Chapter 30
Survii
The best blowjob ever would, unfortunately, have to wait.
Before Survii was even finished in the med scanner, Atem was comming him through the ship channels to meet him in the comm room. They were going to contact the humans and they needed their First Voice.
He should earn a kriking trophy for turning down the promise of his mate’s mouth on his cock in favor of work. A trophy, a parade, a damn holiday!
He put his arm around her shoulders as he walked them from med bay towards the communications room. She grinned at him, poking his stomach.
“Don’t you think you should put on a shirt?”
“And deny you the chance to ogle my nude body? I’d never be so selfish,” he said gallantly, earning another laugh from her.
Mostly, he just didn’t want the delay. The cock licking could still happen if they finished this little annoyance quick enough.
Besides, nudity was the norm in parts of the universe, partial nudity high fashion in others. He’d never been ashamed to display his body before. He certainly wasn’t going to start now. Let the pitiful human males see a real masculine form and weep for their inadequacies!
But mostly it was just to enjoy the way Alanna couldn’t keep her eyes off him as he led her down the hall. That was the real trophy here.
The others – save Holly – had gathered in the communications room already when the two of them arrived. After they asked if he was okay, and in turn assuring them that Holly wasn’t hurt, just resting from her scare, they focused on the task at hand.
“Not you, vi Vitralai,” Survii said, kissing her nose when she made to climb up onto the platform after him – both of them ignored Atem’s reflexive growl.
She frowned. “But you need me to translate.”
“I’ll be doing it,” Romival said. “My English has gotten better. Stand back with the others.”
She continued to look confused, but she didn’t fight as she stayed at the bottom of the steps, leaving Survii to climb up alone.
Tuvo had changed into his military uniform and cut his hair back in the time they had been in the med bay.
It had been growing a bit longer than military standard and the sharp lines made him look fiercer.
The other three remained as they had been before, standing to either side of Survii as he took pride of place in the middle.
He gestured towards Navine in the darkness. The connection was made in seconds. It was the secretary general on the line. President Townsend, oddly, right beside him.
“You’re all right!” President Townsend said immediately, though his eyes moved quickly across the screen. Romival translated in a grim tone completely at odds with the way the president had actually spoken. “Where is Alanna? Is she hurt?”
“The females are fine,” Survii said firmly. “No thanks to your inadequate security.”
The president let out a quick breath of relief before gathering himself, setting his shoulders. “Earth would like to formally and officially apologize for this nasty business. The failure in security measures was-”
“Save your words, president,” Survii cut him off with a growl, crossing his arms. “My people are called the domini. We named ourselves after the domin, the den protectors of our couplings. Because there is nothing more important than the safety of our adassi. Our mates. And our mates were put in danger by your people.”
“And no one is more ashamed than me. That is my security team. My niece was nearly shot. Three people are dead, five are in critical condition, and seventeen more are injured. All of them humans. All of them our people. We didn’t want this anymore than you.”
“And yet, it happened on your watch.” His eyes narrowed on him. “Give me one reason, president, why I should not have our ship turn around and bear our mates to safety.”
“There’s no need for rash decisions. This was a radical group. A single terrorist cell. They-”
“You lie to me now,” Survii cut him off again with a slash of his hand, claws out as anger bit at his belly.
“My mate was shot at. I was hit. Dear friends of mine were targeted. Poor Holly has been traumatized by the violence. I have seen the protests of your angered people. Humans that hate our presence. Who wish us gone. Why should I not indulge them that request?”
“You would only be giving them what they want.”
“It would be no less than they deserve,” Survii growled. “The only reason I comm you now, president, is because our females are far more forgiving than we are. If we had our way, we would abandon your planet to the fate you ask for yourself and never again lend you aid or offers of trade.”
“And you would be justified,” President Townsend said, bowing his head, hand over his heart. “This was our failure. We take full responsibility and will do everything in our power to ensure this doesn’t happen again.”
Survii growled, glaring at him. He hadn’t directed any of this ire at his female, saving all of it for this moment with the human leaders.
Or rather, the human leader they wanted him to speak with since he had a connection to him.
Another manipulation as President Townsend wasn’t involved with their negotiations but was well liked by the delegation.
The other domini males, he knew, agreed with Survii.
Tuvo, growling behind him, would probably only be too happy to turn and leave Earth behind.
But they knew that first contact could be perilous. All things told, this was going better than other meetings in the past. It was just the fact that their females, their pregnant females, had come under fire that made them so angry.
“What do you all think?” Survii asked the other council members in Domtri, staring at the president as he looked between them, unable to understand.
Tuvo wasted no time in voicing his displeasure. “If the humans are so dishonorable as to attack carrying females, do they even deserve to be a protectorate?”
“It was disgusting, true,” Havali agreed with a frown. “But you are being short sighted. If we leave now, we would be condemning the other human females to remain alone on this planet with their violent and dishonorable males.”
“True.” Romival sneered. “Did you know they beat their females? The crime statistics for rape and partner violence and family violence is deplorable.”
“It’s worse than you think,” Atem added. “Most such crimes aren’t even reported because the females feel too scared to do it. Or feel that it would be pointless. There is no protection for these females.”
“Guys,” Alanna called to them, slowly walking up onto the platform. “It’s not that bad. Really. There are bad ones, yes. But they’re not all bad.”
“The ones that do nothing to defend you are just as bad, if not worse, as the ones who hurt you,” Survii said, merciless and unforgiving. “All the more reason for us to be here. All the more reason for us not to leave.”
He looked to the other males and got grunts of confirmation for the decision. Turning, he deliberately stood between Alanna and her uncle. And the planet that would dare to allow his female to nearly be the victim of such a violent attack.
“We will return,” he said, growling. “The world tour is over. We will focus only on negotiations. And President Townsend?”
The human male, who looked so relieved at his statement immediately appeared wary again. “Yes? What is it?”
“The only reason those males are alive is because your females have warned us not to kill anyone while on your planet. That it would reflect badly on us. Let this be your only warning. If we are attacked again, any human who poses a threat to our mates, our pups, will die at the end of our claws and their blood shall pool at our mates’ feet as an offering of our fealty and devotion. ”
