Chapter 82
BLAIZE
Ilove you.
But the pain that she was in was my fault. Her being assaulted, again, was my fault, and all I could do was watch. There was blood dripping from her thighs and Everly’s hand was coated in it. Everly trusted two fingers inside Kadence, and I wanted to rip her fucking head off.
Her face contorted and her thighs shook. My stomach twisted knowing what was going through her head right now. The body was a tricky thing. Kadence didn’t want this, but her body couldn’t decipher the pleasure Everly forced onto her. I was going to kill this bitch.
“No!” she sobbed, trying to move her body, but Elijah firmly pressed her into Everly’s mouth. I pulled at my restraints. I couldn’t keep watching this and not help her. What kind of partner was I if I was fucking useless to save the woman I loved?
Kadence’s head fell back and she cried out, but Elijah forced her head down and hissed in her ear. “Look at her.” Kadence gasped as her eyes met mine. She sobbed when Everly stole pleasure from her. “Everly, that’s enough.”
Everly pulled back, retracting the knife from Kadence’s thigh as well with a grin plastered on her face. She grabbed Kadence’s jaw. “I see why Blaize likes you so much. Best pussy I sunk my teeth into.”
I pulled at my restraints. I would make sure each of them took their final breath before leaving with Kadence. I needed to get her out of here, but I knew it would take a miracle to save her.
Elijah stepped away from Kadence as she sobbed. “How did you do it?” I questioned, venom lacing my tongue. I know what I saw that night. His brains painted the wall before the building was blown to smithereens.
He smirked. “I killed my own brother.”
“Why?” I seethed. He was insane, but why wait five years to retaliate?
He eyed Kadence in a way that made my heart rate increase.
I needed to keep him distracted, but I was useless like this.
“Ethan hated me, but he was the golden child. I knew you would come after me when I took your hot little wife.” Elijah grabbed Kadence’s breasts and squeezed them, causing her to gasp.
“Ethan thought I wanted to change my ways when Ava gave him a sob story.”
“Are you fucking her?” I hissed.
He laughed. “Ava is my baby sister. You don’t see the family resemblance?” She couldn’t be. We eventually knew about Ethan, but the only other sibling was stillborn.
“I see that crazy runs in the family,” I deadpanned.
Everly came up to me and slapped me across the face before grabbing a fistful of my hair and jerking my head back.
“I’ll show you crazy, bitch.” She stabbed me in the side.
“Working for you was agony. I wanted to kill you, but we had to wait for the perfect moment. Fucking Hunter was easy. I thought I could use her, but who knew you would fall in love with the traumatized little whore.”
Kadence screamed, and my eyes shot up to her.
Elijah stabbed her in the side just below the spot Everly stabbed her.
My jaw clenched so hard I heard my teeth crack.
“He’s going to make her come, and then he’s going to kill her.
” Everly laughed as she made me watch Elijah touch Kadence.
“I get to watch you suffer before I put a bullet in your head.”
I clenched my fist. “I’m going to fucking kill you,” I seethed.
Elijah cut Kadence’s restraints, her frail, bloody body crumpling to the ground with a weak whimper.
He straddled her hips, attacking her like a crazed man, lodging the knife into her chest, abdomen, and sides.
His precision was precise so she wouldn’t die immediately.
I pulled at my restraints, trying my damndest to get free.
Elijah stood up, smirking at Kadence. She was taking painful gasps, her chest barely rising between breaths as crimson slowly pooled around her. “Hmm. Maybe I went too deep. You don’t look like you’re going to live much longer.”
“F-fuck yo-you.” A brat till the end, but she made me so fucking proud.
She grunted when he shoved two fingers inside her. “I’ll make sure you’re nice and fucked, princess. Blaize will have a front row seat while I fuck you this time.”
I pulled at the restraints more, feeling blood trickling from my wrist. It didn’t matter.
The only thing I wanted to do was to protect Kadence.
I already failed, but I could save her from him.
He wouldn’t hurt her anymore. My hips moved in the chair until I heard a crack and I went crashing to the ground, but I was free-ish.
Everly was on me, trying to stab me in the chest, but the bitch was too drunk on fury and vengeance. She was sloppy. I slammed my head against hers, and she screamed as I bucked my body and tossed her to the side. I was able to get one hand free and punch her before kicking her in the stomach.
I needed her to stop fighting.
While she was dazed, I focused on the asshole on top of Kadence. I staggered towards them, kicking Elijah off of her. Kadence was sobbing, but she was weak—dying. I needed to get her out of here.
Elijah had his shriveled cock out, and by the looks of it, his time in the fire burned a lot more than his face. “That’s why your ego is bruised.” He glared at me. “Such a weak little boy. What are you going to do? Cry? Killing me won't do anything. You’ll die. Just like your sister.”
He hissed in frustration, lunging for me. “Finish the bitch off, Ava.” Elijah and I struggled as we fell to the ground. He managed to straddle my hips and punch me. “Stupid cunt. This is my kingdom.”
“FBI!”
Elijah went to stab me again, but a gun fired and he groaned as his blood splattered on me.
I pushed him to the side as more bullets fired, and I heard Everly scream before she fell to the ground with a thud.
I scrambled to my knees, scurrying to Kadence awkwardly, but I didn’t care. She needed me. Fuck. I needed her.
“Hey…” I ran my hands up her face, and she winced before she coughed.
Blood splattered as she wheezed a painful breath.
“Look at me, princess. Come on. Let me see those pretty eyes.” Her eyes fluttered open as more tears streaked from mine.
“Look at those pretty eyes. Keep them open. Look at me, Kadence.”
“I-I…” She sucked in a sharp breath, her head falling to the side. “I…l-love y-you.
“Caden!” a deep voice bellowed. I looked over my shoulder to see an older man with salt and pepper hair and his gun drawn.
I knew his face because of his picture from the news article I read a few months back.
Her father. I pushed back my anger with this man for the time being.
My only concern was Kadence and getting her out alive.
“We need a damn ambulance. Why the hell did you run?”
“I-I’m sorry,” she muttered weakly. I didn’t know if she was apologizing to her father for running or apologizing for what she did now. Her head dropped to the side and her arm went limp.
Panic rose in my chest as I smacked her face lightly. “Hey, Kadence, don’t do this baby.” I pulled her lip body into my arms, more tears streaming down my cheeks. “Please don’t leave me, princess. I need you goddamnit.”
“She’s barely breathing!” her father yelled.
“Medic is two out.”
For the first time in a long time, I was scared again.
Hawke grabbed my arm, comforting me as we watched the medics race into the warehouse.
It felt like everything was moving in slow motion as I watched them work.
It was my fault she was like this. It was my fault she was assaulted again.
It was my fault that she was going to die.
I gripped Hawke, seeing everything I wanted with her flash through my mind.
Marriage.
Family.
Everything I lost before.
But now I was going to lose her, and she was going to take the final part of my heart when she took her last breath.
“We got a rhythm. She’s losing too much blood. We need to go now!”
Hawke pushed me up, and I grabbed Kadence’s hand until we got to the ambulance. I refused to leave her side. “Keep fighting, princess. Come back to me, please.”
