Chapter Thirty-One

Back in her Moscow apartment and once again in her Moscow body, Missy got dressed in the one power outfit which Yury had bought for her during one of their shopping days together.

This was a formal, tailored suit in dark blue which symbolized confidence, professionalism and authority.

After leaving Mike and teleporting back to Moscow, she was determined to confront Nikolai.

Lisa had confirmed that he had replied to the text she had sent, agreeing she could come to his office at four p.m. She pulled her hair back, rolling it into a stylish chignon which went with her outfit.

Then she applied her makeup to look polished and professional as well.

Although it was understated Missy still looked very attractive, nonetheless.

She managed to exit her apartment building around noon without being noticed by any paparazzi.

They were not aware of her schedule for that day.

She had arranged for a ride share car using the Yandex Go app on her phone and it was waiting there when she came outside.

Soon she was on her way to her office building.

Since they had made an office for her on the floor where Boris-Apteka was located, Missy went up there first to check that out.

As this was her first time doing this, she was greeted by a number of the company’s employees.

Gavriil proudly introduced her as he showed her all around.

After that, he left her alone at her office desk.

She connected her laptop and logged into their network.

Yeah, she was fully established in her new role now.

She spent some time reviewing various documents, including the contracts which Gavriil had just negotiated with those German companies. She had the IT guy come in and explain how she could access the company network remotely, setting her up with appropriate passwords, etc.

Then, when the time approached for her meeting with Nikolai, she took the elevator to his floor and made her way over to his office. She found he was waiting there and he was alone. When he spotted her, he gestured for her to enter.

Missy went in and closed his office door. She said, “I think it best that we have some privacy for this meeting, Nikolai. This shouldn’t take long.”

Nikolai smiled and said, “We won’t be disturbed. I anticipated you might want that.” He had stood up and after watching her take a seat in one of the comfortable chairs in front of his desk, he sat back down. Then he said, “How can I be of service, Miss Kabachnik.”

“Oh, we’re alone now so please call me Missy. We are surely on a first name basis after all of our previous meetings, right?” Missy smiled at him and momentarily raised one of her eyebrows.

“All right … Missy. Why have you asked for this meeting?” Nikolai was clearly not comfortable with her being there.

“I wanted to make you aware that I know you were lying to me when you claimed you had nothing to do with Yury’s death,” explained Missy. “You paid Stepan Valnovitch one million euros to arrange for that.”

Nikolai was quick to react, protesting, “You cannot prove that! Whoever this Stepan Valnovitch person might be, he clearly is lying to you. I was told that our police have determined that Yury was killed by Chinese conspirators.”

“No, they may have closed the case but there really was no such determination,” declared Missy.

“The investigation of those car bombings merely went nowhere. However, Stepan and his two accomplices were in Beijing that day and, according to my resources, they were the ones responsible. You already know about the resources which I have, right?”

Nikolai stared at her with pure hatred in his eyes. “Your resources have nothing and, as I already stated, Stepan is lying. Nothing he says will be believed by the police.”

Missy nodded and said, “Since you’re saying that about Stepan, it is obvious that you do know him.

My resources were obviously correct. I have not yet confronted him but when I do?

I will tell him that you have identified him for me.

That will be a lie, of course, but unlike you …

I can be very convincing when I tell a lie.

” Missy now brought gold speckles into her eyes and gave him an evil smile.

When the implication of her threat registered, Nikolai realized the danger which he was facing. Yeah, he knew Stepan and he knew that bastard would believe this bitch. Then, Stepan would come after him to prevent being exposed to the authorities.

Missy could sense exactly what Nikolai was thinking and she said, “How will Stepan decide to silence you, Nikolai? Will it be with a bomb under your car? Or, will he perhaps decide to kidnap you so he can bring you somewhere and torture you for betraying him?”

“Why are you accusing me and threatening me like this?” whined Nikolai. He was fully seeing it all now.

“Ahh, well, my resources have evidence that shows you withdrawing the exact amount for each of the payments which Stepan received. I will show him that evidence to support the lies which I will be telling him.” Missy chuckled.

“He failed to kill me over in Beijing and he will fail to kill me should he even try to do so now. No, I think he will come after you instead.”

Gradually, the horror of his predicament was becoming more and more obvious.

While he had no idea what her resources might be, he knew she had somehow been able to document his earlier embezzlements from Yury’s accounts.

He believed her when she claimed she could show he had made those payment withdrawals and he knew Stepan would believe her as well.

Missy stood up and said, “I’ll leave you to decide how you want to deal with this situation.

I want to warn you, however, that should you decide to flee?

My resources will find you. There will be no escape.

I will keep Stepan informed of your whereabouts.

He will always know where you are and where you will be.

You see … one of the lies I will be telling him is that in exchange for my keeping silent, he will need to silence you.

I think he will believe that lie, don’t you?

” Missy now chuckled as she watched all the color drain from Nikolai’s face. He was terrified.

After standing up, Missy said, “You never should have had Yury killed and since I am pretty sure it was your intent that I be killed along with him, I have no regret for whatever your fate might be now.” She turned and after opening his office door, she walked out of his office without looking back.

When Gavriil arrived at her apartment building to bring her to the Propaganda, Missy met him down in the lobby.

She had changed into a shimmery silver gown which was flattering for her voluptuous figure while only hinting at rather than revealing her female assets.

The see-through tulle dress design had a lot of ruffles.

Her panties and pushup bra were dark gray and somewhat visible underneath.

She had worn this outfit one time with Yury in Cyprus but the Defense Minister had not seen her dressed this way as yet.

She applied her make-up to give herself a smokey appearance with her eyes glistening and sparkling from some dark eyeshadow and mascara.

For jewelry, she had diamonds for her earrings, bracelets, necklace and belly button ring along with her tiara.

Her hair was in a very sophisticated high updo hairstyle.

She knew this was quite a transformation from how she had looked in the office that afternoon.

When Gavriil spotted her, it took his breath away. While he had seen several glamourous photos of her from when she had gone clubbing with Yury, seeing her like this in person was overwhelming. He said, “Wow! You look amazing tonight, Missy!”

There were some paparazzi photographers there and they quickly began snapping photos and demanded to know where they were going.

They also asked if she was now dating but Missy assured them that she was not.

She said, “I’m merely going to dinner tonight at the Propaganda with some important people.

The time for mourning my poor Yury’s sad demise is over.

Life must go on and I’m a businesswoman now rather than a mistress. ”

As she strutted away from them on her four-inch heels, silver to match her dress, she put some added sway in her hip movements knowing how she was being filmed. She knew they would follow her to the Propaganda and that the Defense Minister would enjoy being seen by them at that place with her.

Sergey was already there when she and Gavriil arrived and he indeed was very pleased to both see her and to be seen with her once again.

He ogled her as they proceeded over to one of the large tables where several business associates had already gathered.

Boris-Apteka was paying for the meal and all the drinks which would come afterwards.

Missy was the only female and that was not a surprise. She took her seat with Gavriil on her left and Sergey on her right. Soon, they were drinking vodka while waiting for their meal to be brought out.

Missy let the others do all the toasting, with several of those made to Yury.

She did toss back every drink, downing each of them in one gulp.

Her ability to do this without becoming inebriated was already legend and she did not disappoint any of the men.

They could only marvel at how she could manage that.

The food was served and the conversation during their meal soon became very relaxed.

Missy knew several of these men from her times there with Yury and she knew how to joke with them while maintaining her femininity.

Her manner invited the others to be open while at the same time she managed to discourage them from saying anything inappropriate.

Even when the meal was finished and the drinking afterwards led to more animated and boisterous behavior, they all showed Missy only the greatest amount of respect.

The Defense Minister was pleased to learn about all the contracts which Boris-Apteka had recently gotten and he assured Gavriil and Missy that indeed the military would be placing their orders with their company as its prime source.

Although he joked about those other times when he’d enjoyed watching her throw darts and dance on the table, he agreed with her that this night was not a night for her to do any of that.

When it was finally time to say goodnight, Missy had Gavriil bring her back to her apartment building.

She insisted that he not come up and merely climb back inside his limo after he had opened the door and helped her step out.

She could sense how desperately he wished their relationship could be more but she reminded him how things between them would always remain completely platonic.

Then she went inside and took the elevator up to her apartment. Since she had no new individuals whom she needed to visit in her spirit form, she merely got undressed and went to bed. She then slept soundly for six hours.

Missy got up and after taking a shower, she got dressed in a simple dress which was modest enough. She managed to exit her apartment building without being noticed and made her way to a nearby breakfast place. Then, she used the Yandex Go app to obtain a ride to where Stepan was living.

Upon hopping out, she could sense that Stepan was home and alone.

She released her ride share driver and then went into the large apartment building and made her way to Stepan’s door.

Although the building did have security, she had no difficulty bypassing that to gain entry using her telekinesis ability on the exterior door locks.

When she knocked on Stepan’s door, she sensed him coming to check who was there.

She knew he was looking through the door peephole but she kept herself out of view and knocked again.

Stepan finally opened the door and was very surprised to find her standing there.

There was no chain on the door and when Missy moved forward, he reluctantly backed up and let her enter.

“While I can see that you are surprised to find me here, Stepan, I can also see that you do recognize who I am,” explained Missy. “I’m sure that’s why you’ve allowed me to enter your apartment, right?”

Stepan hadn’t even considered not letting her come in due to his surprise at finding her out there. He said, “You are very famous, Miss Kabachnik. Why are you here? What possible reason could you have for knocking on my door?”
