23 | The Hospital Mac

“I need to be there when she wakes up!” Sin demands.

Since Raydene was taken to the hospital, I’ve been trying to calm down Sin. We repeatedly explain that she needs to stay at the clubhouse until Raydene gets into a room where we can secure it, and no one will see her.

“Doc will call once it’s okay for you to be there,” Dallas says, trying to help. “My girl will take good care of her, I promise. Lee’s the best.” Dallas beams with pride.

Sin gives him a small smile of appreciation.

Most of the girls and their men went to the hospital, and Luc and his men met them there. We know security will be taken care of, so the rest of us are here waiting for the okay.

“She’s going to be okay. We got her back,” Izzy says to the room.

I’m not sure if she’s trying to reassure us or herself that Raydene would be okay, now that we got her back.

Izzy wanted to stay back with Sin to make sure she was okay. I think Izzy’s still in shock. She told us everything she discussed with Viktoriya. Izzy believes Kirill acted on his own. Viktoriya explained that the word was we had Dominic, and that’s why she came here.

Sin keeps pacing the clubhouse as we all sit around the bar, discussing their conversation.

“We’ve got movement at Lenny’s auto body shop. Looks like they’re loading truck parts into a container,” Dallas informs us as he stares at his laptop.

Wolfe stands up. “Put that shit on the monitors. Frank told us to stay clear of him, but that doesn’t mean we can’t watch.”

We all get up and move back into the conference room. Dallas powers on the TVs. When we were hunting for Ronny, we spied on Lenny’s auto shop. That’s where we found out the Russians were involved.

Sin moves up behind me, grabbing my arm. I turn to pull her to my side, kissing the top of her head.

“I wanted to ask the other day when Steve was here, but can you explain the wall for me?” she asks, nodding to the wall.

I take her to the wall and start to explain everything that’s been going on since Alexandria was taken by Emmett and how Dominic entered our lives. We move down the row, and Sin’s eyes get bigger and bigger along the way.

“I can’t believe the girls have gone through all of this. I only knew about Izzy,” Sin says, surprised.

She moves around the wall, looking at each photo and the notes we have around them. I stand back and let her take it all in.

She points to Kirill. “I’ve seen him before. When Molly and I were taken, he visited. These two men were there as well.” She points to the two men who were involved when Izzy was taken. Mighty Mike and Bossman.

“Yeah, both were taken into custody when we rescued Izzy.”

Sin turns to me with a smile.

When she finally gets to the photo of Peshkov we just put up, she says, “They were not there the day we were rescued, only some of the buyers. Peshkov only visited a couple of times. He wasn’t there the day of the raid.”

I don’t reply, but I watch as she stares daggers at Peshkov’s photo.

Sin takes a deep breath and asks over her shoulder, “So what’s going to happen with him? Will he go back to Russia?”

I shrug. “I don’t know.” I turn to Dallas. “Do we have eyes on Peshkov?”

Not taking his eyes off his laptop, he answers, “Not since he went into the hotel.”

I move over to the table where Dallas is working and ask, “So, Peshkov and Dexter haven’t been seen since they went into the hotel? Why don’t we have eyes in there?”

No one answers.

Dallas’s phone rings.

“Darling,” he answers, seeing it’s his girl.

Dallas’s face hardens for a second but then softens when he looks over at Sin.

Standing up, he says, “Okay. We’re on our way.”

After he hangs up, he announces to the room, “We need to go to the hospital now.” He points to Sin. “Get a hat and a hoodie. It’s still not secure, but we need to get you there.”

The look on Dallas’s face, and from the sounds of it, it’s not good news. Sin’s eyes fill with tears, but she shakes it off and rushes after Dallas.

Wolfe slaps me on the shoulder. “We’ll be right behind you. We want to see what unfolds and if anyone else shows up at Lenny’s.

I give him a nod and follow my girl.

Everyone is on their bikes in record time, and we follow Dallas at lightning speed.

When we pull up to the hospital, I see some of our guys, Luc’s men, and a couple of FBI agents standing in the parking lot.

Christ. This can’t be good.

Sin tenses behind me.

I grab her hands that are wrapped around me, giving them a squeeze.

Walking toward the entrance, all eyes are on Sin clinging to my arm. Everyone becomes quiet as we approach. The silence continues as we walk, even Steve doesn’t say anything.

Fuck!

My heart starts racing, and I get a bad feeling in my stomach. Dallas ushers us into the hospital, and we head straight for the ICU. When I see all the girls standing outside the ICU doors, I stop.

“What the fuck! Someone better tell us what the fuck is going on!” I demand.

Doc rushes over to Dallas, giving him a big hug first before turning to us. I tug on Sin, moving her to my side, while tears stream down her face, and brace for the worse.

Doc takes a deep breath. “They’ve taken her back for more tests, but they had to pump her stomach. They’re trying to find out what she’s been given drug-wise. She’s been throwing up a lot but isn’t coherent enough to talk. She only mumbles or cries out before throwing up. We’re waiting for her bloodwork to come back so we know what we’re dealing with.”

I sigh with relief.

“Christ, the way everyone is looking, I thought she was dead,” I say, feeling relieved.

Doc’s eyes tell me there is something she’s not saying.

“What?” I demand.

“We need to wait for all the tests to come back,” Doc replies.

The ICU doors open automatically, and a nurse we know from when Dallas was in the hospital walks through them. She spots Doc first and moves toward her but stops in her tracks when she sees Sin.

“My goodness. Are you Raydene’s sister?” Nurse Cheryl asks, surprised.

Sin steps forward and answers, “Yes. I’m her sister.”

Cheryl looks from Doc to Sin before saying, “Okay, you should come with me. Dr. Hart, it would be best if you came too. Dr. Wilson is asking for you.”

I take a step to go with Sin, but Cheryl puts up her hand and says, “I’m sorry, Mac. I’ll come get you boys when I can.”

I want to protest, but I don’t. Instead, Dallas moves next to me. “We’ll be right here. Thanks, Cheryl.”

I watch as my girl entwines her arm with Doc, and they disappear behind the doors.

Standing there for a few minutes, I stare at the closed doors. Only when I hear sniffles do I turn around to see all the Spin It girls huddled together with tears in their eyes.

“What are you not telling me, Dallas?”

No one speaks.

My heart starts to race again, and I become pissed off, clenching my fist by my side.

Still, no one speaks.

I growl, “Someone better fucking—”

Dallas cuts me off, saying, “They’re treating her for a drug overdose.”

My heart drops, and I stand there in complete shock.

The elevator dings and more of our group enters the waiting room. I don’t move. I can’t. Thoughts run rampant through my brain.

Overdose? How? She was fine. She looked me in the eye. Yes, you could tell she was drugged up, but she was okay.

I become lightheaded and sway on my feet.

“Wow, I got you, brother. Let’s sit down over here.” Redman grabs my arm, and Dallas grabs the other, moving me to a couch nearby.

“She was fine,” I murmur to myself.

Dallas tries to make me feel better by saying, “They don’t know for sure. They are doing bloodwork on her right now. They want to make sure there isn’t anything else.”

The doors automatically swing open again, and I jump up. When Violet walks through the doors, I can tell she’s trying to hold her shit together for everyone, but her eyes tell us she’s been crying.

The girls rush to her. “Any news?”

Violet shakes her head, looking lost.

Chiv moves the girls out of his way. Opening his arms, she rushes into them. She’s enveloped in his massive chest where she finds refuge and can release all her emotions.

Still standing, I ask, “Where is Sin? Is she okay?”

Vi turns her head and answers shakingly, “She’s with Lee. They’re being taken in to see Ray right now.”

I sit back down, placing my head down and gripping both hands full of hair.

Please, God. Let her be okay. Please. Please.

The doors to the elevator ding again, and this time, it’s Shy and Agent Steve.

When Steve’s murderous eyes land on me, he says through gritted teeth, “You ready to go hunting?”

I look at Shy, who is embracing Snow, quietly speaking in her ear.

Surveying the rest of the room, I notice all the men are now looking at me.

Rage instantly erupts inside me.

“Fuck yeah!” I declare, standing up.
