Chapter 26 #2

“That makes it marginally better.” She scrunches her two fingers together. “Marginally.”

Leaning in, I kiss her cheek, lingering with my lips, enjoying the slight hitch in her breath. I whisper against her skin, “Go up those stairs. I’ll get us water. I’m the second door on the right.”

“Okay,” she purrs, then climbs the stairs, and my eyes are glued to her ass in her tight leather work skirt.

Fuck me, her body is sexy as hell.

I harden instantly under my pants, and I have to remind myself she is exhausted, but damn, the soft sway of her hips and her long, toned legs are calling to me.

I cup and squeeze my dick.

Down, boy.

I’ve been hard since she sat next to me on the dock. No, that’s a lie. I’ve been hard since this past weekend. Now that I’ve had a taste, my body remembers exactly what it was like being with Maddie and what it’s been missing for all these years.

It’s not a want at this point; it’s a necessity.

“I can feel your eyes on me, Davenport.” She turns, biting her bottom lip, her eyes instantly zeroing in on my hand, palming my dick.

She licks her lips, her eyes don’t move as she slowly takes a step back toward me.

“Don’t even think about it.” I point upstairs. “I’ll meet you there in a minute.”

She waggles her brows, and for the first time in her life, she does what she’s told and ascends back up the steps.

I grab two bottles of water from the kitchen, then I’m sprinting up the stairs to get to my girl.

When I open the door to my bedroom, only the small lamp in the corner provides enough light to see Maddie undressing at the foot of the bed, facing me.

She unclips her bra and lets it drop from her arms, making a show of it. “I’m suddenly feeling wide awake.” Her voice rasps with need.

I drop the bags on the floor, then the water, and begin to strip down as I inch closer to her.

My cock thumps at the sight of her.

Her large, plump breasts, her perfect nipples, and the curve of her hips are more pronounced than ever before. It’s sexy as hell. All I can think about is gripping her there, riding her from behind.

She’s not only my perfect match in life, but the way Maddie fucks is unmatched. We were made for each other in every way possible.

I can feel my pulse throbbing with each piece of clothing she removes. She smiles, and her dimples pop, and out of everything I mentioned, they’re the hottest things about her.

I told her we’d go slow next time, but there’s no way that’s fucking happening tonight. The second her nipples pucker in the air, I know it’s a lost cause. I won’t be able to hold back.

Reaching up, I grab her ponytail, fisting it between my fingers, eliciting a low, tortured groan.

Oh, babe, I know exactly how you feel.

Her eyes roll, softly closing, as her mouth parts and a breathy gasp slips through her lips.

I kiss along her clavicle, up the slender slope of her neck, and hold back a groan at the taste of her skin on my tongue; she’s fucking delicious.

“Nate.” She throws her head back when my tongue peeks out.

“On your back, legs spread wide. Now.”

Her eyes open, and they sparkle with mischief as she leans up on her tippy-toes, so we’re face-to-face. “No.”

“Excuse me?” I growl, then she drops to her knees and licks her lips.

She raises one brow. “You were saying?”

“Shut up, and open your mouth, Goddess.”

“There he is,” she whispers, then flattens her tongue, swiping from my balls to the head of my dick.

My knees buckle at the sensation, and I almost come on the spot. Fuck, she’s hot.

“There, who is?” I breathe.

“My naughty Nate.”

Maddie

I stretch my arms over my head and smile at the delicious soreness that aches through my body. The type of ache that tells the perfect story of a wild night of lovemaking.

“Don’t distract me with that body,” Nate’s deep bravado echoes from across the room.

“Huh?” I frown, looking up over the bed. “Did you already shower? Why didn’t you wait for me?”

He walks back into the bathroom and turns the shower on for me. “You were passed out, you needed sleep.”

“You could have stayed and cuddled me.” I frown. “It would have been nicer to wake up with you than alone in bed.”

“Although that makes me extremely happy, if I did, I wouldn’t have woken up for her.” Nate opens the bedroom door, and Skye comes barreling forward.

She pounces right onto the bed, then snuggles up to me, and instantly rolls over on her for belly rubs.

“Oh, what a sweet angel baby,” I coo in a baby voice. “You’re just the prettiest girl in the whole wide world.”

“Really?” Nate raises a sarcastic brow. “She’s a German Shepherd. She doesn’t do those voices.”

“You love this voice. Don’t you, baby?” I lean in, and she attacks my face with her kisses. “Yes, you do.”

“All right.” He pulls back the covers and picks me up bridal-style, all in one swoop. “Enough of that. We need to leave.”

My arms instinctively wrap around his neck, and my body melts into his broad chest as I lean in, pressing kisses along his chiseled jaw and staring into his beautiful face as he walks me across the room.

Since stepping off that plane yesterday, I haven’t been able to take my eyes off of him, even after he fell asleep.

At some point, I rolled over and stared at him until I couldn’t keep my eyes open any longer. I’ve never been so attracted to someone in my life.

He’s perfect in every way, and the more I spend time with him, the more I realize how much I’ve missed him. But even more, how fortunate I am to have found and fallen in love with a man like Nate.

As a teenager, or even a young adult, I never realized how lucky I was. He’s selfless, thoughtful, and caring beyond words.

It’s something I unknowingly took for granted. I was young, I thought I knew, but not to this extent. Now, as an adult, I realize how incredibly rare it is to have someone who treats you as well as Nate does.

Who looks at you like you’re the only one who matters.

Who would go to no end to make you happy.

I kiss his cheek again because I can, because he deserves my undying love.

It causes him to smile. “You’re very mushy today, Mads.”

“I’m so happy.”

Falling back in love with Nate was easy. It’s always been this way between us.

“Me too, babe.” He quickly gives me a peck and lets me down in front of the shower before checking the water temperature for me.

“Where are we going? I don’t want to leave Skye.”

“Don’t worry, she’s coming with us, you’ll be seeing her a lot more now.

She’s spoiled; neither Leo nor I likes to be far from her.

She normally comes to the office with us when we don’t have full days of meetings.

” Nate massages behind her ear. Clearly, she loves it because she leans so hard into his hand that she falls over from the force onto the floor. “We’re attached.”

“Oh. Why haven’t I seen her there before?”

He looks expressionless. “That would have probably ruined the surprise.”

“Oh.” I chuckle. “True.”

He opens the shower door and ushers me with a playful pat on my behind. “Be quick, we leave in fifteen. I left clothes out for you.”

What the heck?

My eyes rake down my naked body, then back at the door Nate just left through, and I wonder what’s come over him.

I’m naked and wet in the shower…alone.

Of course, I take a speed shower because I’m too curious about where we’re going, and I find everything laid out nicely on the bed.

New contacts, thank God; my eyes are dry as hell. A beautiful, long-sleeved, white, flowy dress—I have no idea where it came from—and a slinky gold bikini. I hold it up against my body, and there’s no doubt Nate picked this out.

My boobs will be lucky to stay in the triangular top if I even hiccup the wrong way.

It’s late fall, and it feels wrong to be wearing this. Last week, I was in boots and tights, but we’re having a significant heat wave this week, which I hope only means one thing.

We’re going on Nate’s boat.

As quickly as possible, I dress and hurry down the stairs, but there’s no sight of Nate or Skye.

“Nathaniel?” I call.

“Out here, babe.”

I turn in circles, no idea where he’s called from; however, it gives me a moment to appreciate the house. It’s gorgeous and exactly what I would expect from a Hamptons house.

The walls are lined with oversized windows with a clear view of the expansive property. All the furniture is in cream and blue tones, and there are many uses of natural wood, such as teak and mahogany.

The dining room table, the coffee table, and even some shelves are made from repurposed wood and reclaimed driftwood.

What I remember from last night, as I climbed the oversized stairs into the bedroom wing, was that the hallway was never-ending, and countless doors were lining the hall.

My nosy self can’t help it; my steps take me further into the house.

I run my hand along the deep-veined marble island, admiring the perfectly designed chef’s kitchen, then walk further toward the doors leading to the backyard.

Peering outside, I see a covered pool the size of my Atlanta apartment.

Kidding. Kind of.

Well-groomed hedges that block the neighbors, not that there would be many nearby. The property looks as if it could be ten, maybe even twenty acres. I can’t tell, but whatever it is, it’s massive.

The beautiful manicured lawns are immaculate, there’s tall beach grass planted around the travertine patio, and a wooden play area with multiple slides and a trampoline for Claud.

And in the near distance, I’m sure I see tennis courts.

“Madeline?” Nate calls.

“I don’t know where you are.”

Skye bounds out from the corridor behind the stairs when she hears my voice. “Come in the direction Skye came from.”

I see it now, there’s a door leading to the garage.

“And I see now why you’re friends with my brother.” My eyes follow the line of luxury cars. The same ones Mason has always obsessed over, even as a kid.
