16. Chapter 16
Myth
“You remember how to ride?” I asked her, while I handed her the helmet I’d always kept for her in the shed.
She snatched the helmet from me and I chuckled before I got on the bike, and made sure she was comfortable before I started my beast. Rox’s arms wound around my waist, and I had to fight not to groan at the contact. Now wasn’t the time.
If anything, she was probably going to either recoil or hate me once I told her what I did after she left. Mentally, I tried to prepare myself for her rejection but I knew even if I tried, it would do nothing compared to the real thing. But I also would never lie to her.
Ever.
As we rode out of the compound, I headed toward the Royal National Park. There was a section there, closed off to cars but I could get through on my bike. No one knew about it.
It was why it had been so perfect.
We wouldn’t be interrupted.
Once we got there, I hopped off the bike and helped Rox to stand. She undid her helmet and placed it on the back of the bike, while she looked around.
A small creek was babbling close by, but the place I’d gone had been closed off to the public for almost twenty years. We were alone.
“Why did you bring me here?”
“Do you really want me to talk about her?” I asked her, wondering if this had been a mistake.
She turned to me, her arms crossing over her chest as she looked around nervously. “Yes. I need to know.”
“Why?”
“I knew you had girls on your dick, Adrian. I wasn’t stupid. I saw the way you were with the bunnies back then, but it’s one thing to hear about rumours, it’s another to see your best friend on your husband’s dick, first hand.”
I scrubbed a hand down my face, feeling every inch of hurt in her voice.
“I wasn’t fucking around with them, Rox. I never was. And I never let her suck my dick.”
“Bullshit. I saw the way you were with them, it’s why I stopped coming to the clubhouse. It hurt me too much to see how they would all fawn over you like you were their favourite lollipop.”
“Yeah, I flirted, but I never touched them. Do you want to know why I flirted, Rox?” I asked her.
With the subtle shrug of her shoulder, I continued, “because when you would get jealous or mad, you’d lay your claim on me.
You’d fuck me like a beast and have me walking funny for days.
I did it so we could fuck like beasts for hours. ”
“That’s ridiculous."
“Is it?”
She was thinking, probably remembering, and it did something to my cock that she was thinking about it.
“I saw you with Stacey, Adrian.”
“Look, yeah, you did, and I know how fucked that was. Trust me, I know. I hated myself for it, but it’s in the past. I let that cunt get in my head, made me think you didn’t want me anymore.
You hadn’t come to the clubhouse in weeks, you never wanted me in our bed, you shunned me, Rox.
I was hurting, and fucking blind drunk when she came into my office.
She’d flirted before, but never done anything stupid with me.
I should have fucking known when she came in, and offered to take my mind off you.
I should have seen what she was doing but I was heartbroken, and she said the right shit to make me hate myself. ”
“You never had time for me.”
“I know, Rox. I fucking know and that’s my fault. I know that,” I confessed. “It’s always been you. How could you not know that? Since that day in detention, baby, you and me.”
Her eyes shimmered in the daylight, unshed tears welling, but I didn’t go to her like every instinct I had told me to, I held back, letting her feel the things that she’s held inside for all this time.
“You’re avoiding the question, Adrian,” she spat. “What happened to Stacey?”
I stepped closer to her, bridging the distance that had been tearing at me since we got here.
“She fucked with my ol’ lady,” I told her, gravely. “I think you know what happened.”
Rox sucked in a deep breath, surprised, and yet somehow, not surprised.
“Tell me.”
“After you fled, I was too drunk to do anything. I could barely stand straight. She basically admitted to sending you the text to lure you there. She wanted the title of the Prez’s ol’ lady. I told her it would never happen but I could see something in her eyes. She knew I’d lost you.”
“That’s why you didn’t come after me.”
“Yeah, that night I couldn’t see straight. I wouldn’t have been able to ride. The next day, I went home and your stuff was gone. I was furious.”
“What happened next?”
“I got back to the clubhouse, and I overheard that cunt telling the other girls how you were moving her stuff in since she was my ol’ lady now. I saw red. Making out that I was taking her for a ride. She was eager and willing.”
“So you brought her here?”
I nodded. “Yes. It’s cut off from the main park, no one comes down the trail anymore, not even back then.”
She looked around, at the forestry around us, the thick brush, the creek that led down into a deeper river system. The only sounds were the birds above and the lizards skittering around for food.
“How?” she asked. “How did you kill her?”
My chest swelled. Would she recoil and leave me when she knew how callous I’d been or would she embrace the darkness inside her soul…the one I was called to back in those days we spent in detention.
“How’d you know?”
“Come on, Adrian. I’m not stupid. Why would you bring her here to fuck her…and since you seem to be pussyfooting around the whole what happened to Stacey shit…I know it’s dark…so just tell me already.”
I chuckled, wiping a hand down over my face. Fuck me, I wanted her on her back and my cock buried deep inside her right now. Her fire was coming back and it had me hard as fucking stone.
“You sure, kitten?”
“Adrian, tell me now or I’ll beat you over the head with the helmet.”
I turned her in my arms, my hands on her hips, my mouth hovering over her ear. I could feel the tension in her body as she looked out at the spot I needed her to see.
“I brought her here, leading her over to that tree,” I told her.
Rox’s eyes were on the large tree in front of us.
“She thought I’d fuck her against it. I couldn’t stand the idea of touching her.
I had her like this, my chest to her back, my hands on her neck and I bent down to her ear, and I said, You fucked with my ol’ lady, and the punishment is death, before I knocked her the fuck out. ”
“That’s it?” she asked, wheeling around and looking up into my eyes. “That’s all?”
“Of course that’s not all, babe,” I said, pushing her hair behind her ears. “Are you sure you want to know the rest?”
Rox nodded. “I need to know.”
“I tied her up with the ropes from my saddle bag, tight. Waking her up before I carved your name into her stomach. She was screaming, crying that she was sorry, that she loved me, all the usual crap people proclaim when they know their life is forfeit.”
Rox smirked. “Do your enemies normally proclaim their undying love for you before you kill them?”
Fuck me, I loved her.
“Probably, not that I’d listen to them. Whiney bastards.”
“So you carved her…for the animals, right?”
“Yes. It didn’t take long. She was dead a few days later, half eaten. I came back a few months later when I heard they were putting some railings in around here. I scattered her bones around the forest.”
She was looking at the tree, silently. I would give anything to know what she was thinking right now, but I remained quiet behind her. It was a lot to process…especially for someone who wasn’t used to this kind of world. I mean, she was, but it had been a while.
Slowly, Rox started to move across the flats of the dirt toward the creek. Jumping onto the rocks throughout the creek, she jumped up to the tree. I followed, as I always would, keeping a distance.
“What are you thinking, baby?” I finally asked, my heart hammering in my chest, fear lacing through my veins like fire.
“I’m wondering how long it’s going to take you to come over here and fuck me against this tree.”
When she turned to face me, I saw it. The fierce determination in her eyes that told me she was mine.
She was choosing me.
Us.
I closed the distance between us in a heartbeat, throwing her up against the tree. “You’re going to take every fucking inch of me against this tree, Rox. Then you’re coming home with me and I’m going to fuck my baby into you.”
Rox
The bark of the tree bit into my back but I didn’t dare cry out. I was getting exactly what I needed. My husband, in all his brutal glory.
The man who destroyed the woman who would do me harm.
Myth ripped my panties to the side, his fingers rough as he slid them into me. He growled when he felt how wet I was for him. How wet I always was for him. His belt was next, and then, his cock nudged at my entrance.
“Fuck me,” I told him when I felt him hesitate. “Fuck me right here, where she died, so that cunt’s spirit can watch what she could never have.”
“Mine,” Myth growled as he slammed into me in one thick thrust. Pain mixed with immense pleasure as he pounded me against the tree where he’d taken a life for me. I held on as he fucked me as hard as he could, showing me just how much he loved me. How much he had always loved me.
Tears fell over my cheeks at the years of longing, of yearning for him, and the years lost because I’d never come home. Only love could ever hurt you like this, and he was the only one I had ever truly loved.
I wanted this.
I wanted him.
His darkness, his possessiveness, his jealousy. I wanted it all, and I wanted to be the balm to his ailment. I wanted him to be my world, and for me to be his.
I wanted it all with him.
I don’t know when it happened, but my decision had come in blaring clarity, sometime when he’d told me what he did to Stacey. I’d never leave him again.
