Chapter Nine #2
“The little fluffy ones that are badly behaved, but they’re so cute that you can’t be angry at them.”
It sounded like she was describing Dale; cute, harmless, and could be paraded about on a lead.
“Noted. No big, manly dogs.” My lips twitched at her pout.
“You’ll have to express your masculinity in other ways,” she countered.
“I’ll get myself a bigger gun.”
Her eyes widened, and her gaze snapped to where my gun still sat on the counter.
“Does there have to be guns in the house?”
“I don’t have any security here, so yes, I need to bring my own protection.” I didn’t mention the other weapons hidden around the house, or the arsenal in the hidden compartment in the hallway.
She stared at me for several moments, narrowing her eyes at me when I didn’t cower under the weight of her glare. I raised my eyebrows slightly at her attitude rising.
“This is my private space. If I want to walk around my garden naked, then no one will witness me.”
“Where are you going to hide your gun?” Olivia asked. “Up your ass?”
I winked at her. “You’ll find out soon enough.”
That flush appeared on her cheeks again, and she glanced away, hiding behind her mug.
“Why did you bring me here instead of letting me go home?” Olivia asked, staring out into the darkness of the garden.
I moved to the control panel at the side of the kitchen, flicking the switch for the outside lights.
Fairy lights illuminated the garden, creating pathways and trails.
I had fitted them myself, and had designed the landscaping of the garden that they accentuated.
It had been based on a conversation we had several years ago when we stood on a patio overlooking a stunning garden with the noise of wildlife as a soundtrack.
Her gasp echoed through the kitchen, and she opened the door to step outside. “It’s beautiful,” Olivia said, moving onto the patio.
There wasn’t a conversation we’d had that I forgot, our discussions about the future shaping many of my decisions.
“It reminds me of that garden at the Christmas ball,” Olivia said, spinning around to face me, leaving me breathless.
I didn’t reply, but knew exactly what she was talking about. We had danced together on the patio that night when her favourite Christmas song came on in the main ballroom. To cover my embarrassment, I pretended to sip the tea I didn’t want since I was a coffee drinker.
She handed me her mug as she walked further along the patio toward the pathway.
I set the mugs on the table and stood with my ass against the wall, watching her.
Olivia wandered along the path, stopping and standing on her tiptoes to see further into the garden.
She was a complex creature with conflicting dualities in her, one moment acting like a timid virgin, and the next a sassy diva.
I couldn’t decide which of those aspects of her I preferred since both intrigued and excited me.
“I brought you here to keep you safe,” I said, answering her question from earlier. “Roberto would find a way to punish you, and not all life changing injuries leave scars.”
Olivia turned to face me.
“Your brother is an extremely sick individual with a reputation which precedes him. Men like that get their own way or destroy those who defy them.”
“He pushed Dale off that roof in front of me,” Olivia said, her voice nothing more than a whisper.
“I guessed as much,” I replied. “Roberto arranged all your sisters marriages, and gained huge amounts of money for each one.”
Olivia’s expression said she hadn’t been aware of that information.
“In our world, power is currency, and selling you into a family he needs access to is hugely beneficial to him.” I shrugged. “He knows I’m a brick wall in business, only dealing with people I trust.”
“I’m sorry I dragged you into this,” she repeated her statement from earlier.
“Dad would have lost patience and arranged a marriage for me eventually, at least this way it was my choice.”
“No really, you came to my rescue, just as you did five years ago,” Olivia muttered. “You’d think I would be able to defend myself by now.” She frowned, anger flashing across her face.
I stepped forward, my fingers under her chin lifting her head until she met my gaze. “That’s my job now.” I leaned forward and pressed a soft kiss to her lips.
Olivia’s gasp echoed into my mouth, infecting me with a desire to consume her.
I had intended to take things slowly so I didn’t scare her, but the creature that woke inside me had no such intentions.
I grasped her face in my hands, this kiss deeper, more intense as my emotions clawed their way to the surface.
Olivia froze for several moments before her hands landed on my stomach.
There was something about Olivia that called me to my doom, a mixture of innocence and a seductress that made me want to throw my careful control away.
Her nails scratched across my skin, sending a shiver down my spine.
In response, I tipped her head further back to intensify our kiss, my tongue delving into her mouth.
The timid mouse transformed into a kitten with teeth and claws, her body pressed into mine. I couldn’t remember the last time I had kissed someone, never mind lose myself in the moment.
Olivia moaned, and that noise travelled down my body to my groin. I pressed her against a tree, slowly grinding my pelvis against her. Olivia’s fingers trailed around to my back to grip me tighter, her legs widening to allow me closer.
“Shit.” I pulled back before I fucked her against this tree, leaving splinters in her ass. “I shouldn’t have done that.”
Her cheeks were flushed, her lips swollen, and her eyes wide and filled with passion. She had never looked more beautiful.
Olivia sucked in a breath, her chest expanding. She leaned back against the tree, her head falling down for a moment, before it snapped up to stare at me.
“Um, your—” She gestured to my dick, who was currently mounting a rebellion against me since I was trying to fight him for control.
“Yeah, if I didn’t stop, I would be balls deep inside you right now, and planning on my first deposit towards our family. I don’t carry condoms for a midnight stroll.”
Olivia stared back down at my dick, and I swear the asshole was enjoying the attention because he got harder as if trying to wave at her. There was a mixture of shock and fascination pulsing through me when Olivia reached out and stroked my dick.
“He’s hard.”
You better fucking believe it, and ready to blow his load.
She stroked over me again, and I bit the inside of my mouth to stop myself from moaning. I caught her wrist when she attempted to explore my dick further.
“I only have so much self-control, Olivia. Unless you want me to rip those red lace panties off, and consummate our union here in the garden, I would stop playing with my dick.” Her green eyes peered up at me as if I was speaking a language she didn’t understand. “I’m only a man, Olivia.”
“Maybe this is a bad idea,” she whispered. “I should have just let Roberto control my destiny.”
“Or maybe this is the best idea ever,” I replied, my hand curving around her hip. “Your mine now, and I have no problem protecting what is mine. As much as I want to continue this tonight, I want to watch my wife fall apart when we explore each other for the first time.”
Her hand trembled as she pushed her hair back. “I wanted a simple life.”
I grabbed her ass with both my hands to drag her against me. “Don’t worry, baby. I’ll make sure you get everything you want.” I pressed a hard kiss to her lips, and felt her immediate response.
I had never wanted a wife, but was beginning to see the benefits that matrimony would bring to my life.
