Chapter 21
Helena padded back into the bedroom silently, a fresh cup of coffee in her hand.
Caitlin was asleep still, naked, beautiful and content.
They may have been equals throughout their day together, but once they’d got home again after dinner and dancing their dynamic had shifted.
Helena had deliberately left everything out when they’d eventually slept, the four silk ties tied to the four corners of the bed frame the most obvious but also the vibrator sat brazenly on the nightstand…
she wanted Caitlin to wake up and remember how gloriously, wonderfully submissive she’d become in the darkness of Helena’s bedroom last night.
She wondered for a moment whether to wake Caitlin up, but decided not to… she was on holiday, after all, and Helena’s opinion was firmly that Caitlin must be running a sleep deficit that she needed to correct. Instead, she went back through to the living room and sat on the couch, thinking.
Helena had woken up with an idea.
It was an idea that, she suspected, had been turning over in her subconscious ever since Miami…
remembering how Caitlin seemed to enjoy and respond to games in public, whether it was the secret gestures at drinks on the last night of the conference, or the game they’d played during the townhall meeting back in Houston where Caitlin slipped phrases into her panel discussion and adopted postures that only her and Helena knew the real meaning of.
What is the natural evolution of that? she wondered. How can I give Caitlin an experience that goes beyond in a way that she enjoyed?
Her mind went back to a game she’d played with her last boyfriend… one where he’d been the dominant and she’d had the enjoyment of being owned in public. It had been good. In fact, it had been very, very good.
Helena stood and walked over to the bedroom that she kept as her playroom, the one room she’d kept from Caitlin on their tour on that first night.
In the second drawer she found what she was looking for…
small, curved, achingly stylish and remote controlled.
Designed to be worn for long periods, she’d bought it a few months back with Juliana in mind to mixed results…
Juliana being Juliana had been a willing participant but had found it more amusing than erotic.
Very her. Caitlin, though, she was different.
Helena knew that Caitlin responded to hidden control well.
She was someone who didn’t just find public obedience arousing but also profound.
She walked back through and, after topping up her coffee, sat and waited for an unsuspecting Caitlin to emerge.

It was twenty minutes later that Caitlin finally did come out of the bedroom, yawning and wearing the t-shirt of Helena’s that somehow in the space of two days had become her default loungewear.
She went straight for the coffee with a smile over at Helena, took a long first sip with her eyes closed, then opened them and saw what was sat on the table in front of Helena.
She looked at it. Then at Helena. Then at it again.
“Is that what I think it is?”
“That depends on what you think it is, Gatinha.”
“I think it’s a…” Caitlin picked it up, turning it over in her hand, examining it. “A remote-control vibrator.”
“Full marks.”
Caitlin looked at Helena with an expression that was equal parts surprise, curiosity, and a look that Helena loved more and more each time…
excited, wondrous arousal was how she thought of it.
“Is somebody wearing this today, Minha Dona?” There was a slight flush that had come to Caitlin’s cheeks that deepened as she used Helena’s title…
Helena could see that her body was catching up faster than her mind to the reality of Sunday and how different it was likely to be to Saturday.
“They are.”
“You?”
Helena shook her head slowly. “No, Gatinha, not me.”
Caitlin pursed her lips, as much to hide her grin as anything. “I didn’t think it would be.”
“If you’d like to wear it, of course.”
“Here? Or somewhere public?”
“Somewhere very public. You can wear it walking around my city. Having coffee. Browsing in the shops. Looking at the sights. The remote will be in my pocket and, Gatinha, only I will know when I’m going to use it.
” Helena took a sip of her own coffee, keeping her voice as light and casual as she could.
“And you, Gatinha, will have to maintain your composure, no matter what I do to you.”
Caitlin looked at her for a long few moments. Helena could see her weighing it up… the thrill and the desire battling with the practical reality.
“How powerful is it?” Caitlin asked.
“I’ll be kind. Mostly.”
“Mostly?”
“Mostly.” Helena smiled. “But it can get very powerful if I want it to.”
Caitlin put the device down and took another sip of coffee, her eyes on Helena over the rim. “What if I can’t keep quiet?”
“Then you’d better learn to fast. S?o Paulo is a busy city, full of people.”
“And if I need you to stop?”
“Vermelho. Otherwise, I decide when it’s on, when it’s off and what level it’s at.”
“You’ve thought about this.”
“I’ve thought about nothing else since the idea came to me.”
Caitlin looked at the device again, then at Helena. The smile that spread across her face was the Caitlin that made Helena’s heart thump in her chest… brave, competitive, willing to take on any challenge. The strength to submit in living form.
“Fine,” Caitlin said. “But if I embarrass myself on a public street in your city, you’re never living it down.”
“If you embarrass yourself on a public street, Gatinha, it’ll be because I wanted you to.”
“That’s not reassuring.”
Helena smiled mischievously. “It’s not supposed to be.”

Once they were dressed, Caitlin went to the bathroom to insert the device and came back with slightly flushed cheeks.
“It’s… present,” she said. “I can feel it.”
“Colour?”
Caitlin smiled. “Verde.”
“Good.” Helena picked up the remote control. “Ready?”
“Wait, you haven’t even…”
With a mischievous grin, Helena tapped a button… the lowest setting, barely even a murmur, but the effect was immediate. Caitlin’s eyes widened and she inhaled sharply, before composing herself.
“Oh. That’s… oh. That’s ok. It’s subtle.”
“For now.” Helena turned it off. “That was level one.” She paused for dramatic effect. “Of ten.”
“Ten?”
“Ten.” Helena picked up her bag and her sunglasses. “Shall we go?”

At the bookshop Helena turned it on… level two this time. She watched Caitlin’s stride falter for half a step before she recovered, saw the slight widening of her eyes as she reached for a book and pretended to read the back cover.
“See anything you like?” Helena asked innocently, standing next to her.
“Several things.” Caitlin’s voice was impressively steady, but she couldn’t hide the brightness in her eyes nor the flush in her cheeks. “Though I’m finding it hard to concentrate.”
“Strange. It’s a very calm bookshop.”
Caitlin shot her a look that promised future retribution and Helena smiled and turned it off, tucking the remote control back in her bag. They browsed for a few more minutes, Caitlin’s composure fully restored, before heading on.
The day went on like that… Helena showing Caitlin more of her world in between what she liked to think of as strategic interventions from the device.
She kept it unpredictable, which was the point.
Long gaps of nothing, long enough for Caitlin to almost forget it was there, and then there would be a sudden pulse at level three while they were crossing a busy intersection that made Caitlin grab Helena’s arm and disguise a gasp as a cough.
She also kept Caitlin guessing as to where she was keeping the remote control, sometimes in her bag, sometimes in the pocket of her jeans, sometimes simply discreetly held in her hand…
always to increase the unpredictability.
At a market they wandered between stalls.
Helena turned it on to level four while Caitlin was examining a display of silver bracelets and was in conversation with the stallholder, trying her limited Portuguese while he tried his broken English with her.
Caitlin managed it beautifully… she somehow kept her composure, though Helena could see the effort it took.
It was thrilling to watch Caitlin’s hand shake slightly as she picked up a bracelet and held it to the light, knowing that the tremble was because of what she was doing to her, the dominance she had over her magnificent Gatinha.
“You’re cruel,” Caitlin muttered as they walked away, with the device off again.
“I’m attentive to your needs. I’m simply being a dutiful and caring Dona. There’s a difference.”
“Attentive would be noticing that I nearly dropped an old man’s bracelet. If you’d kept that thing on I’d have,” Caitlin lowered her voice to a whisper, “orgasmed in the middle of the market.”
“I noticed. You handled it perfectly. My composed, professional Gatinha.”
Caitlin glared at her, but the glare was undermined by the flush in her cheeks and the brightness of her eyes, not to mention the way she was walking slightly closer to Helena than necessary, as if proximity were an anchor.
They stopped for lunch at a restaurant that Helena loved, a small place with outdoor tables. She ordered feijoada for them both, Caitlin’s first time, along with cold beers and while they sat in the dappled shade Helena left the device off to give Caitlin some time to recover.
“How are you doing?” Helena asked, genuinely checking in beneath the playfulness.
“I’m doing…” Caitlin took a long drink of her beer. “I’m doing things I’ve never done before. Walking around a foreign city with a vibrator inside me and my beautiful dominant’s thumb on the button.” She grinned. “Tell a year ago me that I’d be doing this, I’m not sure she’d have believed you…”
“You like the way your life has changed?”
