Liam's pov
I was seeing her documents, and her photo was on top of the sheet.
I traced her face with my finger. I can feel her eyes on me.
Why did I do that mistake back then. What a fool I was back then letting her go.
I saw that she had completed her master's degree in business a year back. Then why didn't she work till now.
'I wish it was her beautiful face I was tracing with my finger not the picture ' my heart said.
'That will happen soon. Till then keep your thoughts to yourself ' I replied back.
Clearing my throat I asked "Why do you need this job Ms. Walker. How can you expect me to hire you when you have no experience, except few internships". I think she expected this question from me, because she replied immediately to it.
"Sir, I need this job because I have to earn money for my living.
I can't accept to live with my parents'money until now.
When I have knowledge and stability to work why not.
Well I don't know why other companies didn't consider me to work with them.
And I didn't get the opportunity to prove myself what I can be capable of.
But I have confidence in myself to do my work completely which will be assigned" she answered confidently by meeting my eyes to show her ability of what she is capable to do.
I think I can take advantage of her confident state now in questioning her my main question running inside my head. I smirked inwardly at my thought.
I nodded my head and asked "Do you have a boyfriend Miss Walker".
"I don't have a ...., hey that's not the question you are supposed to ask me. It's not a professional one" she replied to me by crossing her hands in front of her chest.
Now I smirked at her and placed the file infront of me on the desk and leaned towards the desk by keeping my hands crossed on the desk. "I was checking where is your attention was Miss Walker".
I can see in her eyes that I have started to get her anger out.
'Well you got the answer for your question'
"My attention is here Mr. Collins. I refer to continue this interview" she replied keeping her cool down towards me.
"Alright Miss Walker. Can I ask what have you been doing this one year after your masters completed" I asked her. I saw that her eyes keep moving towards my chest. I smirked inwardly.
Her face started heating up again and her cheeks turned red. I can say what she is thinking. Clearing her throat she replied "I have been working as a waitress in a hotel". She shifted in her seat because I was staring at her intensely.
I nodded my head as taking her answer in.
I smirked at her and pushed the file towards her .
Looking into her eyes I said "Well you will get my responses soon from my secretary.
She will call you for your answers". I got up from the chair and extended my hand for a shake.
She got up from her seat and lifted her hand for a shake.
A sense of electricity passed through out my body.
'I still do feel for her, what has she done to me'.
I held her hand in a firm grip and left.
"Thank you sir". She took the file from the desk and her bag.
As she made her way towards the door. I took my steps towards her as fast as possible and stood behind her.
I think she sensed my presence behind her because she become tensed and her hand in still on the knob of the door. She is frozen in her place. I have to tease her one last time before she leaves.
I bent towards her right ear from behind her and whispered in her ear "Can you please inform Alexis to come to my office, as you pass by" she nodded her head and ran out of the room as soon as possible.
I chuckled at her. 'It's been ages since I felt like this'. I went back to my chair and sat.
My thoughts went back to her. I think my destiny wants to meet My Destiny. I smiled at the thought. This time I will not repeat the mistake I made before. I will leave my ego back this time, it's been seven years since I had seen her. She has become more beautiful now.
My thoughts were stopped when Alexis walked inside my office. What happened to her not knocking the door before coming in. But that didn't bother me. When I saw her, her head is still looking at the hallway she came in.
"What happened to Destiny, because she just walked up to me and replied that you wanted to see me and she didn't even see my face.
She replied a bye and ran off. I just saw her cheeks were red" after completing her talk her turned towards me and let out a small squeak.
Till she complete her talk I was leaning back in the chair and hearing her speak.
'I think she will be like that until she will be out of this building '
She smirked at me and folded her hands in front of her and asked "What did you do with her? I can see now why her cheeks were red. Did you seriously do that with her, that to in your own office?". Why the hell did she think like that.
'Because you are wearing only your pants now' my inner self said.
I think my face heated a little. Why the hell am I blushing, that to when she referred sex as that to you.
Clearing my throat I replied "It's not what you are thinking, get that dirty thoughts out of your head" she pouted at my answer but I continued "Well I am in this condition because of you.
You startled me and I spilled my coffee on the shirt.
I didn't have any spare shirt. So I have to take the interview like this" I completed my speech by crossing my hands infront of my chest.
She started laughing at me. I glared her.
"I really didn't expect this to happen. Don't try to fool me Liam, you could have called me and waited till your new shirt came.
But no, you didn't do that. I can see the gears changing in your mind" she said and I kept quiet, because if I talk now she will find out. I don't want that.
She is like a big sister to me, which I never had. And I don't want to say anything now, till I complete my goal.
I changed my tone to professional and replied "Alexis, can you please order a shirt to me, I can't work like this entire day" I kept my face as serious as possible, so she can't find out what I was thinking.
She narrowed her eyes at me analysing me why I have changed the expression and words towards her.
"You can't fool me, but I will eventually find it out what's in your mind" she stared blankly at me and continued "OK sir, I will make some calls to arrange a new shirt for you" she replied and turned towards the door.
She opened the door but didn't go out. I narrowed my eyes at her.
Still her back facing towards me she said "Sir, I think you will sit like this the whole day, when Destiny will sit with you also" she said and moved out of the door.
But I can hear her laugh even when she closed the door.
I was shocked to her comeback, well she was correct though. I would have sit like that when Destiny would be here with me. I shaked my head and continued the ever lasting work in front of me.
After half an hour, Alexis entered my office by knocking the door, she put some files and a new shirt on the table and excused herself out. I put on the shirt and continued my work.
Now it was evening, close to sunset. I was still working, checking my mails.
My office door burst opened. I lifted my head up to see my best friend Alex Cody Black.
He is the one I mentioned earlier who just enter to my office without knocking the door.
He is my best friend since senior year of high school.
I glared at him as he made his way towards the chair and seated himself comfortably. "How many times do I have say knock before you enter" I said to him and continued my work.
"Hello Liamy" I groaned at his nickname to me "What a warm welcome I get from you" he said sarcastically. I glared at him and asked
"Why are you here Alex?".
"Can't I come and see my best friend, even if he doesn't bother to call me and ask about my whereabouts " he replied and I narrowed my eyes at him.
He continued when I didn't reply "OK, I came here to get your ass up from here to the pub.
So what do you say" he wiggling his eyebrows.
I stared at him blankly for a minute and replied 'no'. I continued my work.
I heared him groaning "Why can't you come out with me just for once.
Just leave all the work and come" I glared at him for that sentence.
He ignored my glare and continued "OK. Don't come.
Atleast can you cook me your delicious spaghetti to me, to your beloved best friend.
It's been ages I didn't eat your cooking.
If you don't accept I will start whining here" saying that he started whining.
His whines are worse than the new baby born child. I ignored him.
He didn't stop, continued for five minutes.
I couldn't take it anymore and replied "OK you win, now stop whining.
I can't listen to that anymore. First we have to make a quick stop at grocery store to pick some items".
Saying that I got up from the chair and went towards the door.
He followed behind me grinning from ear to ear.
I made my way towards the elevator but stopped thinking that I didn't say anything about choosing the assistant to Alexis. I have to inform her who I have in my mind.
I started moving towards Alexis desk and called her name, Alex was still behind me following like a lost puppy.
"Alexis call Miss Walker, the last candidate who I interviewed today and say she has been selected.
You can inform her the details of the company.
She should be present here on Monday at exact 9 am " I informed her.
She stood when I called her name and heard what I said. I was surprised hearing her answer "Well sir, I have already called and informed Destiny about the details of the company. You can expect her on Monday morning in your office" while answering me she was smirking.
I cleared my throat and asked her in low voice "How did you know I was choosing her" I didn't want to say it aloud because the idiot behind me will surely question me.
"That's for me to know and you to find out. And bye sir, have good Sunday tomorrow" saying that she continued her work. I stared at her dumbfounded.
Not asking any further questions I made my way towards the elevator and waited for it. I was still in a daze that I forgot Alex was behind me, and asked a question which I didn't want him to ask me.
"Who is Destiny Liam?"
I was so excited to post this, so I posted it as soon as I wrote it.
