Chapter 23 – Sienna #3

"I mean it," he murmurs finally, pressing a kiss to my temple as he strokes a finger across my entrance, sending aftershocks dancing through me.

When he pushes his seed back into my body, I whimper, pussy clenching around him, craving him again already.

"Loyalty is important in this business when we can trust so few. I demand it, but I’ll give it too. "

I don’t just want to be business, but I also don't have the energy to speak. My legs are trembling, and my heart is pounding, utterly and completely undone.

Luca turns off the water and carries me out of the shower, stripping his dripping wet shirt off my weak arms with great difficulty before grabbing towels to wrap around us both. Somehow, we're in his bedroom, falling onto the massive bed in a tangle of damp limbs and exhausted sighs.

“I’m sorry about your book,” he whispers.

“I’m sorry about your book.”

With a chuckle, he pulls me close, his chest warm against my back, and for a moment, everything is quiet and still. Then his hand finds mine, and a circle of cool and hard metal slides onto my finger.

I look down, confused, my sex-addled brain sluggish, as my heart stops.

“I said no sex until there was a ring on your finger, but it’s close enough.”

“That’s the worst proposal ever.” I laugh, holding my hand out, admiring the glittering ring and how it catches the light.

The ring is platinum and elegantly simple with a single diamond that catches the light and throws tiny rainbows across the sheets.

Tiny stones in the band make it look dainty and oh-so-sparkly.

It's exactly what I would have chosen for myself.

It's exactly what I described to him once, years ago, in my tiny apartment one rainy Sunday morning when we used to talk about the future.

Our future.

I look at it again, and my heart stutters. It couldn’t be.

"Luca..." My words come out strangled. "This is… the one…"

"The one you saw." His lips brush my shoulder. "I remember."

He says it simply, like it's not the most devastating, earth-shattering revelation I've ever heard.

We walked past a jeweler’s window on a romantic weekend in Vermont, looking at the fall leaves, and I pointed it out, joking that a ring like that would do, because it was ridiculously, absurdly beyond anything our student budgets could afford.

I glance at Luca, and I don’t even need to ask him to know. He didn’t just remember. This is the very same ring. And knowing that, that he’s had it all this time and didn’t give it to Kate upon their faux engagement, the walls I’ve built up inside me crack wide open.

Rolling to the side, I rest my hand on his stomach and press a kiss to his chest. “Thank you.”

"You're moving into this room." His arm tightens around my waist, pulling me closer. "No more room across the hall. No more separate beds. If you’re my fiancé, you’re sleeping here."

Maybe a better person would argue, but I just nod, kissing him again, softly, lower this time, along the bottom of his ribs. Again, on his rock-hard stomach, loving the dusting of dark hair that travels down from his navel in a line.

Luca groans, fingers tangling in the sheets as I slide down, my hand resting on his thigh, stroking up and down, getting closer and closer to his cock on each pass, until my thumb brushes his balls and his hard-on grows bigger.

“Fuck Sienna,” he whispers, one hand coming to my head to brush my hair back gently.

I shift on the bed, getting comfortable, my mouth now tracing a path lower from his hips to the soft thatch of hair from which his thick cock stands straight up.

When I wrap my hand around him and run my tongue along the head, catching the drop of precum in the slit and licking it up, he curses in Italian and buries his fingers into my hair.

Bringing my knees up higher, I take his head into my mouth, running my tongue around the edge, and moan when he reaches down to play with my breasts, tickling and tweaking my nipples as I take more and more of him into my mouth.

I’m really getting into it when I bump the nightstand.

A folder, thick with papers, goes crashing to the floor, photographs scattering across the hardwood.

"Shit." I lean over to gather them, but Luca growls, pulling me back.

“Don’t worry about those. We’ll get them after.” But I’m already off the bed, scooping them up, on my knees.

"What are these?" I pause my attempts to bundle them together neatly and scan the face on top. Some of these faces I recognize.

"More photos. Corso brought them earlier." Luca slides off the bed and stands, reaching for the pictures with one hand, and for me, with the other. “Later. Come back to…”

I shuffle through the pictures, images of people from various angles, of a nightclub or strip club, or the outside of an office, someone working on the door of a bar, a street I recognize, not far from the restaurant.

And then I see him.

My fingers freeze, and I can’t speak. Instead, I reach out and grab Luca’s arm.

"Sienna?" Luca sounds far away, even though his fingers are tangled with mine, pulling my attention back to him. "What is it?"

I blink up at him, and hold the photograph up between us, my hand trembling.

"It's him."
