15. Kayden

KAYDEN

Maddy’s sitting by her desk in her sexy little teacher outfit—white button-up and gray pencil skirt—her trademark look. Her legs are slightly parted, like she feels an emptiness between them as she grades some papers.

I stalk behind her with a pen in hand and surprise her, leaning on the back of her chair.

“What are you doing here?” She startles. Her manicured brows scrunch to the center of her face.

I let my actions replace my words, my pen dancing along her clothes, from her breasts to her belly, all the way to the bottom of her skirt. She tells me to stop, that we can’t.

Not because it’s wrong. No. Because she feels it too—how right we are.

“Students may catch us.” They may walk in on us.

“Isn’t that the fun part?” I whisper into Maddy’s ear. I catch her hair into a ponytail with my fist, tugging it with a little pressure, just enough to part her lips.

Then, I slide the pen and my hand underneath her skirt, finding her panties and pushing them to the side. I turn her into a moaning mess, rubbing the pen around her clit before inserting it into her wet, yearning cunt.

“Mr. A’gosto?”

“Coach?”

I look up to see Brandon and Ryan, two of my students, in full hockey gear, on the ice in front of me. Brandon is holding onto Ryan, who’s got his shoulder wrapped around him.

Shit. Daydreaming is not my thing, but ever since my little demon’s diary, I can’t stop thinking about her.

Holding the page I found on the bulletin board today isn’t any help. It fuels my desperation to have her.

“What happened?” I put the paper down on the bleachers and make my way to the ice.

“Karl just tripped me with his s—” Brandon’s eyes widen. “Is that a…” He stretches a finger toward me.

“Yep,” Ryan corroborates, blowing his blond hair off his forehead. “That’s definitely a boner.”

“What were you reading, coach?” Brandon wiggles his eyebrows. “Wanna share?”

I press my hands to my front and cover myself. Denial. Denial. Denial, first and foremost.

“I do not have a boner.”

I also wish I weren’t wearing light gray jogging pants that are a size smaller on me today. Never again.

I really have to go shopping.

“Wait. Are you telling me that’s how it looks when it isn’t hard?” Ryan asks.

“Naah, we would have noticed, dude,” Brandon says.

“He is usually wearing dark bottoms, though. It’s a bit harder to notice that way. This is the first time I’ve seen him in something that isn’t black or dark gray.”

“We’re not talking about this,” I state, completely ignoring the way my cheeks flare up. “And you’re both heading to detention today.” I smirk. That’ll do it. “Now, what were you guys trying to say?”

“What?” Ryan messes his blond hair with a hand. “Are you serious, Coach?”

“Dudee,” Brandon complains.

“Very serious. And you better not argue with me, or you’re gonna be spending the whole week there. Now, what’s the problem?”

Ryan twists his mouth, breathing hard.

Brandon pats his shoulder, his own sagging. “Let it go, man. We’ll do detention today and be done with it.”

“This isn’t fair,” Ryan whispers to him.

Brandon pats his shoulder again and again. Then, diverts his attention to me.

“Karl tripped me with his stick,” he says.

“He did? Well, that’s a penalty.” I blow my whistle and signal for him to come to me. “Karl?”

The shorter kid is chatting at the back of the rink with the rest of the team. He skates toward us.

“Yeah?”

“You’re going to the penalty box.”

He opens his mouth to complain.

I blow my whistle again and stretch my hand toward our DIY penalty box, a corner of the bleachers with a sign that reads just that.

“Go, go, go.”

Once the game resumes, my mind wanders again, this time not to sexual fantasies about my stepsister, but the anonymous note I got that warned me to stay away from Madelyn.

I get this psycho telling me he wants her to provoke me and mess with me.

But stealing her diary, and now leaking a page onto the school bulletin board?

He could have gotten her fired.

A thought speeds through my mind. What if his leaking her diary was a double-edged sword meant for me and only me? As a way to torture me? Make me pay for what I did by sabotaging my sister’s life?

It’s possible. I got there in time. I picked up the pieces and hid the evidence.

Maybe that’s what was supposed to happen.

He’s playing with me. Not Madelyn.

Unless…Maddy’s aware of this, and she’s being blackmailed by him?

The possibility makes my lips quiver.

Talking to my little demon would clarify things. Except there is no easy way to do this.

If I talk to her, I’ll have to tell her why this is happening in the first place.

For now, it’s better to keep trying to figure things out by myself. Quietly. Not alerting her.

Keep her out of it. Keep Madelyn safe at all costs.

There is no way I’ll stay away. I’m not playing that game of his.

If my little demon needs me, I’ll be there for her. Picking on her by day, and making sure she goes to sleep safely at night.

This anonymous idiot can go suck dick. I’m keeping what’s mine.

Forty-five minutes later, practice’s over, and I almost fuck up.

“Hey, Coach, wait up!” Karl calls out. The rest of the team rushes out to the showers.

“What’s up, Karl?”

I’m almost sure he’s going to bitch about me sending him to the penalty box today.

“You forgot your boner note,” he says instead as I approach him.

In his hand, extended, is the note I left on the bleachers.

Fuck me.

“That’s not a—”

“Coach, you had a huge boner. The whole team saw it from miles away.”

“No idea what you’re talking about.” I snatch the note away and tap him on the back. “You’re gonna want to head to detention, along with Brandon and Ryan. Now, get out.”

“What?” Karl’s eyes are as big as plates. “Why?”

I swing my hand forward and dismiss him, not leaving him room to complain.

He leaves while making loud scoffing sounds.

I’m about to fold the note again and put it in my pocket, except I stare at it and squint my eyes.

The handwriting isn’t Madelyn’s. I flip it around and see the other side is actually the note I found. But not the back.

That’s not my little demon’s diary.

It’s a message from him.

Don’t tell me you’ve forgotten me already, Kayden.

After all we’ve been through?

Let me give you a hint.

We met as kids.

You’ve called me many names.

I stuck with you through high school.

I even stayed by you in college.

Specifics?

Okay. There might have been a tape.

You pissed me off. I had to do it, okay?

Chills run down my spine. This doesn’t make sense. The psycho is the same stranger who sabotaged Madelyn’s and my relationship in college. The one who leaked our sex tape. He’s here. He’s back.
