Chapter 14

Chapter Fourteen

Rae

Brian Hyde was a pain in her ass.

Literally, right now, because she couldn’t sit comfortably at all.

Okay, maybe it wasn’t a pain in her ass. It was a discomfort in her ass. A nuisance in her ass. A freaking dickhead who she couldn’t stop thinking about every three seconds because the moment she forgot there was a plug in her ass, she’d move in a way that forcibly reminded her.

Which was probably exactly what he’d intended.

The dickhead. Freaking devious Doms.

She couldn’t even complain about it to her friends because then she’d have to explain why she’d let Brian put a plug in her ass.

It would be better when they were no longer sitting down to eat. The plug was at its most uncomfortable when she was sitting. It hadn’t been nearly this distracting when she was walking.

Domi bumped her elbow against Rae’s, getting her attention.

“I’m sorry,” Domi said.

“What?” Rae blinked, her brain trying to loop back the conversation that had been going on around her that she’d barely been paying attention to. She didn’t think Domi had said anything she needed to be sorry for. “Why?”

“I feel like a bad friend.” As Domi spoke, the rest of the conversation died down, centering all the attention on her and Domi.

“We all kind of feel like bad friends,” Avery confessed on Rae’s other side, making her swivel her head back around in surprise. She looked across the table at Iris to see her nodding.

“But why?” she asked, genuinely confused. She had no idea where this was coming from.

It did not help when they all stared at her, confused by her confusion. What the hell was she missing?

“Um, we’ve been basically ignoring you the past couple days,” Domi said.

“No, you haven’t,” Rae replied automatically.

“Okay, maybe not all day or anything, but in the evening, we go off with our men, and you’ve been left to fend for yourself,” Iris said, her voice and expression full of apology.

Oh.

Oh.

Rae was finally starting to get an inkling of where this talk was going, but she wasn’t sure how to derail it or what to do about it.

“We feel bad that we keep abandoning you without making sure you’re taken care of,” Domi said, reaching out to take Rae’s hand in hers. “Bachelorette parties are supposed to be about the bridal party spending time together, not about us spending time with our partners.”

“Yeah, but this isn’t a regular bachelorette party. It’s a Jack-and-Jill party.” Rae squeezed Domi’s fingers, giving her a bright smile. “We’re supposed to spend time with the guys. It’s been great. You don’t need to worry about me. I don’t want you to worry about me.”

“It’s not that we’re worried, exactly,” Avery chimed in again. “But we want to make sure that you’re taken care of, too.”

“Yeah, no woman left behind. Or without orgasm.” Iris giggled. “Basically, we’re going to make sure you get a hookup tonight before we all peel off.”

Well, shit.

“Seriously, you all, I’m totally fine.” She felt her cheeks clench around the plug as she forced herself to keep grinning at them. “I really don’t want this week to be about me. It’s supposed to be about Domi and about everyone enjoying themselves.”

“Which is why we’re trying to make sure you enjoy yourself, too,” Domi replied. “Because we’ve all been having fun at night… and…” Her voice trailed off.

Right. Shit. They all assumed she wasn’t having ‘fun’ at night because she wasn’t telling them about any raunchy hookups or anything. Because if she had hooked up with someone, she would have told at least one of them at some point.

Except she had hooked up with someone, and she hadn’t told any of them because she didn’t want them to know who she was hooking up with. Yet.

Mother fucker.

Talk about being caught in a trap. She should have realized they’d become curious about why she wasn’t having a hot vacation fling on sex island.

She didn’t know why she hadn’t even considered the possibility.

Maybe because she’d been too preoccupied with what was going on with Brian and her room to think about the inevitable outcome of keeping her friends in the dark.

Had she really thought they’d spend all week not paying attention to what she was doing with her nights? If she’d taken a moment to think about it, she would have known that was not how it was going to happen.

But she hadn’t been thinking. Clearly.

She cleared her throat.

“Who says I’m not having fun at night?” She gave them all a little wink. The expressions around the table ranged from delighted to shocked.

“Wait, with who?”

Thankfully, she had read so many romance books, it wasn’t hard to come up with a fun and plausible scenario. Granted, it was only plausible on kink island, but it still worked.

She shrugged one shoulder.

“Don’t know. He was wearing a mask, and we didn’t exchange names.

” Which didn’t narrow things down for them at all.

There were quite a few people wearing masks of varying sorts in the Dungeon and around the resort in the evenings.

Even on an island fully devoted to the lifestyle, there were people who felt more comfortable covering their faces.

“The whole point of a vacation hookup is to be mysterious, right? I don’t want to know who he is, and I don’t really want him to know much about me, either.

Makes it easier to leave everything behind on the island in a couple days. ”

“When did this happen?” Iris demanded to know, leaning forward and bracing her elbows on the table so she could prop her chin up on her hands. “Tell us everything!”

Well, crap.

At least she didn’t have to make up too much.

She told them about her hookup in the cabana with Brian, leaving out a few key factors—like his identity and exactly where she’d run into her ‘mystery masked man.’ She didn’t know if Avery would put two and two together since she and Nick had run into Brian right after, but the more she could do to avoid that risk, the better.

“So, you don’t need to worry about me.”

“Are you going to see him again?” Avery asked, looking a little starry-eyed. “What’s he look like? I mean, even with the mask, he can’t have covered everything. Was he white? Black? Brown? Long hair, short hair?”

Rae shrugged, keeping it noncommittal. There was no way she was going to start trying to describe someone. The last thing she needed was for them to find a masked man running around the resort who actually fit the description. That would be worse than if they couldn’t find one.

“Maybe. I’m not going to tie myself down to one mystery man, though.

Maybe I’ll run into him again tonight, maybe I’ll find someone else to scene with, maybe I’ll just watch a scene.

” She looked around at her friends, loving them with all her heart for their desire to do right by her and wishing that maybe they were a little less invested in that.

“The main thing is that I do not want to take away from anyone else’s vacation.

I’m fine, I promise you. And I will find a scene or a hookup a lot easier if I’m not surrounded by three other incredibly hot women, especially if they bring all their men along with them. ”

Silence fell over the table as her friends considered her words. She thought it was a pretty good point. After a moment, Iris snickered.

“We are all pretty hot. We don’t want to be a distraction.”

“Seriously, it’s been a problem in the past when a guy would meet Domi and me at the same time.” Rae laughed. “They’d get so confused about which one of us they wanted to go after. We’d whisper, ‘stay on target’ to each other when we saw it start to happen.”

“Did they?” Avery asked.

“Rarely.” Domi laughed. “Mitch did. But I think it was different with him and the rest of those guys because they were all leading a class with us as the students. They all got hands-on time with both of us.”

“Honestly, I thought Kincaid and Domi were going to hook up for a bit,” Rae admitted. “I did not see her and Mitch coming.”

“Yeah, and I thought Rae and Brian were definitely going to end up together, but here we are.” Domi shrugged while Rae did her best to hide her wince as her ass clenched around the plug again.

Yeah, here they were.

“What else is going on? I’ve spilled what I’ve been up to.

What about you all? Anything particularly juicy?

” She winked at Domi, who laughed and obliged by telling them about a medical scene she and Mitch had done last night.

Working as a nurse in real life, Mitch was really good at playing doctor. Domi had gotten a very thorough exam.

Avery and Nick had apparently watched a demonstration on cupping. Nick was newer to kink than the other Doms—in fact, Avery was the experienced one in their relationship—but he was eager to learn. Cupping did sound interesting, though not really something Rae was necessarily interested in.

“They had some violet wand attachments here that Law hasn’t used before, so we played with those, of course,” Iris said, eyes sparkling when it was her turn.

She lowered her voice, glancing around. “That’s not the big news though.

We both got phone calls today. Mistress Julie’s secret admirer sent a present to her house, and Law is totally freaking out. ”

“Ohhh… I would be freaking out, too,” Avery said, putting her hand on her chest with wide eyes. “He knows where she lives?”

“Apparently. I called Sam to find out what’s going on because Law went into hyperactive protective mode.

Sam’s been hanging out with the Dommes sometimes lately, so I thought she might know what’s going on.

She said Julie’s nervous but not scared.

” Iris shrugged. “She hasn’t been in the club all week.

She’s taking a break since there are no classes, and apparently, it was the one-year anniversary of the first present she got.

She thinks that’s why they sent it to her home because they didn’t want to miss the anniversary. ”

They all thought about that for a moment.
