Chapter 10

It wasn’t unusual for me and Law to break up.

He dealt with my craziness every day. He would let me calm down and then come back around, but this shit was different.

We were going on a week, and the nigga wasn’t answering calls or coming to his door.

Last night, when I went by his crib, it took everything in me not to bust out the windows to his shit.

He looked out the window at me and everything and still refused to open the door for me.

He was going to talk to me today. I was on my way to the restaurant to wait on his ass.

If he didn’t show up there, then I was going to the next business.

If the nigga didn’t pop up there, then I was going to sit in Lj’s hospital room.

I really didn’t give a fuck where he was; he was going to talk to me face to face.

Law’s ass wasn’t innocent in this relationship.

His ass got caught cheating a few times until I finally told him I was done and didn’t want to deal with his ass anymore.

He finally got his shit together and started curving hoes that tried him.

He could give me this one mistake and move on.

I hadn’t talked to Trey since that night.

It took me a day to realize that Law was the one that helped me get over Trey.

“Hey, Ms. Mae,” I spoke, as I walked into the restaurant.

“Hey baby. What you doing here? I thought Lawton was working for a few hours today.”

“Yea, I was coming up here to meet him.”

“I can tell by the look in your eyes that you’re on some crazy shit. Don’t do that shit in front of my damn customers. Take y’all ass in the back in my office because I swear if y’all start that arguing shit out here, I’m going to beat both of y’all ass.”

She knew how Law and I got when we were mad at each other.

Usually, I was mad at him but this time it was me.

He handled me a little rough, but it could have been worse.

I sat on one of the seats and played on my phone until I heard the motor of his Chevy pulling up.

I hated that flashy ass car, and it’s what made all the hoes flock to him.

He had it ever since I met him. He added a few upgrades, but for the most part it was the same.

Law got out of his car looking good. He hadn’t lost a damn wink of sleep, and I was sitting here with shades on, trying to hide my bags under my eyes.

From the way he was dressed, he wasn’t going to work long.

He wore a pair of black Levi’s with a white Gucci shirt.

The nigga walked right in and looked me in my face and walked off.

“Law!” I yelled, but Ms. Mae gave me a death stare, so I followed him to the back. “Law, don’t you hear me calling you?”

“Summer, what the fuck you want? I’m trying not to embarrass your dumb ass.”

“Take y’all ass to the office,” Ms. Mae fussed while pushing both of us.

As soon as she pushed us in there and closed the door, I was in his face.

“This how we acting, like you never fucked up?”

“Summer, back the fuck up off me. This shit ain’t about me. This about you letting another nigga fuck you.”

“So, you ain’t never gave these girls no dick?” He ignored me and tried to move around me to get out the door. “Answer me, Law.”

“How long ago, Summer? We been together four years, and you talking about some shit that happened in our first few months of being together. You can take that fuck shit on somewhere.”

“It don’t matter when it was, you did it and I’m still here.”

“Man, let me get the fuck away from you. I been doing good this week without your ass. A nigga was even able to make it to church.”

I pulled his shirt as he tried to walk out the door. I’m still not sure what made me do it because he slapped the shit out of me.

“Summer, right now it’s best you stay away from me until I figure out if I want you or not. Right now, I don’t want you. I love your ass, but I ain’t trying to wife and have a baby with a hoe.”

“You don’t mean that shit. You mad right now, but ain’t no other bitch in the city gon’ have you.”

“You done? I got to go home and change since you stretching shirts and shit.”

He opened the door and left me in there.

I got myself together before I walked out and quickly walked through the kitchen.

Law was outside getting ready to get in his car but was stopped by a bitch.

My hair was already up in a ponytail and I was ready to muthafuckin’ go.

All these bitches knew even when we were on a break, he was still off limits.

“Excuse me,” I stepped to them.

“You excused.” She stated. “Like I was saying, it’s this weekend.”

“I’ll slide through and holler at you,” Law told her.

“Yea, do that. You can even bring your little bulldog here.”

“Bitch, do you know me? Law should have told you who I was. The last time I cussed your ass out; I thought you got the picture.”

“Baby girl, I know who you are. Settle it down. If he yours, why you worried. Besides, ain’t no wedding rings so he a free pick, bitch.

You should learn how to be a little more confident in your pussy.

That’s where all your power is, have a good day boo.

” She winked before going in the restaurant.

She was the same bitch that asked for Law over a week ago.

“Who the fuck is she? And why the fuck you talking to her in front of my face.”

Law laughed and got in his car. Between the music and the motor, he couldn’t hear me talking shit to him as he backed out of the parking spot and peeled out of the parking lot.

I got in my car and headed to my business that was about to open next week.

My focus was off because Law wasn’t talking to me, but I had to get back to business.

“Why I got to hunt you down?” Trey said as soon as I hit the talk button on my steering wheel.

“I been busy trying to get my building ready to be opened.”

“You lying. Your nigga left you, didn’t he?”

“Trey, it’s really not a good time right now.”

“Come see me or let’s go out and catch a movie so I can make it up to you.”

“I’ll see.” I tried to keep it short with him.

“Holler at me. I’m about to head back in my job.”

“Yea.” I hit the end button as I trailed Law.

I wasn’t trying to follow him, but I noticed his ass as I was talking on the phone.

His ass was on the phone smiling and shit like he was talking to a bitch.

Pulling up next to him at the light, I blew the horn and told him to roll his window down, but he ignored me.

My crazy ass followed him all the way to the hospital.

“Summer, take your crazy ass on somewhere. You worried about me but ain’t shit done at your business. Get the fuck on somewhere and handle your business while I handle mine. When I’m ready to fuck with you, I will. I may just call you for some pussy, shit I don’t know.”

“Fuck you, Law.”

“Crazy ass,” he mumbled.

I had to get my shit together. He knew how I was when he got with me.

I told him off the rip that I pull up, show out, and all.

He was cool with it but I’m not going to lie and say he shuts my ass down.

Trey on the other hand egged the shit on.

Since Law was acting stubborn, I was going to take Trey up on his offer. I was single, right?
