MR.JEON 💜📖 Part 22 The Night He Didn't Want to Let Her Go

The car moved steadily through the quiet streets, the hum of the engine filling the silence between them. Streetlights flashed across the windshield one after another, briefly illuminating their faces before disappearing again into the night.

Y/N shifted slightly in her seat.

Her fingers twisted together in her lap as if trying to release the nervous energy building inside her.

For several minutes she stayed quiet, glancing at Jungkook and then quickly looking away again.

Finally, she spoke.

Y/N (awkward, hesitant): Did your PA... or Mr. Han—do you think they know?

Jungkook briefly glanced at her before returning his attention to the road.

A small, almost amused smile tugged at the corner of his lips.

Jungkook (calm): Let them know you're mine.

She inhaled sharply and immediately shook her head.

Y/N: No—no. That would be... awkward.

I still have to see them every day.

She let out a nervous breath and rubbed her forehead.

Jungkook didn't even hesitate.

Jungkook (dead serious): Then I'll fire them.

Her head snapped toward him instantly.

Y/N: Jungkook—NO!

He smirked slightly at her reaction.

Y/N: I just want things to be normal.

I want Hana to talk to me like before.

Mr. Han too.

Her voice softened a little.

Y/N: Let's just... keep this to ourselves for now.

At least at work.

The car slowed as they approached a traffic signal. The red light reflected faintly on the dashboard.

Jungkook thought for a moment before nodding once.

Jungkook: Okay.

A short pause followed.

Then his voice softened.

Jungkook: Anything for you, babe.

Y/N leaned back into her seat, finally breathing out.

The tension that had followed them all evening slowly faded.

A comfortable silence settled between them.

Not heavy.

Not tense.

Just... new.

When the car finally turned onto her street, Y/N glanced at him again.

For the first time that night—

She smiled without fear.

The car slowed gently and stopped in front of her house.

For a moment, neither of them moved.

Jungkook's hands rested on the steering wheel, but his eyes were on her.

Jungkook (quiet, reluctant): Do you really want to go?

She smiled softly.

Y/N: I have to, Jungkook. My mom will be waiting for me.

She reached for the door handle.

Then his voice stopped her.

Jungkook: Y/N.

Her hand paused.

She turned back toward him—

And before she could say anything, he leaned forward and kissed her.

It was sudden.

Her eyes widened in surprise as his lips met hers, warm and unguarded.

The kiss lasted only a few seconds.

But it was enough to steal her breath.

When he pulled back, he didn't move far.

Their foreheads nearly touched.

He looked straight into her eyes.

Like he didn't want the moment to end.

Like he didn't want to let her go.

She swallowed softly.

Y/N (soft, steady): Jungkook... I really have to go.

He nodded slowly.

A faint sadness crossed his face.

She opened the door and was about to step out—

When she felt it.

His fingers lightly caught the corner of her dress.

She exhaled in amusement and turned back to him again.

Y/N: What now?

Jungkook looked at her expectantly.

Jungkook: You didn't say I love you.

She laughed quietly.

Then her expression softened.

Y/N (gentle): I love you.

The tension in his shoulders eased instantly.

A small, genuine smile appeared on his face.

Jungkook: Tomorrow we have a lot of work at the office.

Come early, okay?

She chuckled.

Y/N: I will.

She stepped out of the car and closed the door.

Before walking away, she leaned down slightly toward the window.

Y/N: Go now.

Jungkook shook his head.

Jungkook: No. You go first.

His voice softened again.

Jungkook: Get inside. Go to your room.

Text me.

A faint smile tugged at his lips.

Jungkook: Then I'll leave.

Y/N stood there for a moment, watching him through the window.

Her heart felt lighter than it had in years.

Then she turned and walked toward the house.

But she knew one thing for certain.

Tonight—

Everything had changed.

After all the chaos, pain, and misunderstandings... our two stubborn hearts finally got a little peaceful moment together ????

Sometimes love doesn't need big dramatic scenes — sometimes it's just a quiet car ride, a small kiss, and someone refusing to leave until you're safely home.
