MARRIAGE FIRST, LOVE LATER
prologue
Later that night, everyone was sitting at the dining table when Renuka Maa asked me softly, "Beta, did Avyukt say when he'll come back?"
I hesitated because he hadn't told me anything. But before I could answer, the front door opened.
Before i reply.....
Avyukt walked inside quietly, but something about him felt different. His shirt buttons were open from the top, sleeves folded till his elbows, hair messy, and his whole body looked exhausted and covered in sweat.
"I already ate outside," he said without looking at anyone before walking straight toward the study room.
Dad looked at me gently. "Go check what happened, beta."
I quickly went upstairs, but as soon as I reached near the study room, my steps stopped. The door wasn't fully closed, and from inside I heard Avyukt's voice-cold, angry, dangerous.
"How dare that bastard even look at my belonging?"
My breath got stuck.
"Right now he only got his head and hand broken. Next time, I'll kill him."
I saw Fresh blood on his hand...
I quietly stepped back before he could notice me and walked straight toward the bedroom. By the time I sat on the edge of the bed, my legs already felt weak.
Suddenly...
this marriage didn't feel simple anymore.
A few minutes later, Renuka Maa, Siya, and Ruhi walked into the room. Maa looked at me carefully and asked softly, "Beta... you didn't go to the study room, right?"
Maa sighed lightly and sat beside me. "Good that you didn't go. Avyukt rarely gets angry... but when he does, even I don't go in front of him."
Ruhi flopped dramatically onto the bed and crossed her arms. "Exactly! When he's angry, he ignores me too. Normally only he spoils me in this house, but when Bhaiya gets mad, he forgets I'm even his sister."
Siya looked shocked. "But what even happened? How can someone suddenly get this angry while working?"
Ruhi shrugged before moving closer to her. "Something must've happened. Forget it. Bhaiya's probably going to stay in the study room tonight anyway."
Renuka Maa gently stroked my head before standing up. "Just let him calm down till morning. Don't go there to call him."
After they all left, silence filled the room again.
I was still sitting on the edge of the bed when suddenly I stood up hearing the door open.
Avyukt walked inside.
The first thing I noticed was that his shirt buttons were properly closed now. His sleeves were rolled down, and there wasn't a single trace of blood visible on his hands anymore.
Without saying anything, he opened the closet, took out comfortable clothes, and walked into the bathroom.
A few minutes later, he came out wearing a dark grey night suit, drying his hair with a towel.
I was still standing in the exact same place.
He casually sat down on the couch while rubbing his wet hair and said, "There's a burger and blueberry cheesecake in my car. Tell the staff to bring it."
I stared at him in shock.
Just some time ago, this man sounded ready to kill someone...
and now he was calmly telling me he brought my favorite food.
He looked toward me. "What happened? I forgot to bring food for everyone else, So bring it upstairs and eat it in room."
He was trying to sound soft, but the anger hidden underneath still made his voice cold.
Before he could say anything more, I quickly walked out of the room.
Seriously...
the more I saw him, the harder he became to understand.
When I returned, Avyukt was already lying on the couch with his eyes closed.
I stood there awkwardly with the food in my hands. I didn't have the courage to ask anything... but at the same time, I couldn't eat alone either.
As if sensing I was still there, he opened his eyes slightly and said coldly,
"Go eat in the balcony. Throw everything in the dustbin afterward and sleep early without making a mess."
