Chapter 67
Destiny's pov
They pushed Liam on the stretcher inside the emergency room closing the door. They said us to wait outside.
I leaned against the wall and looked at my hands. It was covered in Liam's blood. Even my shirt was covered in his blood. Tears has not stopped running down my face.
Ava came towards me and put her hand my shoulder. A sob left from my mouth and soon I started sobbing hard. She hugged me tightly rubbing my back. I hugged her back and cried on her shoulder. Alex came beside us and caressed my shoulder.
"Everything will be okay" Ava said.
I didn't even think this day would come.
Something happening to my love. A gunshot on him, seeing him weak made my heart weak.
Though the gun was pointed at me, he took the bullet instead of me.
As he said, he will always be for you. He proved that.
From the scene to the hospital he was in and out from his unconsciousness.
I tried to speak with him, but he wouldn't speak back.
Ava pulled us to the chairs and made me sit.
She sat beside me. Alex stood leaning against the wall.
We waited around this silent place. After half an hour, I have stopped crying.
I heard footsteps coming towards me. I looked up and saw my parents coming our way.
I stood up and ran towards them and hugged my dad.
He caressed my hair whispering sweet things as I started to cry again.
I pulled away from him and hugged my mom.
"How did you guys know I was here" I asked pulling away from her.
"I called them on the way to the hospital" Ava said behind me. I turned towards her.
"Thank you" I said. We all sat on the chair. I remembered something.
"Shit, I didn't call Lily and James. They don't know anything about this" I said in worry.
"Don't worry, I informed them. They are already on their private jet to come here" Alex said.
I waited for doctors to open the door and let me in to see my Liam. But they didn't. We waited for hours.
After complete three hours, the door to emergency room opened. We all stood up seeing the doctors coming out. Only one doctor stayed back.
"Can we know about the condition of the patient inside" my dad asked.
"Sorry for the inconvenience, but who are you to patient" doctor asked.
"I am Dr. Walker, the patient inside is my son. So can we know his condition" my dad said, he looked irritated. The doctor nod his head.
"We have removed the bullet from his back.
Thank God the bullet was not deep. If it was, it would have caused a lot problem" my heart stopped a beat "We also checked his head.
Someone had hit him hard. And this caused the operation a little difficult.
There was a variation in his vitals while performing the operation" the doctor paused and looked at us.
"He might fall in coma" my world crashed hearing that.
I held on my necklace tightly "Only forty percent of chances for falling him in coma.
We can't assure you he might wake up. It's in his hands to wake up.
We will try our best to bring him back. We will shift him to a room after an half hour.
Only one person at a time is allowed. Till then please be in the waiting room.
Also this case will be under cops" doctor said walking away. My dad went following him to talk.
I fell on the chair as tears welled in my eyes. Everyone was shocked about his condition.
"He will be alright" Alex whispered. I don't know if he said for us or for himself. He suddenly dashed out towards the exit. Ava ran behind him calling his name. I cried putting my hands on my head leaning on my legs. My mom sat beside me and consoled me.
I heard footsteps coming towards us. I didn't look up.
"Where is Liam, how is my son" I heard Lily's voice. I looked up at her. Lily and James were standing infront of us. I opened my mouth to talk but nothing came out. My mom explained instead of me.
"Oh God" Lily gasped and started crying. James consoled her, along with wiping his own tears.
They shifted Liam to a room. I let Lily and James to go first. When James came out the room. It was my turn to go.
I walked into the room and opened the door.
There he was, lying on the bed with a bandage across his head.
There was a heart machine connected to him.
They have even put IV drip to his hand. I walked towards his bed and stood beside him.
I can see the bandage peeking out at his right back. I caressed his head and cheek.
"Wake up Liam, you can't leave me like this" I said as tears fell down my face. I sat on the chair beside him and held his free hand. I kissed his palm.
"You have to wake up. You said, you won't leave me. But here you are, on this bed not waking up. Come to me" I cried. I just sat there looking at his face. Someone entered the room. It was a nurse.
"Sweetie, times up. Let others in as well" she said. I nod my head and got up. I kissed his head and went out. I saw Alex waiting outside. He went in.
"Why don't you go home and take some rest" Lily said coming towards me. My dad and James were talking. I looked at Liam's room.
"I don't want to go. I don't want to leave him" I said. She held my arm and smiled at me sadly.
"We will be here when you come back. And you have to clean yourself up. When Alex come back, go with him" Lily said. I waited for him as I sat with mom. When Alex came back, he took me to his car. Ava also came with us.
We reached home and went inside. The lights were back now.
As I entered the living room, I saw blood on the floor.
It must be Liam's, due to dark we didn't see it.
I went to our room and took a shower. I put on the clothes and sat on the bed.
It's four in the morning. I called Mellisa and informed what happened.
She was worried and was about to come. I calmed her and told her to come in the morning.
I don't want to rest. I want to go to the hospital, and be with Liam.
So I went downstairs taking my things. I entered living room and saw both Alex and Ava were sleeping.
Both of them were cuddled on the couch. I didn't want to disturb them, so I wrote a message to them and hailed a cab.
Even though it took ten minutes I waited.
I reached the hospital in fifteen minutes and went towards Liam's room. I saw both mine and Liam's parents were sleeping on the chair in the waiting room. I woke them up and sent everyone home to take rest. I didn't sleep.
In the morning a nurse came and said to go inside. I went inside Liam's room and saw him. He looked same when I visited few hours back. Everyone came and visited Liam. Mellisa, Sophia were sad seeing Liam like this. We all hoped for good.
It's already evening. And still Liam is not awake. Doctor said he didn't fall into coma, which was refill for everyone. And everyone are waiting for him to wake up.
I had a nap when everyone was visiting. Ava scolded me for leaving like that in the morning. I sat beside Liam and talked with him. I don't know whether he can hear me or not.
"You know when I saw you at your office after seven years, I thought you were still arrogant jerk like back" I chuckled looking at our joined hands "Back then you were giving me hard time until I spoke to you.
You don't know I was liking that a lot. And that's why I liked you" I caressed his hand with my thumb.
"I didn't know, knowing you more would change my perspective about you. Even though you didn't mean to do it back then what you did. But I would always remember you. Loving you now showed me a new world to me. That new world is you" I smiled to myself.
"Everytime you say sweet things to me, my heart flatters. I really like to be with you, in your arms. I love it when you tease me. I have say, when you asked me for the first date. I was scared to give you a chance. But I don't regret it now. I think this is the best decision I took"
"I have observed so much about you. You like to cook for me.
You like you give flowers for me. You have done everything I asked for.
I haven't seen you say no for a single thing.
If you don't know how to express yourself, you starts to ramble and get nervous at the same time.
You like to see me smile. And you really love me from your heart and you said your heart beats fast when I say 'I love you' " as I said that, the heart beep machine starts beating aloudly.
I stood up in shock as I looked back at him.
"You can hear me" I whispered "Come on Liam wake up. I know you can hear me. I love you" as I said again, the beep machine made a loud sound. I felt a twitch in my hand. I looked down to see Liam's fingers were moving.
"Come on Liam, open your eyes" I said looking at him. He opened his eyes slowly blinking them few times. I pressed the button to the call room.
"Liam is waking up. I need the doctor" I said. Liam opened his eyes and looked around. He saw me and whispered "Princess".
"Yes, I am here" I said grabbing his hand tightly. The door opened, doctor and a nurse came in.
"Ma'am I want you to step out for a minute. We will check on him" doctor said. I nod my head and left him. As I went out, I called Lily and said Liam is awake. They said they are coming over. I hung up and doctor came out.
"He is perfectly fine. He wants complete rest. I suggest you to don't put much pressure on his head.
And you can go in now" he said. I nod my head going in.
Now Liam was sitting leaning on the pillow.
And nurse injected him something on his arm.
I went towards him and grabbed his hand as I saw him hiss in pain.
"I have given the pain refill injection. I suggest you to rest" nurse said going out.
"Can I have some water" Liam asked. I took the glass from the table and filled it with water. I bought it to his lips to drink. He drank half of it. I pulled away and placed it back and looked at him
"You are awake, I was so worried about you" I said kissing his cheek.
"Didn't I say I won't leave you" he said caressing my hand. He pointed his finger to his lips. I looked at him confused. He sighed.
"I want a kiss on my lips, not on my cheek like a middle school" he said. I laughed and kissed his lips. I pulled away and caressed his cheek.
"I love you. I won't leave your side ever" I said looking in his eyes. His eyes shined brightly.
"I love you too" he said smiling at me. I pecked his lips.
