Chapter 17 #2
She couldn’t start her sentence good before my father stopped her in her tracks. “Nah baby, let the man speak. You wanted her with somebody that could hold his weight and that’s what he doing.” My father threw Arion a head nod to continue.
“She ain’t here to please nobody but me.
I ain’t saying hold off on giving advice or shit like that ‘cause we understand it takes a village. However, I’m saying respect her decisions when it comes to us.
I gave her my word that I’d protect and provide, her emotional, mental, and physical state is included in that.
Now… let’s blend this shit. The Greek’s are more than happy to have her, and I hope the Atkins feel the same ‘bout me.”
The room grew quiet after my husband pretty much laid down the ground rules for everyone moving forward.
I couldn’t help but blush at him taking charge.
My father was the kind of man that moved to the beat of his own drum and not what my Uncle Senior cooked up.
I was hoping he understood what Arion was trying to do.
“I see I made a man out of you. Always take care of home and run it the way that keeps you and yo’ family happy. I’m proud of you son. Me and yo’ mama respect it. Clover, I’m sure my wife has told you several times already but welcome to the family,” BG said raising his glass of cognac to me.
“Thank you, BG. She definitely tells me whenever she knows I’m near that she’s lucky to have another daughter. I’m more than grateful,” I commented.
“We’ve talked already, Arion, so it’s not much more for me to say. Just keep yo’ word and we’ll never clash. Once again, welcome,” my father chimed. I knew he wouldn’t say too much to begin with. He was a man of few words.
“I ‘preciate that. I’m gon’ hold it down, believe me on that. Wassup Ma? You got something on yo’ heart? Ms. Castina, how ‘bout you?” Arion inquired.
Ms. Linh shook her head with a smile while my mother wiped her tears saying, “Well, I think my daughter has met her match. She’s always been so hard but this…
this is a side of her I never witnessed.
She deserved happiness much like everyone else and I’m glad she found it in you.
From now on, call me Mama Cas. If we’re doing this blending thing, we’re gonna do it right.
Linh, we’re exchanging numbers before we leave as well.
I have nothing else to say, Arion. I’m just so happy for my baby,” my mother squealed.
Her being so happy only made everyone else smile.
I’d always had support from my family but this time it felt different.
I was married and carrying two babies at once.
They were showing me every reason I needed them.
And Arion… that man was showing me exactly why I busted my pussy open for him in Vegas.
The way that man said what the fuck needed to be said and nobody questioned him… yeah, as soon as my pregnant ass was upstairs and relaxed for the night, I was gon’ need him to slide up in the kitty and work me slowly. I never craved nobody the way I did him in this very moment.
When he laid eyes on me, my faucet turned on.
He was already sexy as hell but dominating the room, our marriage, and our home gave him an aura I couldn’t describe.
Leaning over, he placed his lips on mine and kissed me like he meant it in front of both our parents.
He wasn’t backing down from shit he said.
Standing on business wasn’t foreign to him.
The kiss was broken and I instantly turned into a fiend for more. With his lips at my ear, he whispered, “I’m gon’ fuck yo’ pretty ass to sleep when they get the hell up out of here.”
I returned the energy saying, “If you wasn’t leaving in the morning, I’d make you go all night. You know how much I love creaming on you baby.”
“Aye, cut all that shit out. I don’t know what’s being said, but I know it’s some nasty shit. Cedees, you turning red,” my father spoke throwing his shot back out of disgust.
I blushed even more as the room erupted with laughter. I was nervous as fuck with everyone finally meeting, but it turned out to be exactly what we needed. This was the smoothest meet and greet I’d ever been involved in.
“I’ll cancel plans and blow yo’ shit down. Don’t tease me,” he said kissing the side of my cheek. “My fault y’all, let’s finish eating or whatnot. My wife needs me,” Arion chimed.
“Mhmm,” Mama Linh commented.
I was content. For the first time since coming home from that wild night in Vegas, I was okay with where I was in life. I had a marriage I could love, a man that I grew to love, and babies made out of it. A smile graced my lips from ear to ear as I settled into this life.
Before I could enjoy it good, a female’s voice beamed through the house. “Arion. Where you at love bug?”
That fast my smile dropped as I looked to my husband for clarity. He seemed unbothered by it. Another woman was in our home, uninvited might I add, calling him by a name that wasn’t given to him by his parents. While no one seemed to be curious about who she was, I was breaking my neck to see.
She finally entered the room disregarding everyone in sight. When she ran straight to Arion, jumping in his arms, I tried to hit both of them in the mouth, but my body wouldn’t move fast enough. I didn’t play them type of games, and he knew it.
“God, I missed yo’ big headed tail. How you been big bro’?” she questioned. Big bro’? Oh shit. Mama Linh did say she had a daughter. Is this her? “And where’s Clover? I want to meet her.” Arion moved to the side so she could get a good look, and her hands flew over her mouth.
“Yeah, I left that part out for a reason. I wanted to surprise you. She got yo’ niece and nephew in there twin,” he said proudly.
Arion helped me to my feet, and I couldn’t help but softly giggle.
I towered over her. It was clear on who she got her height from.
She was just as tiny as their mother. “Clover, this is my twin, Aurora. Sis’, this is Mercedees aka Clover. ”
“Nice to meet you, Aurora,” I replied extending my hand.
Much like their mother, she waved me off, then opened her arms unto me saying, “Girl, I wish I would. You’re family now. Come here.” She was on her toes trying to bring me in. I snickered before bending down to meet her. We exchanged hugs before she joined their parents on the other sofa.
Her aura was warm, light, and easy. I could tell that she too lived a soft life. From the way her brothers were to the way BG was with Mama Linh, I just knew she got princess treatment from them.
Nodding, I took note and realized I gained so much from being with Arion.
He had plenty of people in his corner for support, and I loved every bit of it simply because they were now mine, and our children’s as well.
I couldn’t have asked for a better husband.
I was so used to being an Atkins not realizing being a Greek is just as solid.
