Epilogue

AARON

“And you have enough diapers?” I ask Buckle, who laughs at my endless questions.

“Yes, I have enough diapers and food and everything else they need. I have watched them before.” Buckle takes Willow from Pax’s arms.

“She’s too cute to leave behind,” Pax pouts.

Buckle sighs. “You two seriously need a vacation. You’ve earned it. Go enjoy time alone. Make Willow a sibling if nothing else.” He smirks and Pax goes red like he always does when his best friend mentions anything remotely related to sex.

“Bye bye, Willow,” Pax says with a baby voice. He’s so damn cute with our daughter.

Willow babbles making slobbery bubbles drip from her chin. Buckle blanches, but wipes her clean with the burp cloth.

“You’re going to make someone a very lucky Alpha one day,” I say to the man.

No lie, he’s come in handy more than once.

He sees our fatigue and offers to watch Willow before we even realize what’s going on.

He’s such an asset and I’m sad he still hasn’t found his Fated.

I know they’re out there. He’s even going to speed dating events and other mixers. He’s still young, though. We all are.

“Come on, Aaron. Let’s hit the road since you insist on driving again,” Pax says as he fans himself. “If we leave on time like we’re supposed to, we’ll make it to the cabin before I go into Heat again.”

“Go. Go,” Buckle laughs. “Everything is going to be fine. I got it. I’ll teach her how to do an oil change and burp her ABCs.”

“Please don’t,” Pax laughs.

“Don’t worry about her.”

I grab Pax’s hand, and we rush to the car. It takes us days to get to Winter Wonderland Wilderness Lodge. We each take turns driving to break up the time. And like before, we had lots of truck stop quickies.

I’m not surprised Branson is back at the front desk, this time with a smile on his face. “Welcome back. Glad we didn’t scare you off last time.”

“Last time we found each other. This time, we plan to expand our family.” I say.

Branson goes red.

“He didn’t need to know that,” Pax says under his breath.

“He knows you were in Heat last time too—”

Pax runs pink.

“Here are your keys. Number 22. Please enjoy your stay.” Branson leans in. “And this year I promise there aren’t any double-bookings.”

The End.

I hope you enjoyed Pax and Aaron’s story.
