Chapter 44
Liam's pov
Today is Saturday, as usual I have come to work. But Destiny is not here today. She went to her parents town early this morning as she want to help Ava, I was there when she talked to Ava yesterday.
Ava said she was the matching for the bone marrow transplant.
And her brother is undergoing the surgery tomorrow.
Destiny asked me for today's leave for being there with her friend.
I agreed and said I will join. She didn't want me to come, because I have to look after the company.
I argued with her for coming. But she suggested to come on Sunday.
I agreed with her and in return she gave me a kiss.
As I said I agreed with her on one condition. My driver will drive her there in my car. She agreed. I asked driver to stay there and help her if she needs anything or if she wanted to go anywhere.
But I am missing her now. I think about the shoot day, it was interesting. I have transferred the photos to my laptop in my house and hid the chip in my office. I loved every photo of it.
When I asked my mother, why she wanted these type of picture. She said, she had made a agreement with one of the dressing company and they requested her making these photos. She took the right opportunity of making us involved in that.
I am waiting for tomorrow to meet Destiny. My thoughts were cut off when I heard a knock on my office door. I said 'come in'. Alexis walked in with few files.
"Sir, these few files need your signature" she said handing me the files. I took it and started seeing it. I gestured her to sit as I complete the files.
"How is life going" she asked.
"I can say best" I said signing up the file.
"What about you. How is your son and husband"
"We are good, but I have to say. After Destiny has arrived, I am spending a lot of time with my family because the work load has been less. I am happy" she smiled saying that.
"Well it is good" I smiled at her and continued looking and signing the files.
"So what is the progress between you and Destiny. I have not seen her in few days to ask her. She has stopped coming to lunch with us" she asked.
"She has been busy, and today she took the leave. I think she told you" she replied with 'yes' "She is my girlfriend now, that is the progress" I said looking up at her. Her eyes were widened in shock.
"When did this happen, and why I am only hearing this now" she asked literally shouting.
"It's only been one week. I haven't told anyone except my family" I said looking down at the file.
"I mean, I should have known. I wouldn't miss anything about you. I can read you easily" she mumbled.
"Then I think I have become good, since you failed at that" I said smirking at her. She rolled her eyes.
"Thank God Destiny is here to look after this big Liam baby now. I was stressed looking after you" she smirked saying that. I glared at her.
After few minutes, I returned the file to her and she left.
In lunch I called Destiny, she picked up after few rings.
"Hello princess, what are you doing" I asked as I turned around in my chair to see the view.
"Hey, I was just spending time with my family" she replied.
"Did you visited Ava and her brother"
"Yeah, Ava was happy seeing me" she said excitedly "And her brother is okay. Did you have your lunch" she asked.
"Yes, I just finished" I said.
We talked about her family, how they were doing. She did mention me that, she has a sister and brother. She talked about her nephew. She looked happy being with her family.
"Today I told my parents, I have a boyfriend" she said.
"Really. How did they react" I asked.
"It was good, I can say" she answered doubtfully "My mom thought I was lesbian" she said not believing herself. I chuckled "I mean come on, if I didn't have a boyfriend before makes me a lesbian" she released a sign and continued "She can be over dramatic sometimes. But she was happy about it".
"I know mothers can be over dramatic, even my mother asked if I was gay" she laughed hearing me.
"So what about your dad, what did he say" I asked.
"He didn't take well. He was angry, I didn't tell him before. Then my mom threatened that if he doesn't calm down, he will have to sleep on the couch rest of his life" we both laughed at that "He calmed down immediately and talked to me about it".
"So I will not have to see a gun to my head when I come there because I am dating you" I asked playfully.
"No you don't" she laughed "OK bye, see you tomorrow. I have to go the hospital now" she said.
"OK bye, and miss me" I heard her chuckle before she hung up.
I looked down at my lock screen. It was her photo, she was leaning against the railing with closed eyes.
It was from the date night, when I came back from placing the plates inside.
I saw her there, she was looking like a angel.
I took a picture without her knowing and put it on my lock screen.
I smiled at the screen and whispered "I love you".
"Woah I didn't expect that" I heard a voice behind me. I instantly turned around to see Alex sitting on the chair across me. His face was in shock. I closed my eyes to control my angry.
"How many times I have to tell you that knock before you come" I said grinding my teeth.
"Did you just say 'I love you'. When did this happen" he asked again ignoring my anger. I ignored him and started working.
"You can't ignore me Liam" he said.
"Then answer my question Alex" I asked.
"When have I ever knocked. You are my best friend" he said rolling his eyes "Now answer my question" he said crossing his arms.
"Why do you want to know. It's not like you are dating someone to understand. And when did you come here and what did you hear" I said.
"I came here when you said something about gun in your head. For your information, just few days back I went on a date" he said painfully. I raised an eyebrow at his face.
"Looks like it didn't end well"
"You can say that, I did ask her out. But I was thinking about someone else and ended the date in the middle. And in return she gave me a good slap" he said like remembering it. I laughed out loud.
"I think you deserve it. But who is this someone you were thinking" I asked even though I know who it is.
"It's someone" he shook his head and continued "I think this is happening because I didn't get laid for weeks. So can we hit the club today, I will pick up a girl. And you can sit and think about your love" he said wiggling his eyebrows.
"I don't have time for these things. I have better work than that" I said.
"Come on man, it's been long time since we have hangout together" he whined.
"Why don't you go and trouble someone else" I said continued my work.
"Okay I will go alone today. Can we go somewhere tomorrow, I am bored" he said.
"I can't come tomorrow" I said.
"And why is that" he asked raising his eyebrows.
"Because I am going to meet Destiny in her hometown. And we have to visit hospital after that" I said.
"Why do you have to go to the hospital" he asked furrowing his eyebrows. I looked at him confused.
"You don't know" he shook his head "Ava's brother is in hospital suffering from leukemia, and Ava is with him for a week now" I said. He stood up pushing his chair back in force.
"What!" he shouted. Looks like he didn't know anything.
"I thought Ava told you because you were her friend" I said. He ran his fingers through his hair.
"And I think you also don't know this. Ava's brother is undergoing surgery tomorrow for bone marrow transplant. And Ava is the match" I told.
"Fuck. When did this happen and why was I not aware of it" he said sitting back in his chair.
"His brother was admitted before we went to the aquarium. From last sunday his condition was becoming weak and now he needs a surgery" I said. He rubbed his hand on his face and said.
"Fuck. She had been calling me this whole week. And I fucking ignored it" he banged my table with his hand standing up and dashed out of the room closing the door more forcefully in a bang. I looked at the door blinking my eyes.
Next day, I woke up early and got ready. I ran my fingers through few times in my hair and went down towards the kitchen. I saw a figure sitting in my dining table drinking something in a cup.
"What are you doing here so early" I asked as I went into the kitchen. I saw my mother making something with Melissa.
"Good morning" I said kissing their cheeks. They greeted back smiling at me.
"I thought about coming with you" Alex said coming with the cup in his hand.
"Why do you want to come" I asked.
"Here is your coffee" my mother said. I took it.
"Because" Alex said shrugging his shoulders. I went towards the dinning table and sat there drinking my coffee.
My father entered the dining room and greeted me.
"Good morning son. So you ready to go"
"Good morning. Yeah"
My mother entered with a bag in her hand and placed it on the table.
"Me and Melissa made some pie for everyone this morning. Take it with you and give it to Destiny and Ava" she said sitting next to my father. Melissa came with a tray of two cups and gave them to my parents. They thanked her.
I said them I was going to see Destiny yesterday and told about Ava.
Alex came in with a plate of pie.
"Did you come here to eat for free or what" I narrowed my eyes at him.
"Shut up. It's stress eating" he said taking a large bite. I turned towards my parents and said.
"I got to go. See you soon" I said getting up taking the bag. I went outside and took my new BMW X5 car keys. I sat in it, placed the bag at the back seat and started the car. I saw Alex running towards my car and quickly sat in the passenger seat breathing heavily. I started driving out.
"You should have waited for me, I was eating" he said after calming down.
"I didn't say you to eat. And why did want to come. You would have gone in your car" I asked.
"If I knew where she was, I wouldn't have to come with you. I would have gone yesterday"
"You could have called her and asked the address" I asked and looked at him. He turned his head towards the window and mumbled.
"I couldn't call her after I didn't receive her any calls" he said. I looked back at the road.
"And why didn't you pick her calls" I asked. He remained silent not answering.
"Okay don't answer. Atleast did you get laid yesterday night as you said" I asked teasing him.
"How can I think about getting laid, when I am only thinking about is Ava" he shouted frustrated at me. His eyes widened at his statement and immediately turned towards the window looking out in deep thought. I smirked.
Throughout the ride he was silent. First time in my life, I enjoyed my car ride with him.
