Chapter 33
Rogue
The emotion inside my chest expands at the sight of her. My mystery princess, my sexy white rabbit, my Uma Cookie. My sweet Ivy. Love of my life. The woman I would do anything for.
She is my heart walking around outside my body. The oxygen my lungs are starving for. The sting behind my eyes.
My present. My future. My family.
Summer reaches us first. She smiles and takes position opposite Rebel and Riot. I barely notice. Not when I can’t tear my gaze off Ivy. Her dress reminds me of that fateful day she saved my life. She lifts the front of it enough to reveal a rainbow of tulle and the shoes I sent her.
I beam at her as my eyes fill up, turning the vision of her into a watercolor. Closing the gap between us, I hold out my hand.
She lays hers in mine and I curl my fingers around it. “You are… stunning.”
“Shall we?” Adira asks circling us to stand facing our guests.
Summer takes Ivy’s bouquet.
“Okay, we’re going to be a little untraditional, but if anyone has a problem with these two can you please speak up now so we can kindly tell you to fuck off and have you escorted from the premises.”
There’s a titter through the crowd.
“Great. Now, that’s out of the way…” Adira pauses and grows serious.
“As you all know the course of love did not run smooth for these two and it’s taken a lot to get here.
Because there’s more than a few psychos in her family.
Some in his too. But through all the trials and tribulations, the almost dying and the whole T-Swift debacle their love has grown into something that will last the distance. Today, Rogue—”
“Don’t do it.” I stare him down. My middle name is on the paperwork, so Adira is now one of the few people who knows. I prefer it to stay that way.
“…Maddox and Ivy Love want to pledge their love and devotion to each other in front of you via vows they have personally written to one another. Now, which one of you little darlings are most likely to cry?”
It’s hard to be sure. We’re both misty-eyed.
“Me.” Ivy sniffles. She takes a piece of paper from the bodice of her dress and unfolds it.
“Rogue, you changed my life when you crashed into my car. I didn’t know it then, but having you see me…
really see me… would change everything for me.
With your help I found strength to speak up.
I found dreams I thought I couldn’t have.
And I have experienced more love than I ever believed possible for me. ”
“That’s because your stepmother sucked.” Adira says under his breath.
Ivy ignores the piece of paper, dropping her arm to her side.
“Together we’ve begun to build a life on those foundations.
Shared strength. Shared dreams. Communication.
And love. I promise never to forget these foundations we’ve put in place.
To nurture them every day. To love you with my whole heart no matter how easy or hard things get.
I promise to love you the way you have loved me. ”
“I love you.” I blink back manly tears. My heart is full.
“Rogue?” Adira prompts me. “Would you like to share your vows with Ivy now?”
“How am I supposed to follow that?” I chuckle.
Taking a deep breath, I center myself and try to remember what I committed to paper.
But the truth is… “There’s a million different ways to say I love you and I want to spend eternity with you.
I wrote a lot of them down. But somehow none of them seemed quite right.
They were all too complicated for how simple what I feel for you is.
I love you. I am obsessed. I will always be obsessed.
And I will never ever stop fighting for your love.
I will spend my entire life showing you how much you mean to me.
You are my entire world, my family. Ivy Love, the rest of our life will not be long enough but with the time that we do have I will cherish you. ”
“Okay, that was sweet,” Adira chokes, wiping his eyes. “Do we have rings?”
Rebel steps forward with the two rings. His and hers wedding bands that match Ivy’s engagement ring. Each has crushed sapphire inlaid in the band.
I lift Ivy’s hand and slide her band over the knuckle until it’s in place. She does the same with mine. We grin at each other. Last time ended in shambles. This whole weekend has threatened another wedding disaster.
But we’re actually doing it. We’re getting married.
“You want to kiss her?” Adira asks.
The way she’s looking at me. The way I feel about her. The fact that I had to miss her all night long. And this kiss will mean she’s my wife… “Obviously.”
“Ivy, you may kiss your husband,” Adira says nice and loud for everyone to hear.
Before I can swoop on my wife, my wife grabs my jaw and claims my mouth in a possessive kiss.
Our guests cheer.
Rebel and Riot surround me, clapping me on the back. Summer steals Ivy for a hug.
I take my wife’s hand and twine our fingers together. There’s no way I’ll be letting her go anytime soon. “We still need to sign.”
It only takes a few minutes to sign and have the document witnessed by Summer and Rebel and by Adira as officiant. Photos are taken.
Our guests line up to congratulate us.
But all I really want is five minutes alone with my wife. To let it really sink in that for the rest of our lives we’ll be Mr. and Mrs.
The string quartet starts to play again as we make our way through the line. By the time everyone has moved on I am desperate to have my wife to myself for a few minutes.
“I want to steal you away.” I press a kiss to her temple while the photographer takes shots.
“I would like nothing more.” She smiles up at me. “But I want to see Dizzy first. I have a feeling West will want to take her back to the cabin until they leave. I might not get another chance to see her for a while.”
“Yes, of course. As soon as we’re finished here. But then I’m getting my five minutes alone with you.”
“Please. But you’re also going to have to help me change into my reception dress.” She winds her arms around my neck and touches her lips to mine. “Can you believe… after everything that happened this weekend… we’re married? It feels like a dream.”
Eventually, we’ve had enough and Rebel tells the photographer to take photos of the guests while Ivy and I go up to the house.
We find West and Dizzy on the verandah.
“Congratulations, you two.” West leaps up from next to Dizzy on the swing. He shakes my hand.
“Thank you,” I say, holding the handshake and his gaze longer than necessary. Not for the congratulations, but for dealing with Nicole. And for finally dropping his guard enough for us to start to get to know him. For keeping Ivy’s sister safe, whatever that entails.
I don’t want to know too much about it. But I understand the need to keep the women we care about safe.
“West says we need to go.” Dizzy clings to Ivy.
“We’re going to go pack and get out of here before that agent realizes his mistake is thinking he made a mistake and comes back.”
“I’ll miss you,” Ivy tells her sister.
“We’ll come visit, won’t we, West?” She turns to him. “Once I feel like myself.”
West softens for her. He might be a big old pushover. “When it’s safe.”
“Finally, I have my husband all to myself,” Ivy says when they leave. She giggles, bubbling over with happiness. “Come help me change,”
Seeing her without a care in the world… There is nothing… well, one thing… better. I scoop her up bridal style and carry her in through the doors to the sitting room. It’s empty with everyone down on the lawn and heading into the barn for the reception.
The dress hanging on the wall is much shorter than her gown.
“Help me with my buttons, husband?” She shows me her back and the tiny buttons that run down the bodice.
Breathing in her sweet perfume, I fumble the buttons before I get the hang of them. Slowly the bodice parts to reveal her gorgeous body wrapped up in that mouthwatering lingerie I’ve been salivating over all day.
The dress pools at her waist and she shimmies out of it before carefully picking it up and hanging it over a chair.
Grasping her waist, I bring her back to my chest and smooth my hands over every inch of her satiny skin. “You could give a man a heart attack, dressed like that, wife.”
“I hope I give him something a lot more fun than a heart attack.” She turns in my arms and brushes her hand over my cock.
It hardens for her with the slightest attention. There’s no way we’re going back to the celebration yet.
Claiming her mouth, I scoop her up and carry her over to the couch. Sitting with her straddling my lap, I grasp her jaw and take my time tasting my wife.
My wife. That’s crazy. This woman is mine.
Her sweet whimpers are mine. The way she rolls her hips so her pussy grinds on my cock… all mine.
She reaches between us and undoes my belt and zipper. Taking out my cock, she positions her pussy at the head, and when I curl my fingers in those pretty panties and tug them to one side, she impales herself on it.
Our gazes locked, I fuck my wife. Watching her pupils dilate and the pretty blush of exertion making her skin glow. Listening to her breaths quicken as she gets close. Her moans more needy.
Her lips part and her eyes shut as she hits her peak. I suck her shoulder between my teeth and bury my own roar in the side of her neck as we tumble over that cliff together.
If anyone had asked me before I met Ivy if I could see myself being not only a one- woman man, but also totally committed, the answer would have been a hearty laugh. Now I am certain she is the only woman I will ever want. I am addicted.
Once we’ve caught our breath Ivy slips from my lap. She takes her new dress from the hook.
“Let me help.” I stand and tuck myself back in before crouching to hold the dress for her so she can step into it.
Bringing it up, I straighten.
She holds the bodice across her boobs while I secure the zipper along her spine. This dress is somehow whiter than the princess dress. It’s sleeveless, and rippled, and the skirt somehow resembles a cloud in a way that screams party time.
I hold out my hand to her. “Shall we, wife?”
“Yes, we shall husband.” She puts her hand in mine.
Hand in hand we make our way to the barn where Adira announces us to everyone our arrival as Mr. and Mrs. Maddox.
