The Werewolves #4
"Is that why they don't want me? Because I suck at flirting?"
"Braden and I have discussed this, and we think it's because they can tell you're still nervous."
Keely and Braden, and a lot of the other employees, can walk right up to a monster and prop themselves in their lap.
A few whispers and within moments, they are up out of their seats and following them down the hall to a private room in the back.
I haven't seen those, even after hours, but I'm pretty sure they aren't much more than a bed, or, for the half-kraken, mer-people and other water-folk, a little pool.
"You just want me to have sex with monsters."
"I want you to try something new. That's why you got this job, isn't it? To get out of your comfort zone?"
They're right; that is why I took it. And I've been telling myself that just being here is out of my comfort zone. But that's not true. On the first night, I was uncomfortable. But I adapted quickly. Serving drinks and being around people enjoying sex isn't pushing my limits.
I've had new, lofty life ideas of getting out of my parents' basement, maybe joining a dating app, going out to concerts, or taking myself out to dinner. I don't have a man like Danny making me feel like I'm not good enough anymore.
Keely walks over to the counter by the mirrors, opens a drawer and pulls out mouthwash, handing it over. "Here. This is industrial strength. The only thing the monsters will smell after this is mint. Use it, trust me."
I breathe into my hand and sniff. "It's not that bad."
Braden rolls his eyes, and they both saunter out of the room.
I wonder if they just came in here just to give me shit.
That makes me laugh. And it makes me feel like I'm part of their team.
Maybe this isn't so bad after all. I didn't come here looking for sex.
I came here looking for change, and I found it.
But I haven't pushed my limits yet.
I stand up with new determination and go in search of my boss. It's time I check out the lower deck.
West
"You need to nut that bad?" I grumble.
Nico laughs with his usual psychotic glee. His eyes are bright, teeth sharp, and he's practically hopping in place. He swings open the door to The Monster Playhouse, letting it drop behind him. Teddy catches it, and we all follow him in.
The scent of alcohol, sweat and sex blends with the otherworldly monster pheromones, each creature with their own signature. It's strong at first, and my wolf takes a second to adjust to the heady aromas.
Nico slaps his hands together and rubs them, taking a deep inhale. "Yes, my friend. I need to nut that bad. Can you smell the debauchery in the air? The sex? The fluids? The pussy?"
"We get it," Knox drones, slamming into Nico's shoulder as he storms past him. Knox acts like he's too good for this place, but he's already headed toward the lower deck. The four of us follow, and Nico points toward the brooding Knox, offering a lazy grin. "And I'm not the only one."
He's not wrong. We've been out on assignment for a few weeks. And with the dwindling population of female weres, there aren't many places to find a woman willing to handle not only a werewolf, but a pack of them. And even I can admit, my hand gets a little old.
"I need a drink," Teddy sighs as he steps up onto the platform with elevated tables. This section of the pleasure house seems like it should be more on display because it's raised, but there's actually a lot more privacy back here.
Not that we need it; none of us are prudes. But if I'm climbing into one of those chairs where the lower half of my body is hidden below so some mystery person can suck my cock, I'd rather keep my facial expressions to myself. And my pack, since there's no avoiding them.
Knox's already seated, but he has the lower cage in his seat locked, so whoever is below can't touch him.
He does this. He'll sit down and pretend he isn't going to partake.
Then he'll have a few drinks. And just before we're ready to leave, he'll press the buzzer and get off before we head back to our apartment uptown.
Then we'll get a call and go back out on assignment, running security detail as a team for some uppity human who likes to say his bodyguards are werewolves, and eventually, we'll make our way back home and do this whole song and dance all over again.
Teddy climbs in next to Knox, Arlo on the opposite side. I sit between Arlo and Nico, who already has the lower cage open and likely dropped his pants. Nico will get off as many times as he can tonight.
Usually, he starts his night on the main floor. There, the workers roam the space, and when you see someone you like, you can pay for time in a private room, if they're interested. With Nico, they always are.
Nico, and sometimes Teddy, spend an hour there before joining us at the lower deck section, but I prefer this.
It's not that I don't want to see who's getting me off.
It's just a means to an end, and I'd rather relax with my drink than try to flirt.
I'm too exhausted, and don't have the energy to socialize.
There are a handful of private round tables in the lower deck section, all separate from each other. It's usually quieter back here.
The rest of the Playhouse has vaulted cathedral ceilings, and though it's well-lit and massive, it has a cozy atmosphere.
This place is eclectic, suitable for all the monsters' needs.
The music is a combination of classical and some fae instrument that sounds like an ethereal sitar that vibrates at a low frequency, increasing the intensity in the atmosphere.
One section is designed for the water folk, with massive hot tubs recessed into the floor.
Another section is for the Earth folk—that one's bigger.
Not just because combined, there are more minotaurs, orcs and half-giants, but they take up so much more space.
The ground is covered in moss, and vines grow along the walls.
The fae and other trans-dimensional monsters congregate in the air section of the pleasure house, decorated with stained glass and cool marble.
Hundreds of monsters fill the room, some fucking right there in the open, most laughing, drinking beer and wine.
I eye Nico suspiciously. He's still rubbing his hands together like a cartoon villain. Normally, he'd tip his proverbial hat, and be off by now, and join us here later. He catches me staring and smirks. "What?"
"Why aren't you out on the floor?"
He pauses, smile dropping. I watch his wolf come forward, flashing gold in his eyes. Nico's teeth grit. "I don't know. I didn't even notice he was keeping me here. He won't let me leave."
"What the fuck does that mean?"
Nico furrows his brow then pretends to shrug it off, like it doesn't bother him. "He just wants me to stay here for a bit. I don't know why. Whatever, I'll hit the floors later."
I look over at Teddy, lifting my brows in question. He wears a similar expression, teeth gritting like he's arguing with his wolf. He shakes his head briefly, answering my unspoken question. His wolf wants him at this table too.
Keely and Braden wander over momentarily distracting me.
"There's my favorite pack," Braden coos, leaning his ass right on the table between Knox and Teddy. His pixie-like frame fits perfectly in the small space between the oversized werewolves in human form.
"There's my favorite kinky set of fae twins. How are you, darlings?" Nico flirts, forgetting all about his wolf's strange behavior.
Keely snuggles in between me and Arlo, resting one hand on each of our shoulders. She smells like raspberries; her brother smells like blackberries. Sweet and tart. My wolf comes to the surface to give her a sniff, then retreats.
None of us has ever been with the twins, but they've become good acquaintances. This room might be packed with monsters, but outside of the playhouse, once we all spread out in the city, the monster population feels small, so we tend to stick together.
"We're great, as always. We've got an orc back in the private Mountain Room getting ready for us. Said he had some surprise, and told us to wait ten minutes, so we're just killing time."
"What the fuck does that entail?" Knox grumbles. Like everything else that comes out of his mouth, he sounds like an asshole.
Braden, used to his antics, and since he likes to fuck with Knox, slaps his shoulder.
"Are you judging poor Ukey? I don't know what it entails, but he's putting in effort to woo us, and I, for one, am flattered.
When's the last time you wooed a woman, hmm?
Bet you never thought of sending the employees below deck some flowers.
Especially for taking that anaconda between your legs.
" Braden bounces his eyebrows, making Knox shift uncomfortably.
"I pay them. Well. That's enough."
"Is it?"
Before Knox can bite Braden's head off, Teddy pipes in. "I've always wondered. Since you two are, you know… Do you ever…?" Teddy smirks, eyes sparkling with mischief. He acts more and more like Nico every day, those two spend entirely too much time together.
"Are you asking if we fuck?" Keely snorts.
Teddy and Nico nod, looking back and forth between the twins with way too much curiosity.
"You two are idiots. Of course we don't fuck.
But we were born of the same womb; we're two sides of the same coin.
I go north, she goes south. Or vice versa.
We make an excellent team. You'd know that if you ever…
" Braden leans onto the table, clasping Teddy's chin in his hands.
He sticks out his tongue and licks the tip of Teddy's nose.
