Do you know Vi and Lee?”

“I know Vi knows about me. I did speak to her once on the phone. I don’t know if Lee knows about me. My sister tells me names, and I look you all up.”

Everyone’s eyeing me. I glance around and ask, “What?”

Izzy steps in, saying, “I wish we knew about you. I don’t think anyone knows about you, not even Lee.”

They all look sad, so I try to make them feel better. “That is a good thing. Ray and I weren’t even supposed to talk when I went into protective custody. We went for a few years but couldn’t do it. I needed my sister, so we devised a way to talk to each other.”

Snow yells, “Can you get a hold of her now?”

I shake my head. “No, that’s why I went looking for her in Chicago. The last thing she told me was Dexter was into something bad, and she was worried about me. Told me to come find Macon Harding at the Wolfeman MC for help.”

The girls looked around at each other. I can see they want to ask me something but don’t.

Instead, Alexandria starts talking. “I can’t believe Dexter doesn’t DJ. That is mind-boggling. I think back to when we all DJ together, and I guess you’re right. I’ve never really seen him interchange or use the soundboard.”

I take a sip of water and reply, “Yeah, he used to try to and people thought it was funny. They were a good couple at one time, but she said the lifestyle got to him. He loved the partying and fame more than her. Plus, he started getting addicted to the drugs, and that’s when things went downhill fast.”

Everyone looks shocked.

Jesus, my sister must have fooled them all.

Alexandria speaks up first. “Well, if my sister’s life was on the line, I’d fake it better than anyone. We could all see they were having problems, especially since he was never around lately.”

Ruby pushes her food around on the plate. “We’re worried about Ray. I didn’t want to say anything, and Quick’s pissed at me that I didn’t say anything, but when Ray didn’t show up in Detroit for her set, Luc got the call since he got her a spot at the festival. We’ve tried to get ahold of her several times, but no answer. Ray canceled the hotel room we had for her and Dexter. So, we thought maybe she was second-guessing coming to the Spin It Inc. label.”

“Well, I can tell you I know for a fact she was happy DJing with you all. I felt like she was finally going to break free from Dexter.”

Izzy grabs my hand. “We will find her. Luc and the Wolfeman found me. They’ll find Raydene even if she does or doesn’t want to be found.”

The door opens and a sleepy Shy walks out shirtless.

“Fuck,” I say under my breath.

The girls laugh, but it’s Maze who speaks up. “Wait till you see them dance. Talk about wetting yourself.”

Snow smacks her as she gets up to greet her man. “Want some coffee?”

Shy rubs his eyes. “What the fuck time is it, Angel?” He kisses her, and when she moves away, he smacks her ass with a smile, saying, “Christ, are we having a party up here or what?”

We all laugh when Quick emerges from around the corner with a beautiful little girl in his arms.

The little girl squirms in his arms. “Mama.”

Ruby gets up and kisses Quick before taking the little girl.

The room erupts in noise as I sit there and watch everyone move around the room. Men start to join us, and I am introduced to them as they appear.

I love all the nicknames. Izzy’s is Legs, and Gus’s is Redman. I love Gus’s Irish accent. Tiny, who is not so tiny, introduced himself before squeezing on Maze. Ruby introduced me to her baby girl, Bella, who was eating on Izzy’s lap.

Watching all these people has my heart aching. I’ve missed out on so much. It makes me miss Phoenix. I really do need to let her know where I am.

TVs are turned on, and the men move to watch sports while eating. When Mac’s door opens, my heart jumps, and I start to panic.

What do I do? Will he come to kiss me? Was Raydene up here with him before? Did he show her affection? What will everyone think?

I sit there frozen when he sets his eyes on me. Moving toward me, my heart starts to race.

Then I hear Bella scream, “Big Mac!”

Jumping off Izzy’s lap, she runs for Mac and jumps into his arms. He gives her a tickle, greeting her, and then his eyes return to me as he walks toward me.

When he reaches me, he tells Bella, “I need to set you down so I can eat.”

She says okay and goes back to Izzy. I just stare at him blankly. He chuckles and seeing him so relaxed calms me. Mac reaches down and plucks me from my seat. Only long enough for him to sit down, placing me on his lap like a fucking doll.

“Did you save me any?” he asks, tapping my nose with his index finger.

I look around the room to see everyone is watching us. I tense up, and Mac must sense it because he squeezes me. I look down at him, and he grips my face, pulling me in for a kiss. Those goddamn full luscious lips that have become my obsession.

I hear Shy chuckle and say, “Another one bites the dust,” as he walks by.

Mac breaks the kiss and flips off Shy and then smiles at me.

All the girls are now eyeing us, which makes me uncomfortable. Since I need to know the answer, I whisper into his ear, “Were you ever like this with my sister in front of these people?”

Mac turns so he can see my eyes before he answers, “Fuck no. Never like this. No one has ever been up here with me before. Ever.”

I look around again, and this time, Snow smiles big and gives me a nod. My heart races. Never?

Mac swats my ass. “I need coffee and food.”

I get up so he can move to get coffee, and once he fills his plate, he leans down and says into my ear, “Would you care if I go sit with the boys?”

I laugh, shaking my head, and tell him to go.

Once all the men are sitting around watching the TV and eating, the girls return to chatting. Bella seems to take over the group chat by asking questions. I sit back, sipping my coffee, and observe the people with whom my sister has become close.

Alexandria moved next to me when everyone was up and moving around. She grabs my arm and leans over to ask, “How are you holding up?”

I shrug. “It’s a lot to take in. I’m not used to this. I have one friend, and that’s it.”

Snow leans onto the table. “Well, you have all of us now. Get used to it, and the way my cousin looks at you, it seems you will be sticking around a lot longer.”

Maze chuckles. “Once these men get hooked…watch out. Nothing will keep them from you.”

I can’t help but blurt out, “Well, I feel weird. I mean, wasn’t Mac like this with my sister? Wasn’t she into him? Why else would she send me to find him?”

The table goes quiet. I observe all the women and shrug. “I don’t know. I haven’t been able to speak to her, and I don’t know what they were.”

I push my food around and wish I had never said anything.

Snow takes a deep breath before talking. “My cousin watched over Raydene while we were in lockdown. They became close, but nothing like this. He may have cared for her, but she had a boyfriend. She chose Dexter that night and left us all to go with him. My cousin and Ray didn’t have anything going. Nothing serious. He chose you to bring up here. He’s claimed you, not her.”

Tears fill my eyes. “Yeah, but what if she was here?”

Mac yells over his shoulder from his chair, “I would still pick you. Like I said last night.”

The girls look over, and he’s staring straight at me. Obviously, he’s been listening to our conversation.

When I don’t say anything, he sets his silverware down like he’s going to get up. “Do I need to take you back into the room and remind you how I feel about you?”

I start to laugh. Wiping my eyes, I say no, and the girls start laughing.

Izzy grabs my hand. “Your sister told you to find us because we love her and will do anything for both of you.”

I wipe away a few more tears, and Bella says, “Don’t cry.”

Smiling, I say, “It’s only good tears.”

When I peek back over at Mac, he gives me his pearly whites with a wink.

I guess that’s settled.
