Mated to the Alien Boss

Mated to the Alien Boss

Chapter 1

Evie Westport

“Another probe?” The question comes in an elegant voice that covers for alien brutality the likes of which I am only beginning to come to understand.

I moan something incoherent. Could be yes, could be no. Neither response would matter because the question was not addressed to me. I am the subject of these erotic indignities, not an active participant.

I am already filled in the place a woman craves to be filled when she is awash with desire. I cannot imagine where another probe might go…

“Yes,” a deep alien voice intones. “Another probe. Both holes, I think.”

Oh. There.

I am shuddering in the grip of an organic binding that will let me writhe, but not let me go.

Thick sucking attachment points wrap around my waist and my shoulders.

And then, at my most sensitive zones, smaller suckers are producing a wet pulsing motion that is on the verge of driving me into madness.

“She’s very responsive.”

“She is. She is also very disobedient. So. Another probe.”

“All three, your lordship?”

“All three,” the rough voice that has written itself into my soul growls.

I chose to be here. I took this job knowing what might happen.

I thought I’d be different. I thought I’d get away with more things.

I have gotten away with nothing, and the only difference between me and other human women who have given themselves in employment to aliens is that my fate might be more shamefully intense than the rest of them put together.

To think just a few weeks ago, I was celebrating what I thought would be a turning point in my career. I had no idea how right I was, and I had no concept of what it would cost me.

* * *

Earlier…

“I got the assignment,” I say casually as I walk back into the shared office of the Alpha Core division of the Centauri project.

I’m trying not to gloat, I really am, but when you’ve been fighting with a co-worker for three years and seem to always get passed over, finally getting what you deserve feels good.

A girl deserves to celebrate every now and then.

That’s why I’m letting myself enjoy this light smirk. It feels like pure luxury.

Rustle looks up from his laptop. He has that pissy look he gets when something hasn’t gone his way. “Fuck off, no, you didn’t,” he says.

“Assignment, and a transfer, and a generous renumeration package,” I say. I’m trying not to grin. I fail. Rustle is getting more pissed by the moment, but he’d be even more insufferable if it had been him who won the promo. I would be getting every juicy detail of the meeting, and more besides.

“They said I’m the best fit for the position because of my experience and superior field capability, not to mention my command of Antusian and Daktari linguistic components.”

“You got the job because you have a pussy,” he grunts.

“That’s not very professional, Rustle.”

“Report me to HR,” he says.

Rustle and I went through the academy together, then got recruited together. He got the first field position and came back acting like he was the first person ever to make alien contact. He’s not. Humanity has been in contact with seven officially recognized alien species for over a hundred years.

Earth is a human preserve. Aliens aren’t officially allowed there. Except for the ones that live in the ocean, but they’re not an official species.

It’s gotten complicated. For the most part, aliens want humans to stay where they are.

They don’t like the notion of us getting out en masse.

We’ve been banned, in large part, from space travel.

A few of us can go on specially selected missions, but the large bulk of the human population is under heavily enforced go-home-stay-home measures.

That’s what makes this job offer so incredibly exciting. The opportunities to work with alien species on alien planets are extremely limited, and highly sought after.

I just got one of them handed to me on a silver fucking platter.

And it’s not low-level grunt work, either.

It’s a position with status. I’m going to be helping train machines for the Daktari, working in their advanced research division.

They couldn’t tell me too much about it, because of the secrecy of the project, but what I did learn has filled me with anticipation and glee.

“I’m going to be the investigative human attaché to a Daktari warlord, Arkon Thornhall.”

His pupils dilate with jealousy, and his face turns nasty and I know he has worked out something vile to say to me that he is going to pretend is professional courtesy.

“You’re going to be sold into the human slave trade,” he says. “I give it less than a day before you’re being railed by a dozen aliens we don’t have classifications for.”

“Don’t threaten me with a good time,” I say, refusing to be obviously freaked out by his predictions. He has no idea I am a virgin, because I’ve never brought it up with my enemy.

“You’d better be careful,” he says. “Even if you don’t end up sold into the trade.”

“Why?”

“Because you’re going to work for a Daktari boss, and that species of alien has a reputation for being ruthless about discipline.”

“And?”

“And you’re the biggest brat I know.”

I throw a stapler at him, just to prove I am not a brat. It goes sailing across the desks, catches the edge of a partition, and goes spinning into a monitor, which promptly cracks and dies.

He looks at me with an expression that holds so many things.

“They are going to straighten you out on that fiery planet,” he says. “You are absolutely fucked, Westport.”

At that moment, our supervisor walks into the room, just in time to hear Rustle tell me I am fucked, but just a little too late to see the stapler get thrown. Perfect timing.

“Is it professional to tell a younger colleague that she’s fucked, Westley?” I ask the question with as much innocence as I can muster.

“Rustle, please,” Edmund Westley says. “Try to have a little decorum. This is a big win for our office. We’re one of the smallest investigative outposts. It’s not often one of our number has a chance to represent us on the interstellar stage.”

I give Rustle the finger behind Edmund’s back.

“Thank you, Mr. Westley,” I say. “I’m very excited to represent the Alpha Core.”

“Good,” he says. “I need to give you an additional briefing. Come to my office, please.”

I turn to follow Westley to his office, but not before giving Rustle a very rude gesture behind Westley’s back.

He’s stupid enough to give it back while he’s still in our boss’s peripheral vision.

I hear Westley sigh, and I know Rustle is going to get called in for a disciplinary adjustment. So much for being a brat.

Once safely in Westley’s office, I pay full attention.

“You’ve done well to be assigned to this job,” he says. “I know you’ve been putting yourself forward for positions since you came here and I’m glad we finally have one that fits your very unique set of talents.”

“Thank you, sir,” I say.

“One more thing to add to your mission,” he says. “Over and above what Lord Thornhall will require of you, we also have some tasks for you.”

“Who is we?” I ask the question cautiously.

“The human race, but in particular, the Alpha Core,” he says.

“You are going to be going deep into alien territory, and they will not be able to keep the evidence of their tech from you. Bring anything back you can. Photos are good. Actual tech is better; even a small sliver of a chip could change our place in the universe forever.”

My boss is asking me to spy on the aliens I’ll be working for. I hesitate only for a fraction of a second before nodding. Of course I’m going to do what I can to help advance human endeavors and positioning.

“I understand,” I say.

“And don’t let them catch you,” he adds. “They’re going to know what you’re doing, and they’re going to try to stop you from doing it. There’s a reason we chose you for the assignment.”

“Because I’m good at my job? No?” I add the no as he starts to shake his head.

He turns a tablet toward me and hits play.

I see security camera footage of myself. I cover my mouth with both hands because I instantly know what’s about to be shown.

“Okay, now, those samples were going to expire,” I say as I watch myself rifling through the refrigerators for some little vials of whatnot that usually cost hundreds of dollars, but we can get for free if we just sort of take them whenever we want.

Then I watch myself keep going. I’d forgotten. I’d broken my kitchen terminal interface and figured I could just grab one from work.

“And uh, I think that terminal was going to be replaced and…”

“You have a penchant for thieving,” he says.

“It’s been documented for longer than you know, and a cost benefit analysis was done several months ago and we determined it was worth keeping you on for the work in spite of an average yearly expenditure of several thousand dollars to keep you in your habit of swiping whatever isn’t nailed down. ”

I am blushing so hard. How embarrassing to have been caught like this. If Rustle knew about this, I’d never hear the end of it.

“I’m, uh, sorry,” I say. My mouth is dry. I am sure something terrible is about to happen, even though Westley is telling me that it’s fine.

“You’re going to go among alien civilizations, and you’re going to bring back what you can,” he says. “The transport ship will be arriving in one week’s time. I suggest you take that time to familiarize yourself with the material you’ll be working with. You’ll need to be convincing in the role.”

It is at that point I realize I haven’t actually confirmed what the role is or involves at all. They told me I had the post and I couldn’t wait to run down and rub Rustle’s face in it.

“You are going to witness a breakthrough in the divide between physical matter and the function of the mind,” he says. “I don’t know how much of that you’re going to be able to understand, but if you can bring some of that back…”

“I’ll do my best,” I promise.

“Good,” he says. “Just keep in mind that there may be cameras in places you don’t expect, and don’t assume that just because you aren’t confronted immediately, you haven’t been caught.”

He flickers a wink at me to soften the blow about me being a habitually somewhat incompetent thief. I take it with a rueful smile and that’s the last normal work day I ever have.
