Chapter 131 The Unbreakable Masterpiece

Celina stood just inside the threshold of the Dumbo warehouse, her fingers tightening around the leather strap of her clutch as she took in the sweeping grandeur of the space.

It was completely magnificent. The architecture was flawless, the crowd was elite, and the abstract canvases mounted to the walls were alive with a raw, bleeding human emotion that nearly took her breath away.

Teresa did this, Celina thought; a bittersweet pride aching in her chest. Her best friend successfully conquered her dream.

But as her eyes swept off the floor, they immediately locked onto the unified front standing near the center of the hall.

Teresa was laughing softly at something Carlos had whispered into her ear, her frame leaning completely, comfortably into his broad chest.

Carlos was looking down at her with an intense, unvarnished devotion that completely defied the cold corporate mask he usually wore to face Wall Street.

Celina felt a profound tightness compressing her chest.

She had spent the last three months trying to convince her mind that this sudden marriage was a clinical, calculated business contract - a transaction engineered solely to manipulate the inheritance clause.

But watching them stand together under the gallery lights, her analytical mind was forced to accept a completely different reality.

There wasn't a single drop of deception in that perimeter. The way Carlos protectively anchored his hand to her waist, the electric current passing between their skin, the absolute faith in Teresa's eyes... it was real. They were passionate, completely in love.

"They look unassailable," Celina whispered softly to her husband.

Justin didn't break his freezing glare from his cousin's profile. "They look prepared, Celina. But appearance is a strategy."

"Look past your boardroom strategy for one second, Justin," Celina urged quietly, her fingers touching his sleeve. "Look at her face. Look at his eyes. This isn't a fake business deal anymore. Carlos loves her. And Teresa has completely given him her heart. Your lawyers are hunting for ghosts."

Justin’s sharp jaw locked into stone, but before he could formulate a response, Carlos and Teresa were already crossing the polished concrete floor, heading directly toward their position. The crowd around them fell into a hushed anticipation, sensing the collision of the dynasty.

"Justin. Celina," Carlos stated flatly, his deep baritone smooth and entirely devoid of warmth as he stopped a few feet away. "We weren't entirely certain your calendar would allow for an appearance tonight."

"I always make time to personally inspect a rival's assets, Carlos," Justin countered coldly, his voice dropping into a dangerous executive register. "The gallery is impressive. Your wife is remarkably talented."

"Thank you, Justin," Teresa said, stepping forward, her chin lifted proudly as she looked at the CEO in the face. "But my husband is the one who guaranteed the sanctuary to show it. We built this together."

Celina stepped around the friction of the two men, her eyes locking onto her best friend's face. The three months of tentative texts and careful distance completely dissolved in a single beat of shared sisterhood.

"It is absolutely breathtaking, Teresa," Celina said, her voice cracking slightly with a raw, unfiltered emotion. "The crimsons, the gold. I see your entire soul on these walls. I am so proud of you."

Teresa’s guarded posture instantly softened, a beautiful, vulnerable warmth illuminating her dark eyes as she looked at her anchor. "Thank you, Celina. Your presence tonight means more to my heart than every single canvas in this building."

Celina reached out, her fingers catching Teresa’s hand, giving it a tight, emotional squeeze.

The gold band on Teresa's finger brushed against her skin.

The family war was swirling violently around their heads, and their husbands were currently preparing to tear the empire apart at the next shareholder assembly - but looking at her best friend, Celina knew their bond was safe.

The contract of marriage had changed the game forever, but their sisterhood was still an unbreakable masterpiece.
