11. Chapter 11 #2
My eyes shot outside, through the glass windows, and there, along with all the cars picking up loved ones was my ex-husband, leaning against a car. Goddamn, he looked good.
No, fuck… angry, you’re angry at him.
I wheeled my luggage out to where he was leaning against the car, looking as cool as he could. He pocketed his phone and smiled down at me when I stood in front of him.
“Are you fucking serious?” I seethe.
“Deadly,” he replied. His cheeky grin was gone and in its place was a scowl, dark enough to scare even me. “Get in the goddamn car, Rox.”
“You can’t tell me what to do, Adrian. I’ll call the cops…tell them what you did.”
My stomach dropped when I saw the way he pushed off the car and crowded close to me. I swallowed the lump forming in my throat.
“Oh yeah? You’d rat out a Royal Bastard?
You think I don’t have someone on the inside, kitten?
You think my brothers would let you do that to me?
” he growled. My heart raced at his proximity, my thighs clenched at the way he growled, at his heat.
No matter how angry he was, I could see it in his eyes.
The desire, the lust, the yearning.
Did he see that in my eyes as well?
“You need to give me my money back. I earned it, it’s mine.”
“I wouldn’t steal from you, Rox. Come back to the clubhouse.”
“Why won’t you let me go? Look what you did to my body!” I felt the tears start to fall. Myth had a way about him. A way to make me feel like I was precious, and the way he cupped my face in his big palms, his thumbs stroking my tears from my face, it felt…good.
Too good.
“Get in the car, kitten.”
He grabbed my luggage and tossed it into the boot before he rounded the driver’s side of the car and got in. I was left, standing there, fuming, with fresh tears on my face.
Fuck this asshole.
I had nowhere else to go and he knew it.
I could run, find a security officer or a police officer. I could tell them what the big, bad Royal Bastard did to me. They would lock him up, sure, but then I’d have the entire clubhouse on my ass. I’d never make it out alive, ol’ lady or not.
And, I’d never do that.
I could never.
Whether I liked him or not, right now, I had no choice.
“Get in the goddamn car, Rox.”
His tone was grating. He was losing his patience, and even that was limited on a good day. It would be in my best interest to get in the car.
Finally, I opened the passenger door and got in. He didn’t wait for me to put my seatbelt on, he took off into the Sydney traffic. The tension between us was icy, as he roared through the streets of Sydney toward the clubhouse.
I swept my silent tears from my face, doing anything but scratching at my new ink on my stomach. My fingers fidgeted the closer we got to the clubhouse, but Myth remained silent.
What was I going to tell Beck?
Beck!
Fishing my phone out of my pocket, I pulled the messages up. Oh god. There were dozens. Missed calls. Messages that seemed to go on forever. A cold chill runs down my spine.
He was furious.
Opening the message thread, I look down at the last message sent.
BECK
Fuck you, asshole. I’m coming to get her. She’s not yours anymore.
What the fuck?
Scrolling up, I see the photo of me passed out on the bed with a smirking Adrian standing in front of me, and the subsequent message that led to Beck’s response.
“You asshole!”
Myth turned to me, a stormy expression on his face, before he turned into the compound and parked the car. Looking down at my phone, he smirked slightly, and got out of the car.
Pushing open my door, I round on him, ready to tear strips off him when he bends down, throws me over his shoulder and marches into the clubhouse. I scream, and belt my hands on his back to let me down. No one so much as looks in our direction as he heads down the hall and back to his bedroom.
“Asshole, put me the fuck down!”
My stomach was so sore where he had thrown me over his shoulder, but I was more enraged that he thought he could just march me around like a fucking caveman. Turned on, sure, but pissed off mostly.
Once we got to his bedroom, he threw me down on the bed and started to walk away.
Oh hell no. I bounced right back up on my feet, stomping after him.
Once he got to the door, he closed it, locking us both inside, and leaned against it, turning his eyes on me.
I halted in my steps before I got too close, and started to back up.
I knew that look.
That possessive, devil-may-care look that usually ended up with my panties ripped to shreds and my pussy throbbing for days.
“Adrian, please…this is my life you’re messing with.”
“What life? You mean, a life away from your family and friends? One you left fifteen years ago without a care in the world? Do you forget us so easily?”
“I didn’t want to be a laughing stock while you had your cock out for any fucking female who looked in your direction. It’s not like you were home fucking your supposed wife.”
“We were fighting all the fucking time.”
“So you say fuck it…let’s get my dick sucked by my wife’s best friend?” I round on him, the hurt seeping back into my chest, causing a cavity of hurt to open up.
“I didn’t… I wasn’t thinking straight. I was scared of losing you and I knew I was losing you by that point. You never came to the club, you just stayed home doing whatever the fuck you wanted. I needed you.”
I could feel my anger slipping away as I saw the hurt in his eyes. Myth wasn’t known for his emotions, so for him to break like this, for him to admit I had been hurting him was a lot.
“Why didn’t you tell me that?” I asked.
“I couldn’t show weakness,” he answered quickly. “I had a club that needed me to be ruthless. But when it came to you, I was…”
“You were never weak, Adrian. Headstrong and passionate, absolutely, but you were never weak.”
He scoffed. “When it came to you, yeah, baby, I was. I still am.”
The revelation hit me like a tonne of bricks. I lifted my shirt, letting the cool air hit my fresh tattoo. “Is this why you did this?”
“I did it because you should have always had it. You’re my ol’ lady.”
“Let me go, Adrian. That other girl from yesterday would love the title.”
“I don’t give a fuck. I told you once we marry, that was it.”
“We were seventeen!”
Myth crossed the distance between us, crowding me until I felt the backs of my thighs hit the bed. His arm scooped around my waist and held me steady, his other had cupped my jaw. “It still stands.”
I couldn’t stop the moan that erupted from me when he kissed me hard, brutal. Claiming me all over again. I’d never recovered from the way Myth could kiss. It was consuming in the best possible way.
All too soon, he pulled away, leaving me mindless for a moment. “I’ve got shit to do. Stay here.”
He was moving toward the door. When my brain caught up to what was happening, I bolted but got there just as I heard the door slam shut and the lock turn.
No!
Rattling the doorknob did nothing. I balled my fists, letting my anger ignite once more, and pounded on the door. It was no use.
No one would turn against their prez in his own clubhouse. I knew that all too well. I turned, and slid down the door, tears flowing freely. I was stuck here.
At my ex-husband’s mercy.
