Chapter 6
Silas
Raven Hollow Wolf Pack Territory
I stopped for food at a local place and arrived in our spot before my guys.
I spread out the blanket I kept in the truck for emergency romps and picnics.
Thought after thought hammered through my head.
I was tied to Uriel now. Only we were supposed to call him Raziel.
Creon was trying to change how he looked at him and that made sense.
One day we’d come face to face with him again, one way or another.
Calling him by his past life name might be a low blow.
I’d seen him a few times in passing and he never looked all that impressive.
Sure, that was partially because fifty percent of alphas still gave me the creeps.
Not Kodiak or Micah, but most of them. Xander got a pass too because he was straight.
Zoey was his true-mate and they had two girlfriends now too.
We hung out with them whenever they were in town because not many people understood how intimate and intricate poly relationships were.
Sometimes it was nice to be around folks who didn’t demand explanations about our private lives.
Plus, why look at any other alpha when I had Kodiak?
He was all the alpha I needed. Would that change the first time I caught a whiff of Raziel?
Would I love him as I loved Kodiak and Creon?
Sitting under the trees with the sunlight dappling down through the canopy, I couldn’t imagine I would, but even if I didn’t, I’d fake it as intensely as Creon wanted me to.
I’d fake it until I felt something for the dragon because if he added good things to Creon’s life, I’d love him for real eventually.
I couldn’t imagine losing Kodiak before I ever got the chance to really know him and in such a violent way.
Kodiak’s green truck rolled to a stop and Creon flung himself out before the engine died. He leapt as only an elf could, landing next to me. His scent wrapped around me and my wolf howled. “MINE!” the word played over and over through my thoughts as our mouths met for a long, slow kiss.
Kodiak killed the engine and climbed out of the truck.
He circled to the front and leaned back against the hood, watching us kiss.
I knew that thrill of comperBWsion that came from watching one of us being intimate with the other.
It was like watching the two people I loved most in the world, outside my children, love each other just as much as I loved them.
I pulled Creon down onto the blanket and waved a finger to beckon our big bear to join us. Kodiak’s deep, throaty growl echoed through the forest. A few birds fled not wanting to be gobbled up. Lucky for them, the only ones he wanted to gobble up out here in the woods were me and Creon.
For a dizzying moment, I was kissing both of them at the same time.
Our tongues out and dancing between our mouths as Kodiak’s fingers fumbled over the clasps on Creon’s elven style robes.
He always struggled with the delicate, little clasps.
Pushing his hands away, I undid them while he kissed Creon.
Kodiak was right. Our mate had way too much clothing on. Too much was anything.
“We should all live naked forever!” my wolf howled into my thoughts. I shook off the thought. My guys were my forever, but things might change soon. How would our lives look ten years from now?
I watched as Kodiak kissed up and down Creon’s throat, marking his territory. Kodiak’s nostrils flared like they always did when his bear was serious about something. I pushed up Kodiak’s shirt and grazed my nails up and down his back until goosebumps rose on his skin.
Babies crossed Creon’s mind and for a second, I thought he was trying to ask who had the baby, but then it hit me. This was an exchange of more permanent claiming vows. One of us was very likely to get pregnant.
“Uh…” Kodiak lifted his head enough to speak. “Not this time. Not when I’m shooting blanks.”
He had a vasectomy not long after our last one was born. Creon and I both laughed. Even after all this time he seemed to have forgotten that Creon and I had the ability to conceive together. Under normal circumstances it might take us a few tries because we weren’t alphas but we’d done it before.
“Oh,” Kodiak said, laughing at his own shortsightedness. “I.. I thought about it earlier on the way here and had the vasectomy on my mind.”
“Are you against another baby?” Creon asked.
I bit my lip because it was a loaded question.
Kodiak had gotten his vasectomy to slow down the rate our family expanded.
With shifters they never lasted forever.
Our genetics and magic constantly repaired things until eventually things were back in order like a factory reset.
I had heard a rumor that harpies just grow new ones and repair the old vas deferens too. How many of them could they have?
Creon laughed and Kodiak looked at me over his shoulder. He was smiling but in the way that he always did when my train of thought after thought lost him somewhere.
“Are we going to mate with a harpy too?” he teased.
“I think four might be our limit,” Creon laughed. “If not, we’ll need a bigger bed. Maybe the harpy could sleep in a hammock over the bed?”
I tried to imagine Kodiak cuddled up to Raziel but couldn’t picture it. Kodiak was cuddly with us and the kids. He had been cuddly with Finn’s cubs when they were younger too. Outside of that he wasn’t the cuddliest guy. Creon picked up my thought and grinned.
“Why are you two shipping me with another alpha?” Kodiak arched a brow.
“Why shouldn’t we daydream about two big, burly alphas cuddling after kissing and humping all over each other?” I asked, arching a brow. Yeah, we were all flying a little high on the magic that had awoken in us since Creon planted his seeds in our shoulders.
Creon took advantage of all the distractions and stripped Kodiak naked.
I undressed while he straddled Kodiak’s hips.
Both of them were hard and the scent of Creon’s slickness covered the clearing.
That was the real reason Kodiak was having trouble thinking straight.
Creon smelled delicious but Kodiak’s bear had never been able to resist either of us in heat.
This wasn’t heat but it was close enough.
I reached down and wrapped my hands around their dicks, pushing them together so that I stroked them at the same time.
Creon leaned his head back reveling in the warmth of our bodies and Kodiak let out a growl that made me want to squeeze.
So I did. I pulsed my fingers against their skin as I stroked up and down.
“If Kodiak doesn’t want more babies, maybe you should do him,” Creon said.
It wouldn’t be the first time. I didn’t know how other couples or polycules worked but I figured anyone together long enough would try sex just about every way imaginable.
Creon liked to watch me top Kodiak. It wasn’t something that came up often but from time to time over the years.
There was something soul soothing about the act.
At least for me. I never spoke the words aloud because everyone had the right to say no but there was something about a versatile alpha that made me feel safer.
Like he knew he liked it sometimes and he didn’t have some giant ego shoved up his ass like a broomstick to get in the way.
Not that Kodiak would’ve described himself as vers, but then again it’s not something that we had to label because the three of us just did what we were all in the mood for.
Life was simpler without the labels. Besides, we outnumbered him and already put him through his paces.
If he was the only one to ever top anyone, he’d hibernate for months at a time trying to keep up with us.
The idea of sliding into my mate while my other mate rode his dick made a drop of precum form on the throbbing head of my dick.
So I checked in with Kodiak over our mating link to see where he was with the idea.
He reached out for me and pulled me down for a long hard kiss before flipping Creon over so that he was on top of him.
“Lube’s in the glovebox if you didn’t bring any with the picnic,” he said and kissed Creon’s neck as the other man laughed.
Five minutes later, I’d lost track of everything except the pleasure that poured onto me from every angle.
Sure, eventually we’d have to contort ourselves into new positions because Creon and I needed to be close enough to bite but we had time.
We’d really be together forever now. No matter what life threw at us.
I lost myself to moving inside Kodiak’s tight body as he moved inside Creon.
Our cries of pleasure filled the clearing, chasing birds from trees and causing the rest of nature to fall silent except for the cicada sounding every now and then.
When they came out there was no shutting those fuckers up.
Pleasure danced over my skin and shimmied into my core as Creon bit into Kodiak’s claiming gland.
I thought back to the farm where Kodiak and I were first together before we knew Creon would be ours too.
Everything was so uncertain and I was only alive because of my friends.
I was determined to take out Brone but we hadn’t yet.
Kodiak and Creon came into my life exactly when I needed them the most. I hoped we’d all do the same for Raziel.
Maybe I should’ve been angry about being tied to him, but we’d been tied together since the second he let us be Creon’s second chance mates.
Besides, there was little I could deny Creon.
Still, I’d wear his scales as a hat if Raziel hurt anyone else.
Our mating link was already shifting and expanding when Kodiak bit into Creon.
I thrust faster, seeking out a way to satisfy some deep, needy longing inside me.
I clutched Kodiak’s hips, reveling in the warm feel of his flesh under mine.
Creon cried out and the sound vibrated through me.
I knew that cry – that calling – he was so close to cumming that everything inside him ached.
Kodiak thrust into him harder, faster, giving him more and more.
Every time he drew back from Creon’s body, he sank deeper onto my dick, as if he meant to make us both cum with the same fluid motion.
My nails dug into his hips and he growled as his pleasure pulsed over our mating link.
Life had turned out so fuckin good. I’d gone from hunting for food that my father claimed didn’t belong to me and trading for blankets to leading my people – but it wasn’t the power that made it good.
It was moments like these and the family that sprung forth from them.
It was knowing that whatever uncertainty came that I would never have to face it alone again.
Everything inside me drew up tight and, unable to hold my wolf back, I bit Kodiak’s shoulder.
He growled, his body tightening around my dick as pleasure drew up everything inside him.
Creon clung to him, panting, and smiling at me over his shoulder.
We had him right where we wanted him. Kodiak was all ours.
For now. Forever. They were both mine and I belonged to them too.
I thrust deep into my mate once, twice, three more times and I couldn’t hold back anymore.
I threw my head back letting my wolf howl out his deep, throaty pleasure to the skies.
Any little animals who hadn’t scurried off made a quick exit, fearing they’d be my post-coital snack.
None of us fell still until there wasn’t a drop of pleasure left in any of us.
Sure, we’d go for another round soon, but for now, just being in a tangle of limbs with my guys was the best place in all the universe.
“I think the food’s still warm,” Kodiak said, glancing over at the bags of food from the takeout place.
That was our bear. He moved to set up the food and Creon reached out for me.
We shared a long, slow kiss as our sweaty bodies pressed together.
He fingered the claiming gland on my shoulder before his mouth drifted that way.
His lips were warm and soft against the taut skin.
He licked it and sucked at it until his long elven canine broke through and flooded his mouth with the clear, magical fluid exchanged at all claiming vow ceremonies.
He lapped it up, taking in memories he had already shared in.
Maybe those were the best memories. Maybe he was seeing my favorite memories of the three of us.
When I bit him, for half a second I feared I’d see Uriel die.
Only Creon hadn’t witnessed that. Instead, I saw our family through his eyes.
We were home and hearth for him. We were the place he always longed to be.
I hoped that knowing he had us forever quelled the longing.
He was home now and though some things might change – him belonging with us never would.
We ate together, lounging around naked on the blanket.
“Told you no one would get pregnant,” Kodiak winked at me.
“Maybe I got you pregnant,” I said, because sometimes even when romance in under way you still have to be a smart ass. We all laughed and Kodiak leaned over to give me a kiss. Yeah, for all the bullshit we went through, our lives didn’t turn out half bad.
