Chapter 46 Zane
Zane
The residents of Thornville still hadn’t removed the Solstice decorations. Pretty lights twinkled in the trees along Main Street, and colorful garlands hung from every storefront, but I only had eyes for my witch.
She yawned as she stumbled along, her familiar at her feet. We’d landed an hour ago, but it was taking time to find a hotel with vacancies. We could have gone back to campus, but I’d made up a bullshit excuse about my magic reserves being low.
Not low enough to prevent me from teleporting us all back from Sitkavus, but nobody called me out on my lie. I wasn’t ready to go back to Starfall Academy. Not with the many problems that awaited us, not least how to conceal a centuries-old vampire from Montgomery.
“Why have we stopped here?” Alaric threw me an exasperated look. With each day that passed, the mage grew more bad tempered. Honestly, he was lucky I hadn’t teleported him into a volcano at this point. I knew at least one bear shifter who’d celebrate if I did.
“Because I need to fuck my mate and boost my magic. Or you need to fuck our mate and let me watch. For the magic.” I smirked.
“Not happening,” he snapped.
“Best zap your dick then. May as well, seeing as how you refuse to use that little wiener.”
He got in my face and snarled. “There’s nothing little about my dick!”
I stared at his crotch. “Me thinks the mage doth protest too much.”
Maverick glared at both of us. “Quit it, for fuck’s sake.” He gestured at Raven, who leaned against the bloodsucker and yawned again. “Spread out and find a room. There must be somewhere in this shitty town we can stay.”
“There is one place,” I hedged while trying not to laugh. “But you might not like it.”
Maverick huffed out a sigh that told me he definitely wouldn’t like it. “Go on…”
“There’s a club I know that has rooms for its members, and I am a member.”
Alaric looked interested. “Club? How come I don’t know about this club?”
“Guess you’re not special enough, sparky.” Five, four, three…
Lightning blasted a nearby tree, sending a flock of birds screeching skyward. A few feathers floated down as the scent of scorched bird filled the air.
“Alaric!” Raven cried in horror, but the mage folded his arms, utterly unrepentant.
“Fuck you, asshole!” he hissed at me.
“What’s this club?” Maverick ground his teeth and counted back from one hundred as my pet sniffled at the sight of a dead bird lying in the snow with two smoking feet sticking up in the air.
“Heaven & Hell. I’m more familiar with Hell, as Heaven is for humans, but both sides are fun.”
The bear pinched his nose and muttered something rude before forcing a smile. “Okay, fine. Let’s try it.”
“Zane! Long time no see!” Serena shot out from behind the reception desk and enveloped me in a perfumed hug.
Like all sirens, Serena was a tactile creature.
We knew each other well and had fucked many times, but when she slid her hand down my chest, I pushed her away.
“Serena, meet my mate and her other…mates.”
Rasmus stayed back, his vampy fangs hidden behind a human glamour. Only the most powerful witches would sense what he truly was, and there were none in this town. I hoped.
Maverick nodded while Alaric glanced up and then pulled out his phone. The asshole still had his nose out of joint after finding out he wasn’t cool enough to score a membership to the hottest club for miles.
It sucked to be him.
My pet glared at me before smiling sweetly at the siren. Serena’s mouth gaped open in shock for a few seconds before she rallied. Luckily for me, Serena wasn’t the jealous type. She loved to fuck, and if I wasn’t available, she’d happily seduce some other creature, male or female.
“So…you found your soul-bond?”
“Sure did! And my pet is perfect.” I slid an arm across Raven’s shoulders and yanked her close. She bristled before relaxing into me.
“Well if y’all feel like putting on a show, we have the cage set up in the orgy room.”
“Orgy room?” Raven nearly choked on the words. Maverick growled while Alaric grimaced. Rasmus looked amused, though. I had a feeling ol’ vampy and me were about to become besties that bone.
Mates that play together, stay together.
The vamp winked at me and bared his fangs. Raven intercepted his lustful look, and the scent of her arousal hit me like a shot of pure wicstasy, the synthetic drug the mage mafia peddled in backstreet bars and clubs.
“Fancy it, pet?” I whispered.
“Fancy what?” She bit her lip and gazed up at me, pupils blown wide.
“Letting all of us fuck you in front of an audience.” I grinned. The thought of it had my cock singing.
Alaric’s furious glare singed my eyebrows off. “Can we move it on, yeah? I’d like a shower and some food.”
“Let’s circle back to this in a bit, petal.” I focused on Serena for a moment. “Vanilla popsicle over there has intimacy issues, so he won’t be needing an access-all-areas pass, but the rest of us will be down once we’ve eaten.”
Serena chuckled. She pulled a keycard from a drawer and threw it at me. “Your usual suite, darling. I’ll add your name and those of your guests to the list.”
“Follow me,” I told my harem. The night was young, with lots of fun to be had, and I didn’t plan to waste a second of it.
