Chapter 20

Twenty

Miles

Duckie pressed me into the couch, climbing into my lap as he continued kissing me, his lips soft and rough against mine at the same time. His fingers slid into my hair, tugging hard enough to make me feel it as his tongue slid into my mouth, tangling with mine.

Duckie, I'd discovered, was a quick learner, and extremely adept at reading my body.

He'd figured out the best ways to get a reaction out of me in days, and he was well on his way to becoming an expert at making my body sing, despite the fact that we still hadn't moved past making out and impromptu frotting or handjobs.

I didn't know if Duckie wasn't interested in going further, or if he was planning to take his sweet time getting there. I was onboard either way, and happy to let him continue taking the lead since he was so damned good at it.

I sucked in a breath as Duckie pulled back, his lips hovering over mine as I panted softly, my whole body feeling like a live wire, or like a bomb about to go off.

How did he make me feel so much so quickly?

Sex had never felt like this before, and it was clear to me now why supes were so damned obsessed with the idea of a fated mate.

Duckie's hand slid under my shirt, his fingers trailing over my heated skin, from my belly to my chest to my right nipple that he pinched between his thumb and finger, squeezing hard enough to make me moan. I pushed into his grip, my cock hard as it rubbed against his ass.

"Duckie," I whined as he dropped his other hand to my chest as well, giving my left nipple the same treatment as he ducked his head to bite at my lower lip, gently rocking his hips and rubbing his ass over my erection through far too many layers of clothing.

"You feel so good under me, Miles," Duckie murmured against my lips, and I moaned.

"Please," I mumbled, pushing up into him again, and his lips curved against mine. Fuck, who would've thought my inexperienced mate would be so dominant?

"Please what?"

"Make me come."

Groaning, Duckie shifted lower, his lips brushing against my throat as he mouthed at my Adam's apple before gently biting down.

"Fuck!"

Duckie rocked his hips again, his own erection pressing against my abdomen as his ass moved against mine. I wished the clothes between us would disappear, but I was far too horny to ask him to stop so we could undress. Next time.

A ringtone shattered the building heat between us, and Duckie paused with his lips at the nape of my neck as we both tried to figure out whose phone it was.

"It's yours," I concluded after a long moment, and Duckie mumbled something before biting me, hard.

"Shit!" I exclaimed as I grabbed onto him, my fingers sinking into the soft skin of his waist.

The ringing phone fell into the background as Duckie sat back enough that he could pull my pants lower and free my leaking cock. He wrapped his palm around my length, giving me a few hard strokes. His dark gaze met mine, so full of lust it nearly sent me over the edge.

I slid my hand to his waistband, pushing it lower so I could touch him as well. He was longer than me, and a little thicker. The weight of him felt perfect in my hand, and I closed my fist around him, using his precum as lube.

It wasn't long before I was teetering at the edge, my whole body trembling with the need to come. Duckie brushed his lips over mine, his dark eyes peering into my soul as he dipped his head and pressed his teeth into my neck, biting down hard enough to push me over that edge.

I came with a shout of his name, spilling into his fist as flashes of pleasure raced through my body, making me shake and tremble in his hold.

His cum-slick hand replaced mine over his cock, and I watched through hazy eyes as he jerked himself off with my cum, his other hand pushing up my shirt as he orgasmed. His cum spilled over my stomach, coating me in his scent, marking me as his in the most primal way.

I'd never thought I was the type of guy who would enjoy something like this, but I was discovering all kinds of things about myself with Duckie that I'd never known before.

Duckie rested his head against mine, pressing our cheeks together as we caught our breath, and I wrapped my arms around him, holding him to me as my heartbeat slowly returned to normal.

We stayed like that for a few minutes, then went upstairs to shower and change into clean clothes.

Taking our time washing each other, we almost went for round two. But it was almost lunch time, and Mateo would be home soon. Since Rhiannon hadn't managed to find time to come over and do the silencing spell for my room yet, we'd been trying to limit ourselves to when Mateo wasn't home.

When we returned downstairs, I headed for the kitchen so I could start making us some lunch, while Duckie ducked into the living room to grab his phone before joining me.

"Oh, it was my mom," he said, and it took me a moment to realize he was referring to the call earlier.

"Call her back."

Nodding, Duckie pressed the phone to his ear as I started gathering the ingredients for a simple chicken salad.

Maybe I'd use the dressing Papa had made.

He whipped up big batches every few weeks and then stashed some in our and Micah's fridges when we weren't around.

He was like a vampire godmother in the kitchen.

He didn't eat human food, yet he enjoyed cooking it for the people he cared about, and we enjoyed eating what he made.

Duckie

"Hey, Duckie," Mom answered after the third ring, her warm voice making my lips curve in response. We'd talked a few times since my visit, but I'd been too caught up in my growing relationship with the twins to see her again.

"Hey, Mom. Sorry I missed your call. How are you?"

"I'm good, sweetheart. What about you? And Miles and Mateo?"

After our conversation that day, she hadn't tried to get me to leave the twins again, and I was grateful for that. I loved being with them, and I wasn't going to let the fear of something bad happening to them keep me from being happy with them. I would never let fear control my life again.

"We're good too. Happy," I said, and Miles shot me a smile. I watched as he chopped up some lettuce, his deft hands moving with a rhythm I found hypnotic, so much so that I missed what Mom had said.

"Sorry, could you repeat that?" I asked, making her laugh.

"Let me guess. You're with Miles," she said, her voice light with amusement, and I blushed.

"Um."

"It's all right, kiddo. I remember the early days with your dad. We could barely keep our hands off each other."

"Mom!" I protested, making her laugh again.

Judging by the twinkle in Miles's eyes, he found the situation as amusing as Mom. I narrowed my eyes at him, and he winked at me before turning his attention back to the meal prep.

"Was there something specific you wanted to talk about?" I asked in a desperate bid to get the conversation back on track and away from the topic of my parents' sex life.

"Yes, actually," Mom said, a bit of hesitation entering her voice. "I was thinking, if you're open to the idea, I would like to move to Mistvale."

Whatever I'd expected her to say, it wasn't that.

"You would?"

"Only if it's okay with you. The only reason I stayed in this town all these years was because I'd hoped you would come back. Now that I have you back, I have no reason to stay here. I'd like a fresh start, and I'd like to be closer to you. What do you think?"

I glanced at Miles to find him watching me, but he didn't offer a suggestion either way, leaving the decision up to me.

I had to admit—the idea of Mom living in Mistvale was one I could get onboard with. Not only would she be safer here, but I'd be able to visit her more often. She could be a part of the clan and have a community again.

"I think it's a great idea."

"Yeah?"

"Yes! Do you want me to find a place for you, or would you like to do it yourself?"

"It might be easier if you did it. I don't need a big place. A small apartment should suffice."

"You don't want something bigger?"

"There's no point when it'll be just me, Duckie. Maybe something with two bedrooms so you can stay over sometimes?"

"Okay. I'll let you know when I find something."

"Thank you, sweetheart. I'll let you get back to your mate. Tell Miles hi from me."

"I will. Bye, Mom. Love you."

"Love you too, sweetie."

I ended the call, then placed the phone on the counter before giving Miles a wide smile. "Mom wants to move to Mistvale."

"I heard. Do you think she'd like staying near the pack? The apartment building near the packland has a few available apartments. It's a fairly new building and has mostly supe residents."

"I suppose. Can we go see it?"

"Of course. How about tomorrow? I'll talk to Birch. He's the man—the elf, actually—who manages the place while the building owner is off traveling or whatever it is he does when he isn't in town."

"Is the owner also a supe?"

Miles nodded as he stirred the contents of the bowl, then added some dressing he'd told me was his Papa's special recipe. I knew from experience that it was delicious, and I was looking forward to having it again.

"He's a vampire. Calix Taylor. He owns the penthouse in the building, lives there when he's in town."

"I still can't get over how many supes live in this town."

"Yeah, Mistvale is a unique town."

"It sure is. I'm glad Mom decided to move here. It'll be nice to have her close."

"It will be good for her too. I'm guessing she hasn't had many people she could depend on since your father's death."

"Yeah. We'd recently moved to town when it happened, so my parents hadn't been part of a flock yet. I think my mom never joined one."

"Well, she'll have a big pack once she gets here. Our clan members won't let her be alone."

The thought made me smile, filling my heart with excitement and joy. Since I needed an outlet for these feelings, I slid up beside Miles and pulled him into a soft kiss. He hummed as he kissed me back, and I would've deepened the kiss if Snowball's excited bark hadn't alerted me to Mateo's arrival.

Reluctantly, I pulled back as Mateo's voice filtered through the living room.

"Everybody decent? I'm coming in!"

Miles rolled his eyes as Mateo shuffled into the kitchen with his palms over his eyes, and I laughed.

"We're decent, Mateo."

He lowered his hands while giving me a mischievous grin, his brown eyes sparkling with merriment.

"Just thought I'd make sure. So, what's for lunch?"

As Mateo grabbed plates and I grabbed some drinks for us, I imagined doing this at Mom's new place and sharing a meal with the three most important people in my life. I couldn't wait to do that.

I'd missed out on so much with my mom, and I was eager to make up for lost time. Having my mates with me would be an added bonus.
