2. Chapter Two

CHAPTER TWO

EZRA

E zra stared at her in shock. Had she just said what he thought she’d said? How did she know what he was?

He had figured out he was a Daddy Dom while they were dating. It was something he had been exploring and didn’t know how she would react to it. He hadn’t wanted to tell her, and she had not want anything to do with him. So, he kept it a secret, and it broke his heart.

Maylee breaking up with him because he wouldn’t tell her was one thing he regretted. He should have told her that he was a Daddy Dom and explained everything to her. But he hadn’t, and Ezra had to live with that regret.

He had tried dating a couple Littles from the club, but it never lasted long. He was in love with Maylee, and nothing would change his mind. Ezra had thought he would spend the rest of his life alone. But he was wrong.

It wasn’t until a few months ago that the hope didn’t die. He had seen a tiny spark of a Little inside of her. Ezra hadn’t wanted to ask her about it right away, fearful she would react badly and tell him to screw off.

Ever so slowly, he had started to take charge and become more bossy. She hadn’t said a word and had fallen into a submissive role around him. Not that she hadn’t before. Out of the two of them, growing up even, he had always been the more dominant one. He took care of her and made sure everything went smoothly and correctly.

“How did you know?” he asked her.

Had she been secretly hiding her Little side from him for years? Had she discovered it while he had been deployed?

Ezra had hated every minute he was away from her. He loved what he had done and didn’t regret being in the Army, but he’d left Maylee in Deadwood all by herself. She didn’t have to tell him how hard it had been on her.

He knew.

He had some of his friends keep an eye on her while he was gone. It had been the hardest time of his life, and he had kept a picture of her in his pocket the whole time.

His lucky charm.

Maylee shrugged, and he didn’t like that.

“Not an answer. You do know,” he said.

She sighed. “I don’t want to talk about it.”

“I don’t like that answer either.”

“Tough luck. I don’t want to talk about it.”

He sighed. “Why not? I’m not going to make fun of you.”

She moved to stand up, but he wasn’t having any of that. She was not going to leave right now. Not when they were having an important conversation .

“Sit down,” he commanded. “Tell Daddy how you knew.”

Shit. He shouldn’t have said that, but it was so hard. He could see the Little inside her, and he wanted to help her.

Maylee immediately sat down, her eyes wide. He shouldn’t have said that, but he couldn’t take it back. He’d said what he said, and he didn’t regret it.
