Idon’t know what happened to me last night, but I think I might be entitled to compensation.

I’ve been having some very original experiences with these last few men, and if I had known that all it would take was a factory reset to get to the other side, I probably would have done it sooner.

My day was a product of something that had been weeks in the making.

Two weeks ago, I pulled up to a charity benefit at a massive ranch.

It was hosted by one of the richest families in Chicago.

Almost every inch of the land was packed either with games for the children, vendors selling ice cream and popcorn, or people just standing around and conversing.

Three different news stations were parked at the entrance, all hoping to cover the inaugural event.

I took a deep breath and prepared for what I knew was about to be a full day of overstimulation.

And unfortunately, once again, my position required me to be here.

As we pulled through the gate, I took off the shades that I was wearing and tucked them into my bag.

I was thankful that the theme required western attire, so I didn’t have to wear pumps while walking through dirt and stepping over hay.

My attire was a short-sleeved button-down, denim pants held up by a brown belt with a buckle just about as big as me, and cowboy boots with a matching hat.

“Madame, I’m so glad you made it.” The event coordinator, Maria, said as she walked up to me with extended arms and a bright smile.

“Thank you for the invitation,” I said as I looked around at all the space.

I really hoped these boots would be made for walking, because I felt I was going to be doing a lot of it.

The night wound on, and there were so many high-end pieces being auctioned off. Proceeds from paintings, sculptures, vacations, etc., would be donated to research aimed at finding a cure for Lupus. It was an amazing cause, and I even won a couple of pieces myself.

The event coordinator came back up to me with a man.

If I had to describe what he looked like, he looked like arrogance, dominance, leadership, and a bad decision all wrapped in a handsome ass man.

He was fine, beyond words. Beyond anything I could actually describe.

His mahogany-hued skin, deep expressive eyes, chiseled jaw, beard that glistened as he turned his head, and tall frame that towered over the other eventgoers made me swallow hard.

When they closed the distance between us, he looked down at me.

He gave me a smile that spiked my pulse before he even extended his hand toward me.

I placed my hand in his. He smelled amazing.

“It’s an honor to have you at our event. Maria said she sent the invitation; she never told me you accepted. Thank you for coming.”

“This is a great cause; I wouldn’t miss it for the world,” I said honestly.

“I appreciate it.” He said but didn’t let go of the grasp that he had on my hand immediately. Instead, he let his thumb brush against the back of my hand and then dropped it.

He gave Maria a gracious pat and then left the two of us standing there.

It wasn’t abnormal for him to know who I am. Everyone in the city should know me by name or face. But I didn’t have a single clue who the man in front of me was.

“Maria, I don’t believe I caught his name,” I said before she walked away.

She told me his name and told me that he was the CFO of the company hosting the party. The nephew of the richest man in the state. I nodded, and we parted ways.

I was gathering my team and telling them we were about to go when four men in black approached me. I didn’t even have time to summon Big A because before I could even turn around to look at him, he was pushing me backward and stepping in front of me.

The guy standing in front of the three raised his hand, “I’m sorry, Madame, I don’t mean to alarm you. We were coming to personally escort you to the boss; he said that he wanted to have a word with you before you left.”

Big A turned toward me and waited for my answer.

“Fine, my security will accompany me,” I said as I walked through the crowd with the five men, wondering what the hell the boss could want with me.

We made it through the ranch, which was beautifully crafted with polished brass hardware and wide aisles that made me want to become an equestrian.

We made it to this large wooden door, and the man who had been leading us tapped on it, then pushed it open.

We all waited outside before he came back out and opened the door to allow me and Big A to walk in.

I was expecting the eldest of the family to want to have a conversation; it never crossed my mind that the man I had shaken hands with would have summoned my company.

When I stepped inside, he greeted both me and A.

Then he began to speak. “If you don’t mind, Madame, what I would like to talk to you about is a private collaboration opportunity.”

I turned toward A, who was thoroughly amused, but I nodded to him. Giving him the okay to wait outside the door. We both stood in silence as A went toward the door and closed it behind him.

Now facing him, I waited for what he wanted with a raised eyebrow.

“How may I help you, Mr.?” I asked, calling him by his surname.

“Dinero.” He corrected me.

I didn’t acknowledge the correction. Just waited for him to actually tell me what he wanted.

He came around the desk and closed a little of the space between us. I raised my eyebrow in confusion, still waiting for what he wanted.

He didn’t leave me wondering for too long. He told me exactly what he wanted; he didn’t sugarcoat it or wrap it in a bow and hand it to me softly either.

“I think you’re very beautiful. I would love it if you would spend a night with me.” I was all for being as straightforward as the next person, but the way the words made me shake my head in disbelief and straighten up made me laugh after the initial shock wore off.

“I’m not really one to be lost for words. But I don’t know how to respond to that.” I answered honestly.

He came an inch closer; I could smell the freshness of his breath.

“The important thing is that you didn’t say no.”

“Yet. Thank you, I guess. But no thank you.” I started toward the door when he gently pulled my elbow.

“I don’t mean to be offensive. But I hope you can see the value in my honesty.

I don’t often see women who pique my interest; I don’t see things I just have to have.

But I feel like you are one of them. You’re beautiful.

From the warm hue of your skin, expressive eyes, button nose, full lips, down to the spread of your hips.

I want you. I haven’t been able to take my eyes off you since we crossed paths all day.

But I am an honest man. Honest with myself before I can be honest with anyone else.

A man like me has no time for a partner.

I don’t have a woman now, nor do I see anyone.

I don’t have time for long-term situations because I could be here today, in New Mexico tomorrow, in Canada the next, and in Brazil soon after.

I don’t have time to be a family man. The most that I can offer a woman is a night that she’ll never forget.

If you’ll allow me to, Madame, I want to give you that night.

A night that will have your pulse spiking and cheeks flushing every time you think about it.

A night that will allow you to surrender to someone other than your work schedule.

I want to be that person. I won’t insult you by saying, "Name your price." But if there is anything that your heart desires, please let me know, and it’s done.”

He had closed the space between us completely as he used his fingers to trace my jawline while he talked. Admittedly, my pulse spiked just as he claimed it would.

I took a step back and headed toward the door.

“Have a great day, Dinero,” I said, pulling open the door and immediately scanning the hallway for Big A. He was standing near the other guards, waiting with his hand resting securely on his Glock.

“You okay?” He questioned me as soon as I neared him.

“Perfect,” I said.

We got to the truck, and he opened the back door for me. I slid against the leather seats, letting out a grunt as I struggled to take off the boots that were not made for walking, and then rubbed the ball of my feet.

I laid my head against the headrest and closed my eyes to try to relax.

The strange “collaboration opportunity” came to my mind and made me chuckle.

I wasn’t offended in the least by what he asked.

What he described is exactly who I am at my core.

A person who didn’t care to settle down and preferred sexual experiences over long-term relationships.

My phone vibrated multiple times in my purse. Now that I was finally away from the event, I decided to check my messages.

The one that had just come in caught my eye first.

Unknown: Madame, I would love it if you took a couple of days to think about what I asked you.

I won’t make this weird and contact you again should you say no.

But please take some time to look over my contract.

You don’t have to make a decision today, and if I don’t hear back from you in the next week, I’ll take your silence as an answer.

I look forward to hearing from you soon.

My hands were shaky as I viewed his contract.

At first, I was just being nosy. I thought it was going to be a non-disclosure.

But this was a dominant-submissive contract.

Now my nosiness had turned into full-blown intrigue.

I had never been dominated, and the more of the clauses that I read, the more I felt the need to see what it was about.

This is some billionaire shit. I said in my head but laughed aloud at the thought, making Big A glance in the mirror at me. It was true, though; it seems like the more money a man had, the kinkier the shit he was into.
