Chapter 3
Chapter Three
SUMMER
I don’t know how many times I had called Law, but he wasn’t answering, and I was worried.
Of course, my roommate told me that his house had burned down.
His mama wasn’t answering either, so I was putting clothes on so I could do a pop-up on his ass.
Law knew I didn’t play that not answering the phone shit.
It wasn’t late but, it was now dark outside, and I hated driving in the city when it was dark.
The only house I could think of was his two-story crib in Pooler until Jill’s weird ass showed me a picture of the house, and it looked nothing like his house.
Law got mad when I showed out, but this was the reason I stayed on his ass.
He had another house that I had no idea about. Yeah, I was snapping on sight.
“Where are you going?” My roommate Jill asked. I was about to respond until I noticed Trey sitting his dumb ass in between her legs. “You heard me?”
“I’m about to go check on Law.”
“Oh, he still ain’t answered your calls,” she said in a snarky way.
Rolling my eyes at both of them, I walked out, making sure to slam the door.
Jill was someone I met in class. We grew to like each other but she wasn’t someone I called a friend.
We were cool enough to move in together, but she stayed on her side, and I stayed on mine unless we had some tea for each other.
She was staying in my shit rent-free now that Law was paying everything and if she kept it up with Trey, both of their ass was going to be out of a place to stay.
Smoke was coming out of my ears as I pulled up to Law’s house and saw his car parked right in front of the door.
He only did that when he was doing a quick in and out.
I blocked his ass in and climbed out of my car.
I knocked, but the door was unlocked so I walked in on him putting on some shoes.
He didn’t have his shirt on yet, and all his muscles were flexing as he was slipping his other foot in his shoe.
“You don’t know how to answer the damn phone, Law? I’ve been worried sick about you.”
He looked up at me and stood up to put his shirt on. “Don’t come in here with that fucking arguing shit when I been sitting at the hospital for hours with my muthafuckin’ cousin.”
“You could have sent me that shit in a text. Why the fuck do I have to come out of my house this time of night to see you? And when you started hiding houses and shit from me?”
“Summer, what do you want? You see me. Now I need to go back to the hospital to check on Lj.” He opened the door and let out a frustrated sigh. “Come move your damn car from in front of mine.”
“I’ll just come with you.”
“Nah, I really want to be with Lj by myself. He just went through a lot. You just following along because you're insecure, but some serious shit just happened, and I don’t need you up there arguing with me and shit.”
“Well, can you at least come back to my place when you leave from up there?”
“I’ll let you know, baby. Now, can I go?” He kissed me on the lips as we both walked out the door.
Law locked up his house and got in his car, waiting for me to move.
I got in and left, heading back to my place where Jill and Trey were no longer in the living room.
Tomorrow I was going to have a conversation with her about Trey.
I shouldn’t feel uncomfortable in my own shit.
I slipped out of my clothes and put on some boxer shorts and a big shirt before climbing back in bed to roll me a blunt.
“Finally caught your door unlocked,” Trey whispered as he slipped in and locked the door.
“What the fuck? Get the fuck out of here.” I jumped up from the bed.
“Shhh, you want Jill to wake up?”
He walked up to my side of the bed but I was already up and ready to beat his ass if he tried some shit.
I hadn’t seen him in years and he was still fine as fuck.
His chocolate skin was smooth and free of blemishes.
The only facial hair he had was a small goatee under his chin.
Back in the day, he wore his hair in a bushy fro, but now it was cut low and his waves were making him look even sexier.
He was checking me out as well, biting on his bottom lip.
“Trey, please stop looking at me like that.”
“How long has it been? How long has it been since I touched you?” He reached out, but I slapped his hand.
“You got a fucking girlfriend and I have a man. You’ll never touch me again.” My lips were saying that shit, but my body was begging for him to touch me.
“Summer, quit playing. We never got to say goodbye, and you know it. That shit went bad over a text message. I couldn’t face you because I would’ve never left you. The only way to end it was through text message.”
I swallowed back tears as he continued telling his side.
“It’s been all these years and here we are face to face and you won’t even let me touch you. I took your virginity and made you a woman, and now I can’t touch you? I’m the same nigga that taught you how to drive, how to kiss, and how to make a damn pot of rice.”
“It’s best you leave. And when I say leave, I mean don’t come back here to my apartment again.” All my feelings for him were rushing back, and the quicker I got him out of here, the better.
“You don’t want that.” He stepped closer and stood over me. He inhaled my bushy hair. Trey grabbed me by the small of my back and pulled me into him. “I can’t keep my mind off of you since I walked in here the other night.”
“Trey…” I said before our lips touched.
“I know you got a nigga, but you’re still mine. What I gotta do to make you mine again? Can I make love to you?”
“I…I don’t think that’s a good idea.”
“Jill sleep. I had no idea y’all were roommates. Once I found that out, I didn’t want her ass anymore. I wanted you back. She ain’t gon’ know.”
“You can’t have me back.”
“One last time, and I promise, I’ll leave you alone.”
Shit! What the hell was I supposed to do with my first love standing here looking fine as hell begging for the pussy? Fuck it! Who was going to get hurt?
He slipped my shirt over my head and boxers down around my ankles.
He placed sweet kisses on my stomach where I had his name covered with colorful butterflies that sent chills down my spine.
Trey stopped kissing and looked at the tattoo, but didn’t say anything.
His shirt went over his head, and the first thing I saw was my name still big as day on his chest. I guess Jill hadn’t put the pieces together yet.
Her ass was dumb anyway. Trey laid me on the bed as we eyed each other.
My feelings were starting to rush back, but I had to fight it.
I closed my eyes and the only face I could see was Law as the head of Trey’s dick opened my folds.
Beating on my bedroom door scared us both. I hadn’t even been penetrated yet and my clit was throbbing. We scrambled for our clothes when Jill’s voice settled us down just a little.
“Summer, have you seen Trey?”
He held his finger up to his mouth. “Don’t say shit. She’ll think you’re asleep.”
She knocked a few more times before I watched her footsteps walk away from under my door.
“You got to go.” I helped him put his clothes back on.
“We got to finish this shit up.”
“It’s not meant for us to do this shit. Just go and tell her you went to the store or something, shit I don’t know.”
When he left the room, I locked my door and jumped in my bed with my heart racing.
For a minute, I thought it was Law. I was so glad that we didn’t get caught fucking.
Just some kissing and groping. Law would kill me if he found out Trey was right under my roof.
This shit was dangerous but I kind of liked it.
Now I see why people cheated. It was an adrenaline rush.
