I have officially made my mind up. I am installing those cameras in Serena”s bedroom.

I was starting to think I didn”t need to. But after the text messages and someone breaking into her room while she was home, everything changed. I won’t let that fucker get close to her again. I will do anything and everything in my power to keep her safe.

After watching her drive to school this morning, I broke off from the guys and drove to my mom’s house. I knew she wouldn’t be home, so I quickly ran in and grabbed everything I needed before heading back to Serena’s house.

When Midas stole her keys this morning, he managed to take her house key off the ring. Thankfully, he is quick on his feet. I unlocked the door and walked back to Serena’s room. I place my bag on her bed and start to get to work.

I take out five cameras and find the best places to put them: three in the bedroom, one in the closet, and one in the bathroom. I pointed the cameras at the vanity and door. I may be taking most of Serena”s privacy away, but I won’t take all of it. She doesn’t need us watching her while she is showering.

Once I installed and set the cameras up, I decided to snoop around a little. I know Serena is hiding more from us, but I don’t know what. I have a gut feeling there is more to the story than we know. I start opening drawers and looking around, ensuring I put everything back where I found it.

I couldn’t find anything in her bedside table, desk, or dresser. I turn to her closet and turn the light on. Where would she hide things in here? I pull boxes on the shelves and move her clothes around. I glance around, beginning to think I won”t find anything. Then, I see something sticking out under her shoes. Bingo. I pull out a thick envelope. I walk back into her room and sit down on her bed. Her delicate scent wafting off it. Vanilla and mango fill my nose, and I groan. I love the way she smells.

I carefully pull out everything in the envelope and instantly see red, picture after picture of Serena. I go through all of them, my anger growing with each passing picture. Then, I came across one of us leaving the clubhouse. Our faces scratched out. And lastly, a note.

My anger is palpable, wanting to destroy her room. I held myself together, not wanting her to know I was in here. I take out my phone and take pictures of what I found before sending them to Midas and Odin. Carefully, I put everything back in the envelope and back into her closet, where I found it.

I make sure to lock the door after I leave and drive back to school. I missed first period, but I couldn’t care less, especially after what I found. My anger has been coursing through my entire body, and I need a way to get rid of it all. Hopefully, Zane has a job for us tonight because I need to take this out on someone.

Midas and Odin are waiting for me when I pull into school. They look exactly how I feel. I park my bike next to theirs. Before I can even take my helmet off, Midas is talking a mile a minute, asking me about everything I found. Odin is standing beside him, too quiet. I figured he would be the one to be freaking out on the outside, but he acts calm. Too calm. Odin takes his knife out and starts twirling it in his fingers.

“What the hell, Midas? You were supposed to walk me to class.” Valerie whines as she walks over to us. I groan and turn away from her, not in the mood to deal with her shit.

I still don’t know why Midas made us leave Serena for this vile creature in front of us. I tried to talk to him about it, but he wouldn’t give me a straight answer and told me to drop it. All he said was that it was best for Serena. That’s complete bullshit, and he knows it. He is just too stubborn to admit it.

“Fuck off.” Odin seethes, swiftly turning around, his knife against Valerie’s throat. A small trickle of blood runs down her neck.

She doesn’t move, scared. She gulps, looking at Midas, begging him to save her with her eyes. Midas scowls down at her before nodding his head to Odin. Odin starts shaking with tension. He digs his knife in a little more before pulling away and pocketing his knife.

Valerie starts screaming and crying, gripping her neck like she is about to bleed out. I roll my eyes at her. She is barely bleeding.

“I’m done, Valerie.” Midas is quiet, trying to keep himself from blowing up.

Valerie’s eyes go wide with shock before she narrows them at him. She stomps over to him and gets in his face. “You just made a big mistake, Midas.” Her tone is low, menacing for such a small girl. She flicks her newly dyed hair over her shoulder and storms away.We all noticed she dyed it the same shade as Serena, attempting to make herself look more like the girl we were interested in. I bet she thinks if she looks more like Serena, we will want her instead. She is sorely mistaken.

Odin and I look at Midas, but he shakes his head. Hopefully, he will tell us later what that was all about. We go back to discussing Serena and what we need to do to get this stalker of hers. First things first, we need to figure out who this fucker is. Second, we can’t leave her side until we get whoever this person is and Serena is safe. None of us have a problem being closer to her, but I know she will fight it, especially after we all claimed her that night and left her without a word.

“Let’s just get through today at school. Keep our eyes on Serena, and then after school, meet at my house and create a better plan.” Midas says, his hands pushing his hair back.

It’s Friday night. We have spent all week trailing Serena and trying to find a way to figure out who this stalker is. Serena hasn’t said a word to us all week, but we expected that to happen. I have been trying to give her space, letting her feel what she needs to, but it is killing me not being with her.

Midas still hasn’t told us what the whole thing with Valerie was about, but we haven’t had the time to ask. I still wonder what she meant when she told him he made a big mistake, but knowing her, it’s just her vanity showing through. She has always thought she was at the top of the food chain.

I have spent every night watching her on the cameras, imagining being in her room with her. I try to give her as much privacy as possible, but I can’t stop myself. I can’t seem to turn my phone off anymore. The feed always plays when she is in her room.

We followed her to Evie’s house after school and waited an hour before we gave up and headed back to our warehouse. I hate that we are so far away from where she is, but there is nothing we can do while she is there. Plus, some new shipments are coming in tonight, and our dads said we have to deal with it.

Zane decided to store the next drug shipment here because we push most of it through our parties. With our Halloween party tomorrow night, it makes sense.

Not long later, a truck pulls in and honks the horn three times. The stupid signal to let us know it’s the shipment. Let’s get this over with. We all walk outside and come face to face with our dads. I wasn’t expecting them to be dropping it off. They try to stay as clean as they can. Our dad”s delivering this is making me suspicious. When they are involved, you know it”s not a good thing and not club business.

“Boys,” My dad says while walking to us. “Good to see you.” He tries to hug me, but I take a step back. My dad has never been the type of man to show affection, and we don’t have a great relationship. After my accident and my parents got divorced, I moved in with my mom. She was so broken and hurt after everything that happened. I was the only person she had. He looks defeated but quickly wipes his face, showing no emotion.

“We have a new product we want you to try and push tomorrow,” Ryker says, his eyes too bright.

“What’s the new product?” Midas cautiously asks.

Zane pulls a small baggie out of his pocket and tosses it to Midas. He catches it and looks at the little white pills. They don’t look like anything special. I raise a questioning eyebrow at my dad, hoping someone will elaborate.

“It’s called Z. We don’t know the effects of it, only that it”s strong. You are supposed to lose all inhibitions on it.” Dad says, shrugging his shoulders.

A couple of younger kids I don”t recognize jump out of the cargo van and start unloading the cases of drugs. I watch as they walk by. They can”t be older than I, but I can”t recall ever seeing them around town. I hear them talking to each other, but I don”t know the language. If I had to guess, they sound Russian.

Zane tells them where the storage room is in the back. I watch as each case is loading in, a feeling of something wrong brewing in me, twelve in total. Our dad’s eyes lit up with each case that passed through the doors. When the men finish working, they quickly get on their truck and wait for our dads.

The six of us walk into the storage room. The cases line one wall, each labeled with what is in them. 2 crates of weed, cocaine, and ecstasy each. Plus, six crates of Z.

“We are sending a few younger members here tomorrow night to help sell. Let those rich fuckers buy as much as they want.” Zane orders us. We nod our heads, knowing not to argue with our President. Zane smiles at us, and the three of them turn to walk out.

Having a few members here to sell tomorrow will fuck with our plans, but it is also a way for our dads to keep an eye on us. They know we love the MC but are resistant to what they want. The way they lead will lead us down too many dark and dangerous paths. We may play our parts when we have to, but that doesn’t mean we don’t have our own plans.

Sure, selling drugs isn’t bad, but we hate pushing the hard shit. Weed, ecstasy, Molly, that shit is easy to push. Cocaine, heroin, and now Z are not what we want. I still have a gut feeling there is more going on with our dads and how they make money for the club. We have no proof, so we can’t do anything about it. The club voted to sell all these drugs, except for Z. Never heard of it before night. My guess, they want to test the drug before bringing it to a vote.

We stay still until we hear the truck start and drive away before we collectively take a sigh of relief. I turn back to the cases and pull out a small baggy of Z to look at the pills. It appears harmless, but I can feel the darkness that this drug will bring. I close my fist around the baggy, crushing the pills. I throw it on the ground and walk away from it all.

I need to get out of here. I need to see her. Serena. My serenity. I hear Odin and Midas follow me out. I hop on my bike and peel out on the dirt road. As soon as I hit the main road, I drive as fast as possible, not caring about anything but getting to Serena.

We finally turn onto our street, and I see the worst thing I could imagine, and that would cause me to go on a rampage. Serena is at her door, kissing another guy. When she pulls away from him, she gives him a smile before walking back into her house. I park my bike behind the guy”s Porsche in her laneway. He turned around, and I didn’t think I could be any angrier. Dante fucking Lupo is strolling over to us.

“Good evening, gentleman.” He strolls over to us, looking smug.

“Midas! Wait!” Odin yells from behind us.

I don’t hear him coming up, but I see Midas cock his fist back and punch Dante in the face. A nasty right hook that sends Dante back a few steps. He wipes his lip, a little blood on his fingertips. Dante lets out a dangerous laugh but doesn’t retaliate. I grab Midas and pull back, stopping him from attacking Dante again. His body is shaking in my arms, his breathing so raged.

“Careful, boys. You wouldn’t want to start a war you couldn’t win. Then again, Serena is a girl worth going to war for.” Dante moves his jacket, revealing a gun strapped to his side.

“Serena is ours.” Odin seethes from beside me.

“Oh, is she now?” He mockingly says to Odin. “Don’t worry. I promise to take good care of her for you.” He starts laughing and turns around to walk to his car.

My bike is still behind him, but I wouldn’t put it past him to run it over. I look at Midas, checking he isn’t about to do anything stupid before moving my bike out of harm”s way. Dante grins at me before pulling out of the laneway. Midas walks over to the driver-side window and waits for Dante to roll it down. He rolls his eyes and then lowers the window.

“I swear to God, if you hurt a hair on Serena’s head, war will be the least of your worries. No one will recognize you when I am through.” Midas’s voice was so low. It”s so dark and terrifying even I get a shiver of dread from him.

Dante laughs at Midas’s words. “Tell Valerie I say hi.”

Those words ring in my ears. What does Dante mean by that? How the hell is Valerie involved in all this?

We watch while Dante drives away. I wait until he is out of eyesight before turning to Midas. My eyes turn dark. “Speak.”
