Maybe I’m the Problem
Chapter 1
Chapter One
SUMMER
“’Cause we’re way too in love just to end and let go. Cause we’re way too involved just to cut and not call. Way too in deep.”
Summer Walker’s song blared through the speakers as Law was holding my thighs, attacking my pussy with some of the slowest, sweetest strokes that lovemaking could involve.
You know that type of lovemaking where your legs are in the crooks of his arms, and he’s kissing and sucking all over your neck while the tip of his dick is touching the deepest parts of your pussy.
That was what we were in the middle of. I was working on my fourth orgasm as he stared me in my eyes and told me he loved me.
My mind was telling me to curse this nigga out for all his lies, but baby, the way this dick was making me arch my back while I was spilling my juices all over the bed, was telling me to just enjoy the moment.
“Summer, I love you, girl,” he whispered in my ear. “Nobody else can have you.”
I was too mesmerized by the dick to even respond.
Why though? Law belonged to me, and everyone in Savannah knew that.
Had I been a fool for him? Damn right I have.
Name a bitch that ain’t pulled up about their nigga.
Women, let’s be real with ourselves. When we invest a lot of our time with a nigga, we can’t let him go that easily.
Especially, when the sex is this good, or maybe I was the problem.
Law covered my mouth with his as he moaned from the taste of my lips. He made me melt as he grunted, releasing into the condom. He hated using them, but I had to protect myself from having kids. I was at the brink of opening up my business and going on tour. A baby was going to slow me down.
“I wish you stop making me use these damn condoms.” He snatched it off and went in the bathroom to flush it.
“We don’t need any fucking kids right now. You’re hardly here, and I’m about to be on the road too.”
“All you keep giving me is excuses.”
This was the same conversation we had after every session.
It was starting to get old, but it came with having good pussy too.
If y’all knew how many times I tried to break up with Law because of some dumb shit, I would be here all damn day talking.
He couldn’t leave me, and I couldn’t leave him either.
We met when I had just turned twenty-one, and I took my fast ass to the club with one of my bitch ass friends and got drunk.
That was my first time drinking, so I was having the time of my life until I passed out and had to be toted to the car.
As soon as the cool air hit me, I threw up all over this nigga.
It was Law. He tried to pull the whole let me take you on a date shit to make me pay him back for fucking up his shoes. He just wasn’t my type.
Law was tall and sexy. Mama always told me them red niggas were hell, so I stayed away from them.
He was bright, with good hair, gorgeous eyes, and a mole right under his eye to add to his distinctiveness.
If I were just any type of bitch, I would have fallen for him right then, but it didn’t come that easy.
Law was the damn guy everybody wanted, and I had just had a bad break-up with my last nigga for the same reason.
All the fighting and fussing was causing me to lose hair, so he finally told me he didn’t want me anymore.
Law put me in the mind of my ex, so I curved his ass for a whole year before I folded.
He later caught me with a flat tire on 95, trying to get to work.
After helping me, he felt like I really owed him.
I folded and went out with him, and it was the best time of my life.
When a nigga turns off his phones to give you his undivided attention, it’s huge in this generation.
No distractions from anyone. Four years later, and now we’re fussing about having a baby.
“Summer, bring me some damn tissue!” He yelled from the bathroom. “You always do this shit. Nigga can’t shit in peace without you leaving an empty tissue roll.”
“Law, why the hell are you so grumpy. I just gave you some of the best sex, and you complaining about some tissue.” I threw it at him.
“Today was my last day wearing a goddamn condom with my woman.”
I glanced at my wedding finger and back at him. “I need to be married first. If you think you’re going to get me stuck like the rest of these hoes, you got me fucked up.”
“You want to marry a nigga like me? Now that’s some shit y’all need to work on. Y’all rush us to marry y’all and get mad when we fuck up. “I’ght, I’ll bring your ass a ring home tonight.”
“Nah, don’t bring me shit with an attitude. You can keep that shit. Don’t rush me into having no damn babies. Let’s just enjoy life, damn.”
I went and climbed back in the bed and grabbed my phone to take a few videos for IG with Law chain on.
The beef with the bitches was real for me, but I was respected because of Law.
Nobody got out of pocket when it came to our relationship.
I owned a business as well, so I had to be careful how I acted in public.
To me, it didn’t matter, but to Law it did.
He loved my ghetto ass but when it came down to getting’ money, he told me to turn that shit off.
Since being with him, I was able to successfully buy a building and turn it into my very own all-in-one shop.
Nails, hair, lashes, and brows. There was no need for you to go anywhere else to get anything done.
The space was so big that it took me a little over a year to get it all renovated and complete.
In Savannah, hair was a big competition, so I started my own trend and did nails, brows, and lashes.
My clientele was getting too large to still be doing them out of my mama’s house, so Law bought the building, and I started making plans.
While Law showered, I got up to get his clothes out for him.
Occasionally, I would spend the night over here with him, but until he married me, he wasn’t getting the full me.
I had my own apartment and as much I would much rather lay up in this big ass house, I had a little bit of sense when it came to my man.
Pulling a pair of jeans from his closet and a shirt, a small box caught my attention.
I was so happy that it didn’t take me no time to pull that box from the bottom of the closet and open it.
Thinking it was a ring, I was shocked to see a pair of earrings.
With an attitude, I closed the damn box back and put it back.
“Fuck wrong with you?” Law asked, drying off and grabbing his clothes.
“Nothing.”
“Do you plan on making any money today, or you laying up all day?”
“I’m about to leave. Why? You don’t want me in your house?”
“Summer, don’t start no shit. I’m dead ass serious right now. If I’m making it, you need to be doing the same.”
“I got a brow class this evening so I’m about to head to my apartment and get everything together. You ain’t got to act like I ain’t doing shit.”
“Give me a kiss. I gotta go.” He grabbed my jaw and stuck his tongue down my throat. “Brush your damn teeth too. Damn.”
Law was a street nigga, but he handled business a little different.
He went clean after his last stint in jail and opened up a family restaurant that his mama ran.
He also had a mobile carwash and a twenty-four-hour gym where he taught boxing classes.
It was his way of keeping the police off his ass.
His drive is what turned me on the most.
I hit the alarm on my car as I made my way up to my apartment door almost an hour later.
My roommate already sent the warning text that she had company, so that let me know not to bust in her damn room.
I needed to take a shower and head to my mama’s house anyway.
She let me use her basement as my shop until mine was up and running.
As I put my phone on the charger and started stripping out of my clothes, my door popped open.
My eyes squinted as soon as I noticed who the fuck it was.
“Trey! What the fuck you doing here?”
“I thought this was the bathroom. My bad.” He rushed out.
“I know damn well my roommate ain’t fucking my old nigga.” I walked to the door, but decided not to address the issue because he was a fuck nigga. All he did was fuck bitches and beg for me to take him back. She could have that headache.
The last I heard was Trey was living his best life in South Carolina with his new bitch.
Why the fuck was he in my shit like he lived here?
Jill had her fucking hands full with him, and if she wasn’t careful, she’ll be somewhere crying like a newborn baby with a shitty diaper by the time Trey got done with her.
