10. Chapter 10
Rox
Ow, fucking, ow!
My entire body ached like a motherfucker. How much did I drink last night? Opening my eyes, I could see daylight streaming in from the window.
Fuck.
The last thing I remember was…oh shit. The endless orgasms at the hand of my fucking asshole ex-husband. I mean, I really shouldn’t complain, I hadn’t been so fucking hot and heavy for years. I’d loved every single minute of it, just like I always did when I was with him.
But it was a mistake.
A mistake I would never tell Beck.
Oh fuck, I hadn’t messaged him last night.
He was probably freaking out. Now, if I could only find my skirt where I’d had my phone zipped away in, I could try and make amends before he lost his cool.
Pulling myself up, I couldn’t believe the ache and soreness I had between my legs and all over my body.
Was it a good idea to go home with Myth’s marks all over me? Fuck, I’ll just tell Beck I was in a brawl at the clubhouse. He’d believe that. He already had a foul taste in his mouth when it came to the club.
Edging off the bed, I moved into the bathroom to shower. I could feel Myth’s cum on my thighs. Fuck, first I needed to find a pharmacy to get Plan B, then I needed to get to an airport.
I moved past the floor length mirror on my way, something catching my eye in the reflection. Stepping back in front of it, I felt as if my entire world had shifted on its axis.
There, on my stomach in large black letters was his brand.
Property of arching over the top of my belly button, and Myth underneath it. That fucking wanker. He didn’t brand me knowing I was going home to my fiancé…no. He couldn’t have. He wouldn’t be that cruel.
His words from last night filtered through my mind. He wasn’t going to let me leave.
Well, fuck you, buddy.
Haven’t you been cheating on me for fifteen years? You’re still my wife.
Fuck. I moved to the edge of the bed and slunk against it, my stomach hurting from the pain and the gauze protecting the fresh ink.
I stood up again, only noticing the fresh pain between my breasts now.
Edging closer to the mirror, I was about to scream when I read in clean, neat script, “Adrian’s wife”.
Fuck.
Anger pierced me from inside out, and I moved into the shower, getting cleaned up enough to leave. I was so far gone from being pissed off, I could barely breathe.
I never should have come back.
I washed the fresh tears away and quickly dried, ignoring the new ink, and the feelings it stirred inside of me, before I found a shirt of his, and tucked it into my skirt, making it look semi fashionable, before I pulled my boots on.
Where the fuck was my phone?
There, on the bedside table. I tapped the screen but it was dark.
Oh good, it’s off. Which meant Beck was probably losing his ever loving mind.
I’d never hear the end of it, and then he’d see my new ink and freak out.
He’d probably book the appointment to get the ink removed.
Lord knew he had tried with my other pieces already.
Pulling my hair up in a messy bun, I moved out of the bedroom and into the clubhouse main room. No one was around except for a few club girls and some of the non-officer patched members.
A woman was working behind the bar that I recognised from last night. She was on the phone, paying attention to whoever was on the other line.
Fuck it.
It’s not like I needed to leave a goddamn note. Marching outside, I was assaulted with the fresh smell of BBQ, my stomach grumbling. When was the last time I ate?
Fuck that. I could eat at the airport. I just needed to get away from the Royal Bastards compound.
Heading toward the gate, I noticed a young guy in the gatehouse.
“Open it up.”
He looked at me, then at his friend, and back at me. “Um. We’re on orders not to let you leave.”
“Why? You don’t even know who I am.”
“You’re prez’s ol’ lady,” the other one said. “Gave us a picture and all. Sorry. He’s on a run, he’ll be back soon and then you can talk.”
“Fucking open this gate now, you pissweak little fucking ant before I stomp on you.”
“Whoa,” the first little bitch boy said, throwing his hands up in defense. “We’re just the messengers, lady. Take it up with the Prez.”
“Open the gate.”
I was losing my patience with these miscreants already. Funny how being back here had given me back the spine I had been lacking these past few years.
“Sorry, ma’am.”
“Did you just call me ma’am?” I bit back, lowering my gaze to the fuckwit, who finally had the brains to look worried.
“Uh…Rox…”
“Open the goddamn gate, prospect.”
“Miss…”
“Fine, but what happens next is on you.”
I marched back inside, enraged now. The one thing about my relationship with Myth, he trusted me. He told me everything and I'd known him since he was sixteen. If he was anything, he was a creature of habit. Moving around the room, I looked for his lockbox. That’s when I saw it.
The note on the other bedside table with a glass of water and painkillers.
Be my good girl and get some rest. We’ll talk when I’m back.
Don’t even try to leave. The boys are under strict instruction not to let you.
And they listen to their Prez.
Hope you like the new ink.
Adrian x
My fury was building and I could hardly hold back anymore. I scrunched up the note and tossed back the painkillers with the water, before I searched for his lockbox.
There, under a basket of laundry he never put away—typical—was his beloved box of goodies. I moved to the codebox and entered our wedding date, boom.
Opened.
Funny, how we both still used that code for everything.
I didn’t want to look too far into the reasons behind that, but when the box opened, I pulled out his piece. The one his father gifted him when he patched in. His pride and joy.
I’d leave it at the gate when I got out, but it was on those boys for getting in between me and my escape.
I moved back out, gun in hand, ignoring everyone around me and marched back to the gate. The boys were both standing now, worried expressions on their faces.
“Um…miss?”
I aimed the gun at them, and motioned for the gate to be opened.
“Rox…”
“Open the goddamn gate, prospect, or I’ll put a hole in you.”
“You wouldn’t—”
I shot at his feet, making the little fuckwit dance with fear. Moving the gun higher, I held it steady.
“Rox,” I heard Flash say from behind me.
He’d hightailed it out of here fast last night, leaving me in the clutches of my fucking ex-husband who marked me with his teeth, cock and ink.
I turned the gun on him. He held his hands up, moving in front of the other two.
“We can’t disobey the Prez, you know that. Please, come inside and I’ll call him.”
I shot at the gate behind him. All three boys jumped to the ground, and I moved over to the gate. Punching the green button, I watched as the gate slowly opened with a rickety sound. Flash was on his feet, but he made no move to stop me. I turned the gun around, and handed it to him.
“Give this back to Adrian.”
“Please…you know he’s going to lose it when he finds out you’re gone.”
I stepped a foot outside the compound grounds. “Good.” Turning on my heel, I marched down the street the compound was on and toward my future.
Where I hoped my fiancé would take me back and understand I had no choice in what happened last night.
But I think I already knew it was a lost cause. Even still, I couldn’t keep playing games with Myth.
He’d sink me again, and I’d never be able to pull myself back up to the surface. I barely did the first time.
Letting my tears fall, I mentally said goodbye to Australia. If I came back, he’d never let me go again.
I’d probably never let him.
