Chapter 31
I didn’t do the chasing. Niggas chased me.
The only one that wasn’t chasing was Law.
He wanted to but he had a different situation than most niggas.
He actually loved his bitch and he cared about her feelings.
If he would’ve stayed a few seconds longer a few nights ago, I would be stretched out on one of those beds, letting him tear up my insides.
Now I had to settle with this married, no-good ass nigga that fucked my life up.
The next time I ran into Law, I wasn’t going to let him slip away without putting it down on him.
His dick was hard when he left, so I knew my game was still there but his bitch and the baby ran across his mind.
Oh, and his one-armed friend that was jealous because I wouldn’t fuck him. He was in Law head too.
Today was a new day. Every morning I woke up alive, I started with a new mindset.
This morning I wasn’t feeling it. Rolling over to see some random nigga was not what I wanted to wake up to.
Spending the night with me was a major turn-off.
After sex, I hated looking in a man’s face.
Really, I had a deep hatred for men but they had something I loved.
“Hey…hey.” I shook him violently and made him snort. “You need to wake up and leave.”
“Aight, just give me five more minutes.”
“Oh, hell nah! Get your ass up! How the hell you ended up staying overnight anyway?” I got out the bed and put my robe on, so I could throw this nigga his clothes.
I don’t even remember us having sex so it couldn’t have been that great. Picking up his jeans, underwear and shirt, I threw them at him, making sure to hit him in his face. A pack of condoms fell out of his pocket.
Please don’t tell me I fucked up, I thought to myself.
“Get up! I need you gone in five minutes or I’m calling the police.” That simple word had him up out the bed in seconds.
“I swear all y’all bitches the same.” He mumbled as he put his clothes back on.
I lit my incense and turned my music on to drown him out from all the complaining he was doing. His name had left me so I didn’t want to acknowledge him and say the wrong thing. He stood there fully dressed and stared at me before walking down the stairs and out the door.
“Adarryl! That’s his name,” I said as he got in his car and left. It didn’t matter. He would never get that close to me again.
Stepping in the shower, I let my hot water beat up my body as I thought about how to plan my day out.
I had to meet with Ms. Mae about the catering job I hired her for and then I had to go and keep Heavy ass off my ass.
Giving the nigga the money didn’t mean shit because he wanted more than that. He wanted me but I didn’t want his ass.
The weather was changing in Savannah and my skin was in need of some serious sun but lately the gloomy skies were covering the sun. As I sat at my makeup station and applied my moisturizer, my phone notified me that I had a text message but right as I was about to check it, my doorbell chimed.
Making my way to the door, I was surprised to see a woman standing at my door.
One thing I didn’t play about was bitches showing up at my door.
If I counted the number of times people text my business phone begging for me to pay bills or pay for some shit for their kids.
I opened the big wooden door and was slapped in the face before I could say anything.
“Bitch, stay the fuck away from my husband. I’m sick of your ass.”
“Did you slap me, hoe?” I covered my stinging face.
“You better be lucky that I didn’t beat your ass. Heavy been doing good until he told me he was coming back to Savannah to handle business and come to find out, it’s your hoe ass.”
“I’m so sick of y’all hoes coming at me like I’m the problem. Did you check your husband?”
“Bitch I got that under control. You not innocent in this shit either. You been fucking with him for years now, knowing he was married to me. This my last time telling you to leave him alone or you’re going to force me to go there with your ass.”
“Bitch, fuck you and your nigga. We did have business together but we fuck when we wanted too. I’m sick of y’all simple-minded hoes coming for me. And since you throwing threats out there at my shit, I must let you know that I don’t fight ugly bitches,” I slammed the door in her face.
Of course, Heavy was blowing my phone up when I made it back to my room. I snatched that phone up so fast and answered it, I knocked the lamp off.
“Pussy nigga let me tell you something, keep your bitch from around my house. I didn’t ask for your ass to be around. You know I don’t like all that arguing and shit.”
“Pinkie shut the fuck and let me talk!”
“Nigga fuck you! Keep her from around me. How the hell she know where I stay?”
“She followed me a few nights ago.”
“Heavy just leave me the fuck alone. You got your money now leave me alone.”
“Ain’t shit over until I say so. I’ll handle my wife; you just make sure you available when I say so.” He hung up the phone in my face.
“Ms. Mae, how much should I write this check out for?” I asked, as we wrapped up our meeting.
“For the number of people coming and the time of night you’re having the gathering, I’ll charge you $650, and that’s still cheap.”
I wrote the check for an even thousand and gave it to her.
“Pinkie, this is too much.”
“It’s fine. Go do something nice for yourself with the extra money.”
“You know, Law takes good care of me. I don’t need anything.”
“I’m sure he does. How is he?”
Ms. Mae grabbed my hand and looked at me with compassion in her eyes, “Pinkie, you know whatever he did with you was a mistake, right? He’s never going to leave Summer for you.”
“I never said I wanted him to.”
“I know. I know, but all I’m saying is please leave him alone. My granddaughter is on the way, and I don’t want any problems between those two.”
“What makes you think I’m the problem?”
She looked at me funny. “We both know you’re the problem.”
I removed my hand from hers and put my checkbook back in my purse.
As sweet as she was, she couldn’t think that I was fucking up Law’s home.
I never said anything to Summer; she always bothered me.
Law wasn’t even giving me the time of day, and she was still doing dumb shit.
Just like she slipped and liked one of my pictures last night and tried to take her like back.
“I’ll see you next week. If you need more money, just give me a call.”
