Chapter 31
Chapter Thirty-One
Avery
Monday night with her friends when the Doms had their own class was starting to feel like a tradition, and one she was very glad about, especially this week.
Iris hadn’t wanted to talk on Saturday night after she’d finally been released from Master Patrick’s office, but at least she hadn’t been kicked out of the club.
She hoped Iris might be a little chattier today because she was dying to know what had happened.
“It really wasn’t that interesting,” Iris said, rolling her eyes as she took a sip of her beer.
They’d gathered at Rae and Domi’s, which was empty tonight.
Ana was with her dad, and Mitch was out with his friends, giving them total privacy and plenty of space to spread out the pizza they’d ordered.
“Master Law was all ‘blah blah blah, Iris was disrespectful,’ then Patrick was all ‘blah, blah, blah, Iris, how many times do I have to tell you?’ He put me on server duty for the next month.”
“That’s not so bad.” Rae looked surprised but impressed. She was sitting on the couch with Iris while Domi and Avery had taken the two armchairs on either end of the coffee table. “I thought it would be way worse.”
“I also have homework.” Iris made a face.
“I’m supposed to spend an hour in the Dungeon every shift and take note of different kinks and how the submissive is reacting, not how it makes me feel.
I get that, but like… ugh. My best friend growing up was a bigger girl.
She had a boyfriend who called her fat and put her down, making her feel like shit.
She ended up in the hospital with anorexia. ”
“Yikes. Is she okay now?” Domi asked before Avery could.
“Yeah, but she moved away. She couldn’t stand to be in this area anymore. Too many memories.” Even though Iris didn’t say it, it was clear she missed her friend. Avery sympathized. Even though she was the one who had moved away from her friends, it was hard feeling alone.
“I should have walked away. It just… I don’t know. I knew I should, then the next thing I knew, I was yelling at him.” Iris shrugged one shoulder, but Avery got the feeling she was more upset about it than she was letting on.
“Next time, yell your safe word,” Avery joked. “Then when the DM comes, make him carry you away.”
“That could be fun.” Iris perked up as Domi and Rae giggled. Then she made a face. “Well, as long as it’s not Master Law on duty. I will be happy if I never see that man again.”
“Yeah, you two are like… Law and disorder,” Rae raised her glass, toasting Iris. “Get it? Like Law and Order, but you’re disorder.”
“My brother used to call me Chaos,” Iris mused. “I think I like ‘Disorder’ even better, especially when it comes to Master Law. I swear, that man has no sense of humor. Does anyone know what kind of law he practices?”
They looked around at each other blankly. That appeared to be a ‘no.’
“Well, at least I get a break from him tonight.” Iris leaned back against the couch, letting her head drop back with relief.
“Do you know what they’re doing in class tonight?” Rae asked, leaning forward to pick up another slice of pizza.
Avery pressed her lips together. She knew, but Nick hadn’t been very excited. As open-minded as he was, she had a feeling he was going to struggle tonight. She didn’t think he’d really like knowing she’d told her friends about it. Though they probably could find out, anyway.
“I do…”
“It’s butt stuff night.” Iris grinned at the look Avery shot in her direction. “What? This way, you didn’t have to be the one to tell, so you can’t be in trouble.”
Well, she wasn’t wrong. Iris being the one to tell wasn’t Avery’s fault.
Rae rolled her eyes.
“It’s funny. They’re all eager to put stuff in our butts, but when the tables are turned…”
“Hey, speak for yourself. Mitch enjoys a little back door action sometimes,” Domi said, wiggling her index finger in Rae’s direction.
“Ew, don’t say things like that, then point that at me!”
Dissolving into laughter, Avery could only shake her head. Yup, she had found her people.
Nick
Wiping his hands against the outsides of his thighs, Nick tried to pretend as if the idea of something going into his butt didn’t bother him. The sweaty palms he’d just tried to dry on his pants indicated otherwise.
“They’re enjoying this,” Q muttered under his breath, glaring balefully at the center stage where Master Law and Mistress Julie were unloading a box full of new toys, still in their plastic packaging.
As usual, Master Law was in his business suit.
Today, Mistress Julie was wearing a pencil skirt and a ruffled top with three-inch spiked high heels.
She looked like the hot librarian who would eat your heart out if you damaged a book.
They looked as though they were enjoying themselves, at least Mistress Julie did, as she glanced over at him, Q, and Connor every time she took out a new toy, wanting to see their reactions.
Sadist.
“Could be worse, I guess,” Q mused. Nick had noticed he had a bit of a penchant for talking out loud, though he was doing so quietly enough only Nick and Connor could hear him right now. “At least Sam’s not here to watch.”
She’d been excused having already experienced this as a submissive.
The submissives were the ones who got things in the butt, which was why they had to learn how to do it first. Yeah, it made sense, but Nick had never had anything in his butt, never even considered putting anything in his butt.
Okay, maybe back when he was a teenager, but he’d never actually done it.
He’d outgrown the impulse—curiosity—not one he’d ever really thought would be fulfilled.
When Olivia sauntered in, Nick tried to shrivel into his chair. Oh, hell no. She caught his eye as she stepped onto the stage and smirked at him. Nope, nope, nope. He’d better not be paired with her.
The thought occurred, then he relaxed.
There was no way in hell Luke would be okay with that.
He was pretty sure.
“Who wants to be paired with me?” Mistress Julie asked, straightening and holding up a package with three butt plugs, starting with one that looked small and innocuous and ending with one Nick didn’t want anywhere near his ass.
On the other hand, having Mistress Julie was definitely preferable to Olivia being his instructor.
Unfortunately, Connor’s hand had already shot up in the air.
“Good. Over here, please.” Mistress Julie gestured to the spanking benches behind her, on the other side of the table. With the table and the Doms in the way, it was hard to see the setup, but Nick was pretty sure they were facing away from each other, so there was some mercy in that.
“Q, you’re with me,” Olivia said, curling a finger at him before smirking again at Nick. That meant he was left with Master Law, which was far preferable since he’d missed his chance with Mistress Julie.
Connor was already over his bench by the time Nick got to the other side of the table.
Not to be outdone, Nick grit his teeth, pulled down his pants, and assumed the position.
Yeah, maybe don’t think about it like that.
He could hear Mistress Julie murmuring something to Connor and Olivia talking to Q, but he couldn’t make out what they were saying.
It was drowned out when Master Law began talking to him, the Dom keeping his voice as low as the two Dommes.
“Now, the best thing you can do is relax. Take a deep breath. We’ll start with the smallest one.
It shouldn’t hurt, though you might feel a slight ache.
” Master Law’s deep voice was soothing. The sensation of something cold and hard pressing against Nick’s anus was not. “Relax, Nick. Take a deep breath.”
As the air left his lungs, the plug pushed in, and Nick clenched. The intrusion came to a halt but didn’t go away.
Relax. It doesn’t even hurt. It feels weird. That’s nothing. You want to put your whole dick in Avery’s ass. You’re a hell of a lot bigger than this tiny plug. Suck it up, buttercup.
He relaxed, and the plug pushed in deeper.
Master Law was right. It didn’t hurt exactly, but it did sting, though that dissipated quickly. It felt weird as hell, especially once the thickest part got past his entrance and the plug settled inside him.
“Okay, now I’m going to move it so you can feel what that’s like.”
The plug twisted back and forth inside him, easily thanks to the lube, but it felt weird as fuck. Worse, his dick stirred. Nick closed his eyes and tried to think about deboning a fish.
Avery
“So, you and Nick are pretty serious now, huh?” Domi asked. “Is it too soon to start talking the L-word?”
“Of course it’s not,” Rae spoke up before Avery could respond, tossing her long braids over her shoulder. “He’s getting plugged tonight for her. Even Meatloaf wouldn’t do that.”
“What?” The confusion on Iris’ face was almost comical.
“That song—I’d do anything for love, but I won’t do that—that’s what she’s talking about. Butt stuff.”
“You don’t know that for sure.” Domi shook her head, though she was grinning.
Rae looked at Avery and Iris, mouthing, ‘It totally is.’ Avery giggled.
“I’m not sure that’s love. It might be just the desire to put things in my butt,” she pointed out. “There are plenty of Doms who go through that part of training without having a girlfriend, much less being in love with them. They just want to be allowed to do the butt stuff in the club.”
“Yeah, but Nick also loves you.”
“Agreed.” Rae nodded along with Domi. Iris was nodding hers as well, even though she didn’t actually say anything out loud. Avery looked at them all with bemusement.
“Does Nick get a vote?”
“Nah, we know he does.” Domi waved her hand. “Deep down, you know he does, too.”
“I think he might, but he hasn’t said anything.” Avery rubbed her hands together, then picked up another piece of pizza. She was almost full, but she could eat one more slice. It was amazing.
“You’re in love with him, though, right?” Rae asked earnestly, leaning toward Avery as if she needed to know the answer.
“I mean…” It was scary saying it out loud, but Avery made herself tell the truth. “Yes.”
“Don’t mind her. Since she started writing romance, all she wants is happy endings for everyone.” Domi smiled when Iris snickered. “Not that kind of happy ending. Well, that as well. She writes the sexy stuff.”
“Damn right I do.” Rae grinned. “That’s the fun stuff.
Domi’s not wrong, but it’s not the romance author thing.
I just like to see my friends happy. Is that so wrong?
” she teased, but there was a little edge to her voice, and Avery couldn’t help but wonder if Rae was living vicariously through her friends.
One subject that had not come up tonight was Brian scening somewhat regularly with Morgan at Stronghold lately. Domi had invited Avery over before tonight and given her the heads up not to bring it up. She assumed Iris had been given the same warning.
“What about me?” Iris raised her hand, amusement dancing in her eyes. “When do I get a happy ending?”
“Well, first, we have to find the perfect guy for you,” Rae said enthusiastically, lighting up from within. “Like Mitch was for Domi, and Nick is for Avery.”
“To be fair, Nick wasn’t completely perfect for me. I didn’t want to date a guy I was working with.”
“Yeah, but it turned out it was perfect,” Domi said.
“Just like I didn’t want an actual relationship with Mitch, then it turned out he was perfect for me.
” She held up one finger. “Please note, I did not say he is perfect. I specifically said perfect for me. Please, for the love of God, never tell him I said he was perfect.”
Rae snickered before turning back to Iris. “Okay, so what kind of guy does Iris need?”
“Someone fun,” Iris said immediately. “With a sense of adventure.”
“Don’t forget loyal, honest, and bossy in the bedroom,” Domi said, ticking the points off on her fingers. She tilted her head to the side, studying Iris. “At least, I’m assuming those are things you want?”
“Sounds good. Q is pretty cute, but since he’s friends with Adam and Angel, I’m guessing he at least knows my brother, so I’m not sure I want to go there.
Plus… sometimes, I get the feeling he’s more switch-y than Dom-y.
It also might be that he’s new to everything.
I think I’d like someone a little more experienced since I’m picking and choosing,” Iris said, grinning.
Interesting. Avery hadn’t thought to ask Iris about the others in the class, even though she’d been taking turns as their sub. That was a good point about Q being new to the scene, but Avery also trusted Iris’ instincts. There were plenty of kinky people who could be a little switch-y.
“What about Connor?” Avery asked. The big guy was probably the quietest in the class, like a massive gentle giant, which made her even more curious.
Despite his size, she didn’t get the same aura of confidence from him she did from Nick or the other Doms. Though that also might come down to being new.
“He tries hard.” Iris shrugged when the others laughed. “He does and does a decent job, but I’m not sure his heart is really into it. Sometimes, I think he’s not actually all that kinky.”
“Well, if he’s not, this is a hell of a class to get through.” Rae shook her head at the idea of someone putting themselves through the Doms course for no reason.
