CHAPTER 13

Who doesn’t have a few office fantasies?

“UH, VICTOR? IS THAT you?” Charlie asked in mild confusion.

Cam stood there holding me over his shoulder, frozen like a statue. I was staring at Charlie’s upside-down bewildered face. And Cam’s hand was still squeezing my ass cheek.

Just... the whole ass cheek. In front of my boss.

I wasn’t embarrassed with our current – cough – position. But the same couldn’t be said for Cam. I could practically feel the heat radiating off his face in radioactive waves.

Plus, while Charlie was assistant to the dean and pretty much my boss, he was a genuinely nice guy. Not bigoted or likely to spout how “inappropriate” my current conduct on school grounds was.

I gave him a friendly smile and a cavalier wave, “Hi Charlie, what brings you to my domain?”

It was only then that Cam seemed to realize he had successfully brought us to my office, his eyes landing on the plaque with my name on it directly to his left.

“I was, um, looking for you,” he replied slowly. “But it seems you are otherwise... preoccupied?”

I did feel mildly inconvenienced at me and Cam’s giddy, playful moment being interrupted, but I was in too good of a mood to let it get to me.

Cam was still holding me over his shoulder, so I patted his muscled back for him to set me down. He squatted and gently lowered me to my feet but kept his hands on my hips as he stood, steadying me, before dropping them to his sides. Chivalrous as always.

I turned toward Charlie. “I could spare a few minutes. I was just about to give Cam a tour of my office and the arcane lab.

Charlie’s brown eyes widened, gaze darting to Cam.

“Cam?” he asked. “As in the Cam?”

Cam gave me a questioning look that screamed how does this stranger know me?

I chuckled, “I told him about you.”

“Yes yes, you did. Wow, you’re tall,” Charlie commented, his neck craning back to meet Cam’s gaze as he shook his hand. “Said you met at Victor’s sister’s funeral. Again, I’m so sorry for your loss.”

His sincerity nearly made me cringe with guilt at having lied to him. Twice.

“Oh, yeah. Thanks.” I cleared my throat. “So, you were looking for me?”

“Yes!” He perked up again. “A gentleman was looking for you. But I’d thought you already left for break.”

“A student?” I asked.

“Not one that I recognized, but possibly someone interested in the arcane department,” he told me as he scratched his bearded chin. “And who better to ask than you, eh?”

“Did you get his name?”

Charlie shook his head. “No, he left before I could ask. But I told him you’d be gone for some music festival and to come back once the semester picked back up again.”

I gave him a tight-lipped smile, feeling somewhat uneasy. Although, I couldn’t say why.

“Well, my message has been delivered.” He waved and turned to leave the way he had come. “Have a lovely holiday you two. It was lovely meeting you Cam, see you next time!”

After Charlie disappeared down the hall, silence descended upon us.

Suddenly, a voice hissed in a rough, scratchy voice, “What’s the password?”

Cam and I both jumped, even though I knew the source of the question.

I grinned as Cam’s blue eyes went comically wide as he looked around for the voice’s owner. I grabbed Cam’s chin and directed his gaze toward the office door. He stared at the lone black skull doorknocker on it, confused.

“Boo!” the object barked and Cam jumped again.

I chuckled, “This is Henry. It’s charmed to scare anyone who comes by.”

“Is it... sentient?” Cam asked, a little wary of the now silent skull.

I cocked my head at it. “I don’t... think so?” I then shrugged and gestured toward it, “Better knock if you ‘wanna go in.”

Cam looked honestly quite terrified that the little thing would chomp his fingers off.

“Go on, it won’t bite,” I told him, then muttered under my breath, “At least, I don’t think so.”

“You don’t seem all that confident in its manners,” he quipped. “Does it at least have its shots? Just in case.”

I snickered then Cam hesitantly knocked the metal ring twice. When the skull spoke once more, Cam’s jump was only half shocked.

“‘All that we see or seem is but a dream within a dream.’ Who am I?” it asked.

I scoffed, “Give me a harder one next ti-”

“Edgar Allen Poe,” Cam answered.

The door swung open, and I stared at him, pleasantly surprised. And... Fuck, maybe even a little turned on. He smirked down at me and asked,

“There aren’t any boobytraps meant to steal my pants or magically tie my shoelaces together, are there?”

I clicked my tongue and stepped into the room. “As if any traps I made would tie someone’s shoelaces together. Lame.”

“That didn’t answer my question.”

Flicking on the light, Cam stepped up beside me.

“Wow, it looks just like your spell room at home,” he mused as he took in every detail.

My heart warmed at the casual mention of home. Cam used the term so easily now and it told me just how comfortable he was living with me. It soothed that anxiety within me that wondered if Cam was really, truly happy being with me.

But he was right. My office here was very similar to my spell room. Whereas most professors and teachers here didn’t overtly personalize their offices, maybe a few plants and family photos, a couple framed achievements and awards of scholarly successes... Not me, though.

It wasn’t a very big space, no bigger than my personal spell room.

The walls were a navy blue and the mahogany floor was worn but well cared for.

Along the left wall was a large, heavy desk with piles of papers with colorful labels sticking out next to several stacks of books.

My coffee tumbler I’d forgotten sat next to a large computer monitor, the screensaver a little mini-Jinx flittering back and forth.

A framed photo of me and Cam, the one we’d had taken at the pumpkin patch in front of that giant-ass pumpkin, rested next to the keyboard.

Cam’s eyes grew soft as he noticed the photo showing both of us candidly smiling at each other before we’d known the lady was taking pictures, but he didn’t comment. He merely walked further in and over to the set of bookshelves next to the window.

I obviously didn’t have the... variety of ingredients that I had at home.

Namely the illegal ones. What I did have here, though, were all neatly labelled legal spell ingredients in an assortment of jars, bottles, pouches, and boxes.

There was also a matching jar of eyeballs being used as a bookend, and Cam snickered as he spotted it right away.

“What?” I asked, all doe-eyed innocence. “They were buy-one-get-one.”

His shoulders shook with silent laughter as I leaned a hip against my desk to watch Cam look around. In that moment he resembled a cat, its tail flicking curiously as he sniffed about and examined his new surroundings. Too fucking cute.

I straightened the photo of Cam and I and eyed the crooked pile of papers.

For some reason, it felt like someone had been in here.

But I brushed it off; it was likely just Charlie when he’d come looking for me.

Even though he didn’t particularly like Henry, he did love his riddles.

I didn’t keep my office locked, which some might frown upon, but I wasn’t worried about anything being stollen here.

I looked away from Cam to the frosted window that sat just next to the desk. I had gotten my own Venus Flytrap, mine much less animated, which was resting within the wide window frame overlooking a snow-covered courtyard.

I jumped when I realized that Cam had stopped perusing the shelves and was standing in front of me. Gazing up at him from where I leaned against my desk, I offered him a smile.

“Nothing too grand. I can show you the labs, there’s a lot more to see... there.” I trailed off as Cam’s palms found my sides underneath my unzipped coat.

A full-body shiver wracked me when his chilly fingers drifted downward to toy with the hem of my sweater. His touch sent electricity zapping over my sensitive skin.

“No one will be coming in here, right?” he asked, rumbling voice deep and hypnotizing.

He leaned down to let his lips brush lightly across my cheekbone.

My eyes fluttered shut, “Huh?”

Before I could question what he was doing, Cam was guiding me backwards and shoving me lightly into the seat behind the desk. I fell into it as Cam caged me with his body, the armrests holding his weight as he hovered over me.

“Have you ever fantasized about doing anything in your office, Victor?” he asked me, eyes boring into mine and full of intent.

I spluttered, “Wh... What? Uh... I...” licking my lips nervously and throat bobbing convulsively.

I nearly choked as Cam dropped to his knees before me. His hands drifted to my thighs and spread my legs wide, making enough room for his broad shoulders to fit between them.

Rucking up my sweater, he leaned forward and began trailing hot, languid kisses down my bare stomach, his destination obvious.

“Um... Cam...” I gasped when his fingers flicked open the button of my jeans, the sound of the zipper obnoxiously loud in the silence.

“I know you have, Victor.” Cam’s mouth continued its unhurried, leisurely descent. “But I don’t think I’ll fit beneath your desk. So, this will have to do.”

When my fly was undone, Cam mouthed over my straining cockhead through the already damp fabric of my boxers.

I moaned hoarsely, head craning back into the leather headrest. My hands immediately flew down to cup the back of Cam’s head telling him in no uncertain terms that yes, this was certainly doing it for me.

Why was the idea of getting sucked off in my office so hot? Had I realized this was something that would turn me on so much? Nope. Was I going to object? Hell would freeze over before I stopped what was about to happen.

Cam grabbed my underwear, pulling it down so that my cock sprang free. I tried to spread my legs wider, but my skinny jeans were making it an impossible task. Seeing my struggle, Cam lifted my ass slightly so that he could pull them down and bare myself to him completely.
