Chapter Ten

No one dared to disagree with Sergi. This wasn’t something anyone wanted to entertain but everyone was thinking about the ramifications in the back of their minds. Eliminating them by force was the only recourse.

“We can only hope that this will be the last of it,” Hawkins said then he sighed heavily.

“But I do have to add...we have said this at least six times now. Hope that’s the end of it.

I had hoped her name would never be uttered again.

I hoped that her nefarious deeds were all accounted for.

And I especially hoped that the devil would be able to contain her in the hell she well deserves. ”

They all shook their heads.

Sergi let out a sigh. “I am sorry for the misery this woman has brought. We have all known men who cause such misery and mayhem. It is rare when a woman is doing it, but it happens. The human condition is a precarious endeavor. Bad should never be able to exist, though it does. Maybe together, we shall take care of this and...” He looked over at Hawkins. “End it permanently.”

Just then, Cameron came into the front door and announced that another convoy just appeared in the driveway.

Donald came in too and headed over to where Walter was.

Sergi nodded. “The Enforcers are here.”

The lobby was filling up fast as the new men joined them. They were introduced to Viktor and his man Deter. They sat down and began working out a plan because time was not on their side. They had to find something they could use against the Hounds before they became a problem.

Celina listened from the small area in the far corner of the lobby and shook her head.

Andreia was watching her for the longest time before she asked the other woman, “What are you shaking your head about?”

Celina looked up at her and replied, “They’re giving my brothers entirely too much credit.”

Andreia looked puzzled. “What do you mean?”

Celina looked over her shoulder and gazed over at the area where the men all sat.

“They believe my brothers have a plan. I don’t think they do.

I think they are going to surround the Inn, then wait until darkness covers their tracks and they will come in shooting so no one knows where the shooting is coming from.

Caleb and Jordan will want to throw them off before they strike.

They play the waiting game very well. Waiting is good for them, but not so good for your guys. ”

“Why do you think that?” Hondo's question came from the doorway.

Celina turned on the couch to look at him.

“Because for all their bluster they only think they are smarter than you. They want to throw you off and make you take the first move. I’ve watched them all my life and they are basically cowards but they are smart cowards.

They want every advantage but aren’t unwilling to come right out in the open to strike first.”

Titan stiffened and stared at her. “Cat also said they wouldn’t come out into the open unless they were certain they were hidden in plain sight. It makes sense to wait until dark can cover their every move.”

“Then maybe we should wait for them but search them out so we can maybe get close to them without them knowing it.” Viktor nodded.

“We have tracking cams in place,” Walter pointed out.

“Da and the Ghosts are out in the woods as well.” Sergi smiled. “Maybe we can catch them off guard before they can even settle in to wait until darkness gets here.” Shrugging he said, “We can watch them before they can get into place and take them out then.”

Celina nodded. “But you need to watch Jordan, he’s got blades in some very interesting places.

Don’t turn your back on him cuz he’ll stick a knife in your back sure as shit.

He’s a peach that way. He laughs about that because he says no one realizes he is a dangerous man.

” She just shook her head. “He’s a stupid sort of guy.

He brags about shit when he should just keep his big mouth shut. ”

Viktor stared at her then asked, “And your other brother, what does he like to brag about?”

“Caleb?” She shook her head. “He’ll look you right in the eyes and lie to you and then when you least expect it he’ll spit in your face and shove a blade in your belly.

He likes to catch you unaware and either hit you hard or hit you when you least expect it.

He thinks catching a person unaware is cool and makes him smarter than you.

Neither of them are worth a damn.” She shook her head and caught her breath.

“They both deserve a good old fashion beating.”

“Are they the ones who beat on you?” Viktor asked with an angry glint in his blue eyes.

Celina nodded. “They do it all the time. They let you think they’re harmless then they pound on you out of nowhere. Then when they get you down, they don’t know when to stop.”

Hondo turned and just walked across the room. He couldn’t listen to it anymore. He went to stand in front of the door while looking out the window.

Sergi and Hawkins came over to stand beside him.

“Those boys have a lot to answer for. And that’s a fact,” Hawkins stated. “No one should have to live with that.”

Hondo shook his head. “No senor, they shouldn’t have to live like that but you and I know that sort of thing happens more often than not. Some men are never taught not to hit or harm a woman. Their fathers never taught them that much.”

Sergi sighed. “Such men deserve much more than a beating and her brothers sound like the only way they will learn that lesson is to meet someone bigger and badder than them.” Then he smiled but the glee never reached his eyes.

“And I just happen to know such men. I’m sure they would be happy to give those two a lesson in such manners. ”

Hondo grinned. “Then let's take them to these men and ask them to teach them what their father should have.”

Sergi and Hawkins nodded.

“Their father murdered their mother and her sister,” Walter spoke up from behind them.

He looked enraged as he went on, “I want them alive if possible. They need to be strung up and receive...” He took a deep breath and released it.

“...a good beating. See how they like being someone’s punching bag. ”

“I can arrange for them to be caught like the rats they are.”

They all turned to see Viktor standing there.

He raised his cell and typed in his instructions.

Then looking up at the men he said, “My ghosts will leave them in this boathouse you have out back. Tied to the rafters.” He gave them a nod.

“They have already reported to me that there is a crew of twenty in the sedans. We have photos of Jordan and his brother Caleb. We got them from Serenity and Nicky.”

“Are you saying it will be that easy?”

They all looked over at Celina. She stood there while holding her hand to her ribs.

Walter swiftly stepped over to wrap his arm around her to support her weight.

Viktor gave her a nod. “Our plans usually work swiftly. There is human error to contemplate but my men have captured a total of 1,500 men over the years and some were as dark as any evil that exists. Smart and ruthless, well armed and protected. I never assume anything as it can turn out against you when that is your chosen recourse. However, my men are a combination of a ninja, a soldier and a real ghost. They are silent, deadly and almost invisible and so far, they are at 1500 and O.”

Sergi smirked. “And I do not believe your brothers can out maneuver those odds, Celina.”

“My men will surround the house,” Hondo stated. “So no one can get in. They will shoot out kneecaps and at arms raising a weapon as I am not one to order death. But I also do not want the law called in either.” He looked over at Sergi.

The Bratva leader nodded his head in understanding. “I know where to have them taken. It’s very cold there and very hard to escape unless you plan to face the wilderness and eight feet of snow.” Sergi shivered.

“Gracias, Senor Sergi,” Hondo said. “Muy bueno. They will all get out on bail, and then come here, looking to get their bosses back. Not for loyalty but money more than likely. I have seen it many times.”

“Da, so have we. Sometimes we allow the law in but if the perpetrators are dangerous, we do not.”

Walter walked Celina back to where he had his laptop set up to monitor the woods. He sat her on the couch next to where he would be.

“Those men are a bit scary, aren’t they?” she whispered to him as she motioned across the room to Viktor, Sergi and the group.

Walter chuckled. “Only to the bad guys, sweetness. Only to the bad guys.”
