Chapter 134 The Abduction

Outside the towering glass headquarters of Mason Industries, the rain fell in torrents, washing over the black tactical gear worn by Amelia Grant.

She was crouched in the shadows of a secure transport vehicle parked two blocks away from the building, her fingers rapidly clicking across a handheld tracking terminal. The moment the tower’s lights had dropped, her screen had gone completely dead, a high-frequency static jamming her radio lines.

"Derek! Come in, Derek!" Amelia hissed into her secure comm line, her pulse hammering at a dangerous velocity. "The Mason tower has gone into a total network blackout. Cross’s mercenaries have successfully initiated the lockdown sequence inside the executive tier."

"I am currently tracking a secondary anomaly, Amelia," Derek Cooper's rough baritone cracked frantically through the static of her earpiece.

He was stationed near the Brooklyn shipyard safehouse where they had left Teresa insulated under private guard.

"The private security line surrounding the loft just collapsed. Daniel Cross didn't just target the boardroom floor, Amelia... it was a dual-vector attack."

Amelia’s heart instantly dropped into a freezing void of pure terror. "Derek, talk to me - what is the status of the safehouse?"

A sudden, violent burst of gunfire erupted over the radio frequency, followed by the terrifying sound of splintering wood and screaming tires.

"The perimeter has been violently breached by a team of Cordova Group operatives!"

Derek roared against the static, his weapon firing in rapid succession in the background.

"They bypassed our electronic shields, Amelia! They didn't come to New York for the boardroom blueprints... they came to seize the leverage!"

"Derek!" Amelia screamed, sprinting toward her vehicle as the rain lashed her face. "Is she secure?!"

"Teresa is gone!" Derek’s voice cracked with a devastating, high-octane panic before the transmission permanently dissolved into dead static. "The mercenaries successfully executed the extraction play! Teresa has been taken!"

The screen of Amelia’s terminal cut to an absolute, crushing total blackness.

Inside the locked boardroom, Carlos, Justin, Dominic, and Derek were completely blind to the fallout - entirely unaware that the global syndicate had successfully stolen the queen of their empire to use as political leverage for a shadow war.

The contract marriages were shattered, the boardroom lines were broken, and the ultimate rescue mission was officially live.
