Shit, a drinking game.
Any game.
I hate this kind of thing.
But everyone else is playing, so why the fuck not, right?
We get to take shots and get drunk together. Nothing wrong with that.
And since we’re playing something a little spicy, I may as well go all in and get these guys as wasted as I can… or get myself wasted. I’ve done some wild shit in my time.
“Okay.” Charli holds up her shot glass, already a little giggly after only three rounds. “Never have I ever sent a dick pic to anyone.”
“You don’t even have a dick!” Sawyer complains.
“Exactly.” Charli laughs. “It’s the perfect scenario, because I know at least one of you sickos has sent one.”
She eyes up the table while Sawyer frowns, muttering, “Rule breech,” before downing his shot.
Nix gasps, and Darian makes a face, glaring at his buddy. “I will never forgive you for that.”
The guys around the table start howling while I snicker and look at Sawyer. “You sent your best friend a picture of your penis?”
Sawyer starts laughing. “Hells yeah. It was epic. I’ve never seen him so embarrassed.”
“What happened?” Nix sits forward and looks at Darian, but Sawyer answers for him.
“He was showing off to this girl, trying to impress her with the lame-ass images he made me take of him slam-dunking the ball. So I sent him a pic and it popped up on his screen as a notification. She was so shocked that she clicked on it, and there it was—my impressive schlong.” Sawyer grins.
Charli bulges her eyes, then looks at Darian. “How come you never told me this?”
“Like I’m gonna tell anyone!” Darian sputters. “I couldn’t delete that shit fast enough.”
“So, wait…” Nix shakes her head and frowns at Sawyer. “You saw what Darian was doing and quickly took a dick pic?”
“Oh. No. I had it saved up. The guy wouldn’t believe me when I told him I have a glorious, impressively large dick, so I had to get photographic evidence, you know? And then I just bided my time, waiting for the opportune moment.”
Charli snorts and starts laughing. “Because you knew he’d be showing off something on his phone soon enough.”
Darian turns a glare on his sister.
“What?” She laughs even harder. “You know you do it. You can’t help yourself.”
Thoroughly put in his place, Darian slumps back in his chair and barks, “Next!”
It takes a minute for everyone to stop laughing, but eventually all eyes turn to Jimmy, who has yet to take a drink because… well, the guy is as straight as an arrow. His life has been so fucking sheltered he’s barely been allowed to live.
He also doesn’t drink because his parents are complete Nazis when it comes to fun, and, well… the few times he tried it with me, he really hated it. He keeps using the excuse that he’s not old enough, but the truth is, he hates the taste.
I glance at the shot of vodka in front of him and guarantee his palms are already sweating. He’s probably praying like crazy that no one will say anything super lame that he’s done before.
Can’t put the guy through it, so I stand up and quickly save his ass.
“Jimmy’s not a drinker. Let’s find something else for this guy.” I walk to the fridge and dig out a jar of pickles in the back. I have no idea what the expiration date is, but nothing smells funky when I take off the lid.
Draining some of the juice, I walk back to the table and plunk it in front of him.
He’s still looking dubious, so I down his shot glass for him, wincing at the burn of alcohol down my throat, then pour a little juice into his glass.
“I think I’d rather take the alcohol,” he mutters as I slap his shoulder.
“It’s your call, man.” Taking a seat, I spin my shot glass between my fingers, waiting for him to speak.
Oh man, he is hating this.
I almost feel sorry for him, but the guy needs to get out of his shell, so I don’t do any more bailing out. I just sit there, staring at him and willing his brain not to freeze.
“Uh…” He licks his lips, then swallows and manages to rasp, “Never have I ever read a smutty romance novel?” He words it like a question, which cracks me up, and then I laugh even harder when both Adonis and Enzo down their shots along with Nix and Charli.
The girls point at Enzo and Adonis, tipping their heads back in laughter, while the guys try to justify themselves.
“It was a dare!” Enzo shouts.
Adonis shrugs. “I was curious. I needed to know what the big deal was.”
“Holy shit!” Charli cackles. “Which books did you read?”
“I went for a classic.” Adonis puts on a serious voice, threading his fingers together. “Fifty Shades.”
Nix giggles, sharing a quick look with Charli as Enzo clears his throat.
“Twisted Love by Ana Huang, Face Off by Chelsea Curto, and Birthday Girl by Penelope Douglas.”
Charli’s mouth drops open. “Three? You read three? Because it was ‘just a dare’ right?” She uses air quotes, and Enzo starts getting all defensive while his skin turns tomato-red.
“They’re good books, okay.”
Nix giggles. “Are you currently reading another one?”
Enzo groans, dipping his head and muttering, “A Not So Meet Cute by Meghan Quinn.”
“Oooo, that’s a good one.” Charli nods. “I loved that one.”
Huh. I wouldn’t have pegged Charli for being into romance novels. She doesn’t strike me as the type. She’s so “one of the guys” that it’s hard to imagine her snuggled up with a sexy book.
But there you go. People can surprise you, I guess.
And they do.
Repeatedly.
As the night wears on, I discover that Ben did a presentation in class with his fly down, and Darian’s mom caught him getting frisky with a girl from his twelfth-grade chem class. It didn’t help that she’d cuffed him to the end of his bed.
“With pink fluffy cuffs.” Charli laughed out the words, then snorted and keeled over. She was so fucking drunk by the time we got to that one.
I’m pretty hammered too.
I’ve lived a good life, okay?
And when Sawyer stated that he’d never had sex in a department store and Jimmy mumbled that he’d never kissed more than one person on the same night and Nix said she’d never flirted with a teacher to get a better grade, I had to down those shots every time.
I also had to throw back shots when someone said they’d never sped away from a police car, someone else said they’d never been arrested, and I think it was Darian who claimed he’d never laughed at a funeral.
What? I got the giggles when my grandmother died because the idiot minister kept mispronouncing her name.
Admittedly, Siobhan isn’t the easiest, but most people see that name and know it’s Shi-vawn, not See-o-ban like the minister kept saying. I couldn’t help myself.
They made me take a double shot for that one, calling me a heartless bastard.
And now I’m so fucking wasted, I can barely see straight.
The room is definitely getting fuzzy, the laughter that much louder and crazier. The only person who’s probably still sober is Jimmy.
Has he even had one shot of pickle juice yet?
Shit, I need to get that guy out more this year.
I don’t give a fuck about his excuses anymore. I am making that boy leave his stuffy little apartment this school year. The guy is gonna learn how to party if it’s the last thing I achieve at Nolan U.
