Chapter 29 Mira
Mira
Iwas floating. Everything about tonight had been perfect. He had been perfect. The pain, the bliss, the wonderful subspace he'd sent me to.
Something about tonight had been different, and I couldn't put my finger on it.
There was a deeper connection, an intimacy I hadn't felt before—at least on this level.
That was one of the reasons that had led me to write the email that was sitting on my laptop, ticking like a time bomb, set to go off in an hour.
I had feelings for the man who was fucking me to oblivion, and that was against the rules.
Not only that but right now, the face I imagined, who had my legs pinned in the crook of his arm, pushed over my shoulder, pounding into me, was none other than Mr. Sebastian Reid himself.
The man who, hours ago, had showed up to my apartment unannounced, with my favorite food from my favorite bakery and asked me out again.
When I said no, he had still gone over my work notes, and tucked me in on the coach when I'd dozed off.
In my defense, I'd been up all night trying to prevent Stan from doing what he had threatened, but he'd already laid the groundwork, and I couldn't break in.
If I could get ahead of him, I could tell Sebastian what had happened in the elevator Friday, but I had to protect Micah by all means.
Now I was hearing, not my master’s deep, growly tone, but Sebastian's in my ear as I was moments from falling into orgasmic bliss.
"Come, Mira. Come for me."
I blinked behind the blind fold, his voice so familiar, telling myself my mind was playing tricks on me. His hot breath on my neck grounded me as he pinched my clit and thrust in again, more frantic this time.
"God, Mira.”
I hadn't been imagining it. No. No.
My mind raced but I managed to find my words. "Red."
"Fuck." He immediately stopped, like someone had thrown ice water on us, and tears flowed down my cheeks. I couldn't stop them. It couldn't be. I had to be mistaken.
He wouldn't do that.
Would he?
He gently lowered my legs onto the bed as I pulled at my restraints above my head. He didn't make a sound as he reached up and uncuffed me like he had been doing for weeks.
Fucking weeks.
As soon as my hands were free, they moved up and ripped off the blindfold, not waiting for him to object. It wouldn't mattered anyway.
I gasped. Sebastian Reid stood in front of me, fully naked, looking like he'd just gotten his heart ripped out.
He was gorgeous and if I wasn’t so pissed, betrayed, so... I didn't even know how the hell I was suppose to feel right now but I couldn't breath and my lord, his beautiful cock, even at half mast—
He quickly walked over to the table and grabbed the glass of water and moved toward me. "Breathe,” he said in that low tone of his.
I took the glass and watched as his shoulders relaxed a tad before I threw the glass at the wall. "Fuck you." I tugged at the top sheet on the bed to cover my nakedness and held my hand between us. "Stay away."
"I can explain."
"Really?" I sobbed. "I wouldn't go out with you, so you did this?" I waved my hand around the room.
He cocked his head. "We've been doing this for a few months, if memory serves me right."
I headed to the door and pushed the button on the wall. Immediately a warden barged in and I watched Sebastian hang his head. The warden looked me directly in the eye. "You okay, Miss?"
"I want to go home."
He glared at Sebastian, then back to me. “Yes, Miss.”
I wiped the tears on the edge of the sheet. I didn't bother waiting for him and stepped into the hallway smack dab into Ethan Cross.
He reached out and steadied me. "Mi..."
I glanced up and down the hall not knowing where I was. Sebastian groaned behind us. While I didn't want to, I turned to him. At some point he'd pulled on leather pants. The warden stepped between us.
Ethan shook his head. "I'll be damned."
I glanced up at him and blushed knowing I'd never be able to set foot in Sentinel Tech again. I was going to have to get a new job.
"We need to clear the hall," the warden said quietly.
Ethan's fingers gently brushed my arm. "Mira, let me walk you back to the dressing room." He turned to Mitch. "Can you let Mistress Vivienne know?"
Warden Mitch gave a nod, turned on his heel, and left.
Ethan stepped around me and turned to Sebastian. "I will deal with you later." He gently placed the tips of his fingers on the small of my back and the lights in the hall flashed on and off. "We've got to go."
He moved with urgency and I realized that I'd never really been anywhere other than the main hall.
"I didn't know you and Sebastian were a thing."
I gave a weak scoff. “Neither did I."
He pushed me through a door and moved through it himself but turned toward the wall.
Milly and Candy met us at the door. Milly let me away, and Candy took Ethan somewhere but everything happened so fast, I wasn't sure which way was up.
I wiped the tears again. "Listen, you guys have been great. I don't need a shower or a bath or whatever. Please just give me my things and let me go home."
"You heard her." I heard Mistress Vivienne’s fan snap against her hand before I saw her sweep into the room in one of her ball gowns. Milly disappeared and Mistress lifted my chin with the tip of her fan.
I sniffled. "Did you know he was my boss?"
Her composure broke for a fraction of a second before she forced her mask back on and pursed her lips.
“I did not my child. I am so sorry. Milly will help you get dressed and the car is ready to take you home.” She pulled out a cotton handkerchief from the bodice of her dress and handed it to me. "I will have someone check on you soon"
I wanted to say no, but this wasn't her fault, so I just nodded. Five minutes later, I was in the back of the town car headed home with my world burning down around me.
I don't remember the drive, but the back door opening started me. I'd cried the whole way home. Never had I felt so betrayed.
A hand gripped mine and pulled me out of the car. I didn't fight it. There was no fight in me.
"Come here," Micah said, pulling me to him.
"What are you doing here?"
He tipped my chin so our gazes met. "I'm your everything-goes-south contact, remember."
My lip quivered, my body shook as I wrapped my arms around his neck and bawled. He picked me up in a bridal carry and took me to my apartment, into my bathroom. Noah sat on the edge of the tub lighting a few candles.
"I'll get out of your way. I'll make sure you have snacks set up." Noah kissed Micah on the cheek before leaving.
"I don't need this.” I wave around, sniffling.
He stepped up to me and took my face in his hands. "Some things about kink are non-negotiable and aftercare is one of them."
I shoved him.
"Did he call you?"
Micah raised his hands in surrender. "Mistress called. Said you had a bad session and you needed your friends. That's all the info I got."
Well, I felt stupid. I went to take my T-shirt off and my legs started to give way. Micah caught me before I hit the floor and set me on the edge of the tub before crouching down. "Can I help?"
I nodded.
"Mira, sweetheart, I need you to say the words." He brushed the hair out of my face.
"Yes."
He smiled and turned off the water before he helped me undress and get situated in the water.
I sniffled. "Which one of you gets the bath?"
He laughed as he grabbed my lotion and paid close attention to the marks on my wrists.
Chuckling, he massaged circles into my wrists. "Both"
I laid my head on the back of the tub and let my friend take care of me while I came to grips that the two men that had been pulling me in two different directions was not only the same man but he'd been playing me the whole time.
