27. Chapter Twenty-Seven

CHAPTER TWENTY-SEVEN

MAYLEE

S everal days had passed since she had started to feel better, and they had the talk. They were in a rhythm—a good rhythm. He had been busy at work, so she hadn’t seen him in person, but he texted her any chance he got.

Her rules still applied, and he had her sending pictures of when she ate. One day it was even a video because she had hit a bad streak of not drinking her milk in the morning. Yeah, that wasn’t fun. Now she had been making sure to drink her milk in the morning.

Every night, Daddy would call and tell her a bedtime story before saying good night. It was one of her many favorite times. To hear him tell a story and lull her to sleep. Sometimes, he would even sing.

Daddy had a wonderful voice and any time she could hear him sing, she fell silent and listened. He didn’t like to sing much, but he also knew it was one of her favorite things .

Maylee’s phone went off and she quickly grabbed it and saw that Daddy had texted her.

Daddy

Can we go out?

Maylee

Yes!

Excitement bubbled inside of her. They had been trying to make time to see each other, and it was finally working. They had both been busy with work, and their lunch times were not matching. She got off later than he did and just wanted to sleep after. Or Daddy would get off work late sometimes, and she would already be asleep. It sucked, and all she wanted to do was spend time with him.

Daddy

Great! I’ll pick you up in an hour. Wear a dress.

She let out a little squeal and liked his message. Time to get ready.

Her nerves jangled as she waited for Daddy to get to her house. Who knew waiting could be so boring and nerve wracking. Maylee shouldn’t have gotten ready so soon, but she couldn’t help herself. The excitement of going had overcome her logical side, and she got ready quickly.

Now she had been waiting for more than twenty minutes—twenty long minutes. She was never doing this again. She needed to remember to tell Daddy she only wanted a ten-minute warning so she could get ready and he would be there by the time she was done. Maybe that would solve her dilemma.

But part of her had a feeling Daddy would tell her to be patient and that it was good for her to practice her patience. Sure, it might be good to practice her patience, but she did that every day at work. When she got home, she didn’t want to be patient. Nobody did.

The doorbell rang, and she jumped up from her seat and flew to the door. When she opened it, she gave Daddy a big smile.

But Daddy wasn’t smiling. “Did you look through the peephole?”

Nerves shot through her, and for a second she considered lying, but that wouldn’t end well.

She shook her head. “No.”

“Naughty girl,” Daddy said, gently. “Come on, inside the house. I told you the next time you didn’t look through the peephole I was going to spank you.”

She shook her head and grabbed her bottom. “Nuuuuu!” she whined. “No spanking. I is a good girl.”

He cocked his eyebrow at her. “You are a good girl, but sometimes good girls can be naughty. You were naughty. Daddy told you to look through the hole in the door for your safety, and yet you did not. Daddy also warned you the next time you did it you were going to get a spanking. So, I’m going to give you a spanking.”

She widened her eyes and shook her head again. Maybe she remembered him saying that, but she honestly hadn’t expected he would spank her. He hadn’t done so since they got together. It was always lines, and she figured he wasn’t the spanking type, that it was only a threat, and he wouldn’t follow through.

“Ah, I know that look. Well, lucky for you, Daddy doesn’t just say things to say things. If I tell you I’m going to spank you I will,” Daddy said. “Now, inside the house you go. We’re going to get your spanking done, and then we’ll go out.”

How was she going to sit anywhere when she just got her butt spanked? Were other people going to know? Her anxiety rose at that thought. She didn’t want other people to know she had just been spanked.

“What’s wrong?” Daddy asked.

This was her first spanking. Was she ready for it?

“Maylee. Answer Daddy.”

She looked at Daddy, who was sitting on the couch. She hadn’t even realized she had gone back into the house with Daddy close behind her. She had been so out of it.

“I just. Won’t other people know?” she whispered.

“Come sit on Daddy’s lap while we have this talk. Daddy needs you close.”

This was probably a lie but he was trying to help her. She wasn’t going to give that up. Maylee went over and sat on his lap.

“Now, tell me what you’re so worried about,” Daddy said.

She drew a deep breath. “Won’t they know that I got spanked before we went out? Maybe we shouldn’t go out after or push the spanking to after.”

Maybe, if they pushed the spanking to after, he would forget about it.

“First off, they won’t know. Unless you let them know. Your dress covers your bottom, so they won’t know that your bottom is pink from my touch. And second, even if there wasn’t an indicator that naughty girls got spanked before they went out, you wouldn’t want to wait until after. You would be worried the whole time we went out and not have any fun.”

Okay, so maybe he was right about the second part. She would be so worried about the promised spanking and how it was going to go that it would ruin the whole night of going out and having fun with him.

“I just, I don’t want a spanking. You’ve only talked about it, but you’ve never actually done it,” she pointed out.

“Exactly. I only promised to spank you if you didn’t look through the peephole the next time, and you didn’t. So, I’m acting on my promise now so you know I will follow through with what I say,” Daddy replied, gently. “Now, you’re going to lie over my lap after you pull down your panties, and I’m going to spank you.”

Daddy helped her off his lap, and she slowly pulled down her underwear and left them on the ground before lying over his lap.

“Ready?” Daddy asked. “At any point if you need to say you’re safeword, you can. Can you remind me what your safeword is?”

“Red,” she whispered .

“Such a good girl.” He started to lightly rub her bottom with his hands.

The anticipation was starting to get to her. Daddy just continued to rub her bottom ever so gently. Was he ever going to start? She didn’t like waiting—especially when it came to this.

Right as she started to relax a swat landed on her bottom. She yelled out in pain and from shock.

“I want you to say, ‘Thank you, Daddy’ every time I spank you,” he said.

“Thank you, Daddy.”

How long was she going to be able to do that? She didn’t know. It wasn’t going to take her long to start crying and not being able to talk. She had never a high pain tolerance, and Daddy knew that.

Several more swats landed on her bottom, harder this time. She screamed out in pain, and her bottom started to throb.

“Thank you, Daddy,” she said, shakily.

“You’re okay.”

Was she, though? Maylee wasn’t so sure about that. She had only received four spankings, and her bottom was already throbbing. She didn’t know how much longer he was going to go or whether she was going to last. Never in her wildest dreams had she expected the spankings were going to be this hard.

Tears blurred her vision, and Daddy landed several more, some on her sit spots. She wailed out in pain as he continued to spank her. Flailing her legs, she tried to reach back with her hand to stop him, but Daddy quickly grabbed it and held her hand at the small of her back.

“Keep your hands still. I don’t want to hit them while I’m spanking you.”

She continued to kick, but it did not help. Daddy continued to spank her bottom and sit spots.

“T-Thank y-you, D-Daddy,” she sobbed out.

Daddy rubbed her bottom for several seconds before he started to spank her again. These were harder and more on her sit spots than ever before.

Maylee sobbed and went limp over his lap. Daddy immediately stopped spanking her and started to rub her bottom.

“Such a good girl,” Daddy said, gently. “My good girl.”

He maneuvered her body so she was sitting on his. She snuggled into his chest as he rubbed her and slowly started to rock them. Tears were running down her face. Her bottom was still throbbing, and it only hurt worse as she sat on his lap.

“All is forgiven now,” Daddy said. “Now, are you ready to go out?”

She pulled away from his embrace and shook her head. Go out after she had just cried and got spanked? Yeah, no way.

“Why not?” he asked.

“My face is going to be all red from crying, and I won’t be able to sit,” she wailed.

“Your face isn’t red for one. We’ll wipe your tears away, and nobody will know you cried.”

She shook her once again. “And my bottom?”

He gave her a gentle smile. “You know naughty girls who get their bottom spanked have to sit on that bottom. No cushions at all.”

Maylee pouted. “No fair. I should be able to sit on a cushion. You probably bruised my bottom.”

“I know I didn’t, but if you’re worried, then I can check every couple of hours.”

“Nope. That’s okay.”

“Hmmm. I think I should. Make sure your bottom isn’t bruised too badly.”

She shook her head. “It’s not. I promise it’s not.”

“Well, I’ll be checking later just to make sure. If in a couple hours there’s nothing then I will check again.”

She nodded slowly, knowing there was no way to get out of it. Daddy had made up his mind, and that was it. No changing his mind now.

“Are you ready to go eat now?”

She nodded and Daddy helped her stand up. Maylee was starving.

Daddy didn’t allow Maylee to wear her underwear. She had begged him to allow her to, but Daddy wasn’t having it. He had told her he had planned to pleasure her while they were at the restaurant, but since she had been naughty, he said they weren’t going to do it. Why had she been naughty? Sometimes she didn’t think things through.

Maylee fidgeted in her seat, pulling her dress down even further. What if someone saw? What if she moved and exposed herself?

“You’re okay,” Daddy said. “No one can see a thing. That’s why you’re on the inside, and I’m on the outside.”

Okay, so maybe she was being a little bit paranoid, but she had a good reason. What if somebody dropped something on the floor, bent down to get it, she moved, and they saw everything? She would be absolutely mortified, since everybody knew everybody in town. It would spread like wildfire that she hadn’t been wearing any underwear.

This was something she didn’t want to happen. If it did then she would have to move—another thing she didn’t want to do. If people found out it wouldn’t be so bad for him, though, because he could play it off as him not knowing.

“Everything is going to be fine,” Daddy said. “No one knows you don’t have any panties on.”

“Shhhh.” She raised her voice. “Don’t talk so loudly.”

Daddy gave her an amused look. “Did you just tell Daddy to be quiet?”

Her eyes went wide. “I’m sorry. I’m just a little stressed. I don’t want anyone to know.”

“And they won’t. I promise you. Now, take a deep breath in for me and slowly let it out. Such a good girl.”

Right as she let out the breath of air, their waitress came back with their food.

“Here’s your two steaks with a side of fries. Let me know if you need anything,” she said, before leaving.

“See, she didn’t know a thing. You’re all right. If you keep acting like something’s off, somebody’s going to ask, and then what are you going to do?”

“Leave it up to you to answer?” Maylee wasn’t sure.

Daddy laughed loudly and wrapped his arms around her. “Daddy will answer if somebody asks, but you really don’t have anything to worry about.”

Maylee drew another deep breath and nodded. Daddy was going to take care of it if anything happened. Hopefully, nothing would.

“I’m going to cut up your steak and make sure the temperature is right. Then you can eat.” Daddy kissed her forehead.

She watched in fascination as Daddy started to cut up her steak in bite-sized pieces. This was something he had never done. Before they got back together, he had offered, but she had always said no. This time, he wasn’t giving her a choice, and she liked that.

Maylee looked around the small restaurant to see if anybody else was watching them, but nobody was. For a second she assumed people might look over because he was cutting up her food. She was a grown woman, and he was cutting up her food, which was a strange sight.

But as she looked over to the left side of the room, she saw another man cutting up the girl’s food. Daddy wasn’t the only one.

A sigh of relief left her, and she relaxed into her chair. They weren’t the only ones. Maylee didn’t know why that made her relax so much.

“I was wondering when you were going to notice Valentine,” Daddy said, softly.

Her eyebrows went up as she stared at Daddy. He knew them ?

“Yes, Lee, I do know them. Valentine works for This We’ll Defend Security. He’s on leave right now, though. Some much-needed vacation time after a hard case.”

Maylee had never seen him before. Granted, she had never seen many of the guys who worked with Daddy. Most of them were always on a job and were never around. Or they went from job to job and never came back to Deadwood.

She didn’t know how they did that, but some of them did. Maybe because they didn’t have any ties to Deadwood. Either way, she always felt bad for them.

“Don’t continue to stare. Staring is rude,” Daddy said. “You wouldn’t want people to stare at you so don’t stare at them. We don’t know if the girl is shy or not.”

Maylee immediately looked away. “Sorry,” she whispered.

She honestly didn’t even know she was staring at them again. Her gaze had simply found them. She hoped she didn’t make the girl uncomfortable. She didn’t want that.

“It’s okay, Lee. I was just letting you know. Daddy isn’t upset with you.”

Nodding, she picked up her fork and continued to look at the table. There was no way she trusted herself to look up and not gaze at them. She knew it was going to be hard, so she wasn’t going to let herself have that temptation.

“Maylee, look at Daddy,” he commanded.

Her eyes found his, and he smiled at her—one of his smiles she absolutely loved to see.

“You can look around. Just don’t stare at them. We don’t want to make them uncomfortable just like they don’t want to make you uncomfortable. ”

“Make us uncomfortable?” she whispered.

“Yes. I’ve caught them, or well, I’ve caught her looking over at us a couple of times. Both of you are curious and want to look around but both of you have a tendency to stare longer than you should.”

“Do you know her?”

Daddy shook his head. “I don’t but she’s acting just like you. A Little girl who is curious but also nervous. You see something that is similar and makes you relax, you stare. I suspect it’s the same way with her.”

Maylee relaxed when Daddy said he didn’t know her. She didn’t know why she had started to get jealous. Daddy was hers now, and she didn’t have to worry about anyone taking him away from her.

Daddy kissed her forehead and held her close to him as he started to eat.

“Eat, Lee. Or do you need Daddy to feed you?” he asked.

She started to fidget in her chair. Part of her wanted him to feed her because he had done that several times but another didn’t want him to because they were out in public. What would other people think?

“How about we do a mix of both?” Daddy asked. “You take a bite, and when you’re done, I can feed you some of my food. Then nobody has to know I’m feeding you your food. No one can see that our food is exactly the same, so they might think that you’re just wanting to try my food.”

But before she could answer, somebody walked over. “Hey, Ezra. Haven’t seen you in a while,” Valentine said.

“How have you been doing?” Daddy asked.

Maylee took in Valentine as he talked to Daddy. He was a tall man, muscular, with a buzz cut. He screamed military to her.

“I see you finally got with her?” Valentine asked.

“Finally got back with her, yes. First time was the right person but the wrong time, and this time it’s the right person, right time. I’m never letting her go,” Daddy said.

“I’m happy for you, I really am. I remember you talking about her whenever we were working jobs together.”

She quirked her eyebrows as she looked at Daddy. He spoke about her when they were on jobs? Maylee figured they talked about anything about that. Well, she didn’t know for sure, but she thought they didn’t talk about her since she didn’t think he still loved her back then.

“And is that your girl?” Daddy asked.

“Uhh no. That’s my stepsister,” Valentine replied.

Maylee was shocked at that information. The way she saw him interact with her was not like they were step siblings. It was more like they had loved each other for years. But they were step siblings and not actually siblings. So, if they wanted to be together, she couldn’t tell them not to because they weren’t related.

“Well, I just wanted to say hello and I’ll leave you to be,” Valentine said.

“If you ever need to talk, let me know. I’m free whenever,” Daddy replied.

She watched as Valentine returned to his stepsister.

“Open up,” Daddy said as he held a fork full of steak to her mouth.

She opened and took the bite of food. The steak’s juices exploded in her mouth, and she moaned in pleasure. It tasted delicious—hands down one of the best steaks she had ever had.

“So, step siblings?” she whispered.

“Yes, but not another word. It’s not illegal,” Daddy replied.

“Oh, I know. They aren’t related at all. No blood. I think he should go for it. The way he looks at her.”

“Maylee.”

“What? It’s nothing wrong.”

“I know, but this is not the place to talk about it. Maybe another time. Right now, let’s just enjoy each other.”

She lay in his arms, loving the feeling of them wrapped around her. Maylee got some of the best night’s sleep when his arms were wrapped around her. To feel safe the whole time and know if anything happened, Daddy was going to take care of it. It was heaven, and she wanted to have it every night.

Maylee had been thinking about bringing this up with Daddy—about her moving in—but she didn’t know the right time for it. She wanted to make it more official because both of them wanted it, but every book she had read and in every TV show she had seen, the guy always asked. The girl didn’t have to bring it up, and Maylee was at a loss. Would it be appropriate for her to ask?

Daddy’s phone went off, and she looked askance at him. Normally his phone didn’t go off this late at night. Who could be calling?

“Daddy has to take this,” he said, gently, as he got out of bed.

He walked away and answered the call. Dread filled her stomach as he spoke. Something was up—something she wasn’t going to like.

It felt like an eternity while he was on the phone, when it had been only a few minutes. Daddy slowly came back to her, his expression grim.

“What’s wrong? Is everything okay?” she asked.

Daddy just continued to observe her, and her dread continued to increase. Why wasn’t he saying anything? Why was he giving her the most devastated look?

“Maylee,” he said. “I just got a call from Justin saying they need me to take a job. This job isn’t like the other jobs I’ve taken. This one is a higher profile, which means I won’t be able to contact you through my phone.”

Her breath got caught at those words. He was going to have to leave? She wouldn’t be able to talk to him? How was she going to survive without him?

This was just like him leaving overseas. It brought back all the same memories because he had gone to places where he wouldn’t be able to talk to people. Maylee had barely survived then, and he was wanting her to do it again? Would she be able to survive this?

“I know it feels just like me getting deployed. I know,” he said as he wrapped his arms around her. “Everybody else is working right now and can’t take over. Justin made sure I was the last one to leave so I could stay with you, but now I need to go.”

Tears filled her eyes, and she nodded. This was his job, and he had to go. He loved his work that involved keeping people safe or finding them. It wasn’t right for her to ask him not to go on this job.

“Okay,” she whispered. “Do you know when you’ll be back?”

Everything in her was trying to keep it together for him. He needed to know she was going to be okay while he was working. When he left, she would be able to break down and cry, but right now she needed to be strong.

“I don’t know how long I’ll be. I’m sorry. I don’t know the whole situation besides what Justin told me about it being a high-profile case and not being able to have my regular phone.”

She nodded once again, not trusting herself to speak much. “Will Justin know?”

“Justin will have minimal contact with me. They don’t want me on my phone but looking at my surroundings. So, yes, he’ll have the number of the phone, but he won’t contact me unless it’s absolutely necessary.”

She gave him a big squeeze and pulled away. “Okay,” she whispered.

Daddy gave her a small smile. “I want you to stay at my house while I’m gone. You already have a set of keys. If you need to go back to your house, contact Justin, and he’ll help you. And if you want to take a few days off and be in my house, that’s okay but I understand if you do want to work. Just don’t exhaust yourself. ”

He knew she would have a hard time concentrating on anything. She had made it through his deployment. Had she been distracted a lot? Yes. But people had understood she was doing her best. Now they wouldn’t understand as much.

“Justin is going to check in on you every once in a while. Just to make sure that you’re okay. I have given him permission to give you lines and corner time if you’re not eating or aren’t taking care of yourself.”

Of course he would think about that in a time like this. She shouldn’t expect anything less.

“Now, I need to leave,” he said.

“Now? Not in the morning?”

“Yes, now. I love you.

“I love you, too.” Her voice was shaky as she spoke those words.

Daddy kissed her on the lips before grabbing his bag and leaving. She waited to hear the door close before she broke down into tears.
