Chapter 19
Alec
I placed my dog tags and my wedding band into the black ammo box along with my wallet and a leather necklace Krispin had made for me on Father's Day.
It had a Superman charm on it.
The rest of my team followed suit.
And then it was closed and would be locked up for safekeeping until the moment we were done.
And then, we locked eyes, nodded, and said, “Let’s rain hellfire.”

I took my dog tags, my ring, and my wallet and put them all back into place and pocketed the leather necklace.
And the moment we got on the plane to head home, I undid the chain, pulled my ring off, clasped it back, put it back around my neck, and slid my wedding band back on my finger.
Then I wove the leather necklace around my neck and attached it.
My team watched and then nodded.
The stewardess winked at me, and I held up my left hand.
That flirtatious look she had been wearing was now gone.
However, it had come back when she eyed Ice.
He shook his head, “Nope. His wife wouldn’t have flirted with one man and then moved on to the next.”
I grinned, “She’s one of a kind.”
“I’m going to find a way to clone her.” He said.
I reached over and punched him in the jaw, “The fuck you will.”
He laughed.
Then I was tempted to get out of my seat and beat the hell out of my team when they had agreed with Ice.
Fuckers.
Me – On the plane.
Me – Missed you guys.
Cupcake – We love you. We missed you.
Cupcake – I’ll let them know.
Then I leaned back as the plane started taking off and closed my eyes.
The moment I had gotten the all clear from the doctor to return to work, Cassie had been understanding.
Fuck, but I loved that woman.
My family... not so much.
***
The times I came home looked a whole lot different now.
I looked out the window and saw my woman and my son standing side by side.
My dad had his arm around my mom’s shoulders.
Carter was standing next to Harlee, Everly, Lila, and Talia.
Ethan was there along with Bronson and Dom.
Garrick had his arm around Tatum, and Sage was standing with the rest of the kiddos who made up our family.
The moment the door opened, and I walked down the steps, I saw my little man.
He came running.
I dropped my bag, and then lifted him the moment he reached me, against my neck he said, “Missed you,Daddy.”
I grinned, “Missed you too.”
He had come a long way.
And with our love and a good doctor, Krispin was now the size that most six-year-olds were.
My woman was smiling as she made it to me, and I wrapped my arm around her waist and pulled her close.
Then I pressed a kiss on her lips.
My team said their hellos to my family, and then they loaded up in their own vehicles and headed to their homes.
Yeah, did I mention that after I was in the hospital, they had all relocated?
Now, they were officially living in and on the outskirts of Whispering Falls.
And I couldn’t be happier.
I sat Krispin on his feet and chuckled as he raced to Cole.
The two of them had a weird bond, but I loved it.
I looked down at Cassie and smiled.
She winked, “Would you like it if Krispin spent the night at Bronson’s tonight?”
I waggled my brows, “Oh?”
She nodded.
Then I looked at Bronson and called out, “You have him?”
Bronson chuckled and gave me a thumbs-up.
I nodded, bent, grabbed my bag, and then scooped Cassie up and threw her over my shoulder.
Laughter followed us all the way to my truck.
I was driving deep into her hot, wet heat when she whispered, “I love you, Alec Griggs.”
Then, as I pulled out and slammed back in, I whispered, “I love you too, Cassie Griggs.”
