Chapter 34

Icouldn”t help but stare into Orlando”s piercing green eyes as he leaned in to kiss me. I knew I should”ve stopped him, but the second his lips found mine, I was powerless to do anything but lose myself in it.

”Orlando,” I whispered against his mouth, feeling a dizzying mixture of fear and excitement.

His hand slid up my side, and I shivered at his touch, knowing that what we were doing was dangerous but unable to pull away.

My arms reached out and wrapped around his neck, drawing him closer as I slung a leg over his lap and straddled him. We sat on the edge of my bed, our bodies pressed together, and I could feel the heat radiating off him. The fire burning between us threatened to consume everything in its path.

”Fuck, Harper,” he groaned as our mouths moved together in a dance of passion.

The tension between us was electric, a storm brewing beneath our skin and threatening to break free. Orlando”s arms snaked around my lower back and pulled me close, his hard length pressing against my heated centre as he drew me in as close as he could get me. It was as if we were two magnets drawn together by an invisible force, unable to resist the pull that bound us together.

”Orlando,” I whispered, my voice trembling with desire.

The world seemed to tilt on its axis as Orlando suddenly leaned back, breaking the sweet connection of our lips. His warm breath fanned across my face as he whispered ”Sorry” and gently pressed his forehead against mine, piercing green eyes searching for something within me.

”Hey,” I murmured, fingertips tracing the curve of his jaw, ”don”t be sorry.” My chest ached with a fierce longing that demanded more. ”And don”t stop.” Without hesitation, I leaned in to capture his lips once more in a searing kiss that ignited every nerve and set my heart racing.

His strong hands gripped my waist like a lifeline. The emerald depths of his eyes flickered with a question, one that we both knew the answer to but were too afraid to voice.

”Please,” I gasped between feverish kisses, craving the unspoken bond that threatened to shatter the walls I built around myself.

As if awakened by the desperate plea in my voice, Orlando sprang into action, standing up and hoisting me onto him with an urgency that left me breathless. I wrapped my legs around his waist, delighting in the feel of his hard muscles beneath my thighs. He spun us around and leaned down towards my bed, never once breaking the heated kiss we shared.

Our bodies crashed down onto the soft sheets, our limbs tangled together like vines clinging to a trellis. The intoxicating scent of Orlando filled my senses, stoking the inferno that raged within me. It was all-consuming, terrifyingly powerful, and yet, it felt like coming home.

The intensity of Orlando”s green eyes pierced deep into my soul. My heart thundered in my chest, a desperate plea for more - for everything he held back.

”Harper,” he whispered, breaking our breathless kiss. ”If I don”t stop now, I don”t think I”ll be able to stop at all.”

His words hung heavy in the air like fog, obscuring the line between right and wrong. It didn”t matter. The only thing that mattered was the magnetic pull between us, the undeniable force that threatened to consume us both.

”Nobody asked you to stop,” I replied, voice laced with a lustful haze. I cupped his face in my hands, drawing his mouth back to mine with fervent need. Our lips met in a fiery dance of passion, each touch igniting a spark that burned hotter and brighter than anything I”d ever known.

”Fuck, Harper,” he groaned against my lips, the hunger in his voice sending shivers down my spine. ”You”re going to be the death of me.”

”Then let it be a glorious death,” I murmured, fingertips tracing the curve of his jaw, and the sinewy muscles of his neck. I wanted him, needed him in a way that defied reason and logic. It was raw, primal, and utterly irresistible.

”God help me,” Orlando breathed, surrendering to the desire that coursed through our veins like wildfire. He pressed his body against mine, leaving no inch of space untouched by the heat of his skin. We were powerless to resist, bound together by the unbreakable chain of fate that had ensnared us from the very beginning.

”Harper, we can”t... if we bond, there”s no going back. I don”t think you truly understand what that means.”

”Enlighten me,” I challenged, my chest heaving as I fought to catch my breath.

”Once we”re bonded, it”s for life. We”ll feel this... intensity for each other forever, Harper. There”s no undoing it.” His words hung heavy in the air between us, but the weight of them felt like nothing compared to the crushing force of the longing that pulsed through my veins.

”Are you saying that”s a bad thing?” I questioned, raising an eyebrow. ”All I want is someone to love me, Orlando. And if this is how it feels, I”m not afraid.”

With those words, something inside him seemed to snap. His eyes darkened, and the restraint he”d been clinging to crumbled. He crushed his lips against mine, kissing me with a hunger I didn”t know he was holding back. Suddenly, our bodies were pressed even closer together, his hardness grinding into my pyjama-covered centre.

”Harper,” he growled, his voice laced with desperation. ”You have no idea what you do to me.”

”Show me,” I panted, my heart pounding in my chest as I wrapped my legs around him. ”I want to feel everything.”

As our mouths continued their frantic battle for dominance, Orlando”s hands roamed over every inch of my body. His touch was intoxicating, igniting a blaze that threatened to consume us both. But instead of fearing the flames, I welcomed them.
