You are only permitted to see me(11)

After some time, the three of them reached home.

By then, Rajvendra already knew everything-and so did the rest of the family. The entire hall was tense. Everyone was pacing restlessly, worry clearly etched on their faces.

Just then-

Atharva, Maya, and Veer entered.

The moment they stepped inside, everyone rushed toward them.

Suman (anxiously, cupping their faces one by one):

"Are you three okay? You're not hurt anywhere, right? No bullet injuries?"

As she spoke, she quickly checked each of them with trembling hands.

Atharva (calm but firm):

"We're fine, Maa. There's no need to worry."

Before the tension could settle, Rajvendra stormed toward Veer, anger blazing in his eyes.

Rajvendra (furious):

"You know very well what kind of work we do... and how many enemies we have! Even then, what was the need to go there so late at night? You didn't just risk your life-you put Maya's life in danger too!"

Then he shouted-

"Answer me!"

Except for Atharva, everyone visibly flinched.

Rajvendra (voice rising even more):

"Didn't you hear me? Answer!"

Veer stood there silently, head and eyes lowered, jaw tight but lips sealed.

Rajvendra took another angry step toward him.

And just then-

Maya suddenly moved forward and stood in front of Veer.

Maya (steady but respectful):

"Papaji... I was the one who forced Veer to go."

Atharva's head tilted slightly toward Maya, his sharp eyes narrowing just a fraction.

Everyone else's gaze also snapped toward her.

Rajvendra (stunned, frowning):

"What? Why?"

Maya (honest, voice soft but clear):

"I wanted to see the bike racing. Veer was refusing... but I forced him to take me. So whatever punishment you want to give-give it to me."

Rajvendra's face hardened further.

Rajvendra (angrily):

"Do you even realize that-"

Atharva (cutting in coldly):

"I will not hear a single word against my wife."

The room fell into sudden silence.

Rajvendra turned sharply toward him.

Rajvendra:

"And what your wife did... was that right?"

Atharva's eyes turned dangerously calm.

Atharva (low and final):

"Not. A. Word."

For a long moment, Rajvendra stared at him, fury and disbelief clashing in his expression.

Then his gaze shifted to Maya-who still stood there with her head lowered.

With a sharp exhale of anger, Rajvendra turned and walked away.

The tension in the room remained thick.

Suman (shocked and disapproving):

"Is this how you speak to your father...?"

Saying that, Suman also walked away.

Dhruv and Nidhi stepped forward and came to stand beside Veer, silent support in their presence.

Maya looked toward Veer, guilt heavy in her eyes.

Maya (softly):

"I am sorry, Veer... because of me, you-"

Before she could finish-

Atharva suddenly lifted Maya into his arms right in front of everyone.

The sudden movement stole the air from the room.

Atharva (cold, cutting):

"First save yourself from punishment... then offer sympathy to others."

And just like that, carrying Maya in his arms, he walked away without another glance.

Veer immediately hurried after them.

Veer (calling out):

"Bhai-!"

But Atharva didn't stop. Didn't even slow down.

He just kept walking.

Veer halted midway, frustration and worry mixing on his face.

Veer (running a hand through his hair, tense):

"Yaar... it wasn't even her fault. Bhai was already very angry there... what if he-"

Dhruv placed a reassuring hand on his shoulder.

Dhruv (calmly):

"He won't hurt her. Don't stress for nothing. Come on-go change your clothes."

Nidhi nodded gently.

Nidhi:

"Yes, Veer. Get some rest too."

Veer looked at both of them for a moment, jaw tight.

Then, with an annoyed stomp of his foot, he turned and walked off. Dhruv followed behind him.

-

On the other side...

Atharva carried Maya into the bedroom and finally set her down on the bed.

Then he sat down in front of her.

And just... stared.

The silence between them was heavy. Dangerous.

Maya kept her head lowered, fingers nervously twisting in her lap.

Maya (guilty, voice small):

"I didn't know all this would happen... otherwise I-"

Atharva (sharp, controlled):

"Why did you lie to me, biwi?"

Maya slowly lifted her eyes toward him.

Maya (hesitant):

"I... I thought you would refuse..."

Atharva's jaw tightened.

Atharva (voice turning colder):

"So you lied? I hate lies. I despise them. And the one thing I hate... you did exactly that."

Maya (soft, shaken):

"Atharva..."

Atharva (suddenly louder):

"What?"

Maya flinched slightly, his tone making her shoulders stiffen.

Maya (stammering):

"I... I really had no idea that-"

Before she could finish-

Atharva grabbed her shoulder firmly and pulled her toward him in one sharp motion.

Atharva (low, intense):

"If I hadn't sent Rana to keep an eye on you... do you even realize you could have died tonight?"

Maya's breathing quickened instantly.

Her chest rose and fell unevenly.

Atharva's gaze dropped-to her eyes... then slowly to her lips.

Dark. Assessing. Possessive.

Atharva (dangerously quiet):

"Don't stay silent like this... or it won't be good for you."

Maya's fingers trembled.

Maya (barely above a whisper):

"I am sorry..."

Atharva held her gaze for a long second.

Then his hand moved-sliding into her hair from behind, gripping gently but firmly as he pulled her face closer to his.

Their breaths nearly mingled.

Atharva (low, probing):

"How do I believe... that you really feel sorry? Hmm?"

Maya's eyes softened with genuine remorse.

Maya (quiet, sincere):"I truly realize my mistake..."

Atharva moved even closer to her, his gaze dropping slowly to her lips.

Atharva (low, dangerous):

"These lips lied to me... they deserve punishment."

The moment the words left his mouth, he captured Maya's lips.

This time, the kiss wasn't gentle.

It was harsh. Demanding.

He kissed her roughly, biting her lips in between. Maya's fingers instinctively fisted into his shirt, clutching tightly. But Atharva only grew more relentless, his teeth grazing and pressing harder against her soft lips.

A muffled cry escaped Maya, but with her lips trapped under his, nothing came out except a broken hum.

Her breathing started to falter.

Now Maya couldn't breathe properly. Panic flickered across her face as she began tapping repeatedly against Atharva's back, trying to push him away. She turned her face side to side, struggling for space-but everything failed.

Atharva had no intention of letting her go.

Finally, desperate-

Maya bit down hard on his lower lip.

Atharva jerked slightly and pulled back.

Maya immediately sucked in sharp breaths, chest heaving, fingers trembling as she touched her lips... where a faint trace of blood had begun to appear.

She looked up at Atharva.

He was touching his own lip, eyes dark and fixed on her.

Maya stood up (breathing hard, angry):

"Have you lost your mind? What were you doing? I couldn't even breathe properly... and you just wouldn't stop!"

Atharva's eyes narrowed.

He slowly rose from the bed and stepped toward her, then bent slightly so they were face to face.

Atharva (cold):"What was the reason for standing up for Veer?"

Maya blinked, stunned.

Maya:"What?"

Atharva took another slow step toward her.

Atharva:"Do you feel something about him?"

Maya instinctively stepped back.

Maya (shocked):"What... what nonsense are you saying? Why would I feel anything for him?"

Atharva kept advancing.

Atharva (voice tightening):"Then why did you protect him in front of everyone?"

Maya's back hit the wall.

She looked up at him-his eyes blazing with anger.

Maya (frustrated):

"Atharva, have you lost it? Why would I feel that way for him? It was my mistake, that's why I said it. And he is family to me. So I just told the truth.."

Atharva (sharp, possessive):

"No. You only have permission to think about me... only me. Not anyone else."

Maya stared into his eyes.

They looked dangerous. Unstable.

Maya (hesitant):

"At... Atharva... he's your brother. Are you seriously this jealous-"

Before she could finish-

Atharva suddenly twisted her wrists and pulled her flush against his chest, gripping her waist.

Atharva (low, intense):"Not jealousy...But I own you."

He leaned closer, voice dropping to a dark whisper.

Atharva:

"Your body... your eyes... the way you look at others... your breaths... your thoughts... everything. Only I have a right over them. No one else. No one."

As he spoke, his grip tightened further.

Maya winced.

Maya (pained):"Ath... Atharva, you're hurting me..."

Atharva's eyes flashed.

Atharva (dark):"I haven't even started yet. How so soon?"

He twisted her wrists more.

Maya squeezed her eyes shut.

Maya:"Ahh... Atharva..."

Atharva (commanding):

"Look at me, Maya. Keep your eyes only on me... or else-"

His grip tightened again.

Maya forced her eyes open and looked at him.

Atharva's breathing was heavy now, jaw tight with barely controlled anger.

Atharva (intense, voice rising):

"You still haven't seen my anger, have you? I am always trying to understand you... only you. But why can't you understand that I can't tolerate you even looking at someone else?"

His voice suddenly thundered.

Atharva:"Why, Maya?! Why?!"

Maya met his gaze, hurt flashing through her eyes.

Maya:"Then why did you give me permission to go with him? If you had so much problem?"

Atharva stared at her for a beat.

Then his fingers suddenly pinched harshly at her waist, pulling her closer.

Atharva (rough, low):"Because you were happy. Only for that smile of yours... I said okay."

His grip tightened even more.

Maya gasped.

Maya:"Ahh! You're hurting me again it's paining ath-"

Atharva leaned closer, their chests now pressed firmly together.

Atharva (dangerously quiet):

"But you wanted to sit on that bike, hmm? How close were you sitting to him?"

He pulled her even closer.

Atharva:"This close? Was your chest touching his back?"

Disgust flashed across Maya's face.

Maya (cold, shaken):"I feel disgusted looking at you... at this filthy thinking of yours. How cheap your thoughts are."

Atharva's eyes hardened further.

Atharva (low, dangerous):

"Mine? And what you did was right?"

Maya (steady but hurt):"I didn't do anything wrong. There was distance between us... neither he crossed his limit, nor did I."

Atharva's jaw tightened dangerously.

Atharva (cold, accusing):"You were holding his shirt... tightly. I saw it. Just an inch's distance was left between the two of you...

The next second, he exploded.

Atharva (shouting):"Fuck! Why did you, Maya?!"

Maya just stood there silently, staring at him.

She genuinely didn't understand why Atharva was reacting so violently. Yes, he was possessive - she knew that - but this... this was something else. Something darker.

Atharva started advancing toward her again-

Knock. Knock.

The sharp sound froze the air.

Atharva shut his eyes for a brief second, controlling himself, then strode to the door and yanked it open.

Veer and Dhruv stood outside.

Veer first looked at Atharva... then his eyes shifted to Maya, noticing her lowered head and stiff posture. Concern flashed across his face.

Veer (carefully):"Bhai... please don't be angry at her. She was just-"

Atharva snapped.

Atharva (furious):"Get lost, Veer!"

Both Veer and Dhruv instinctively stepped back.

Veer's eyes flickered once more toward Maya, who still stood there quietly, head lowered.

Atharva's voice turned even colder.

Atharva:"What did I say?"

That was enough.

Without another word, Veer and Dhruv turned and walked away. Atharva slammed the main door shut and locked it with a sharp click.

-

Inside the lift.

Veer ran a frustrated hand through his hair.

Veer (muttering angrily):

"What the hell has gotten into bhai? Why is he overreacting so much? What was bhabhi's fault in all this? She was helping me... and he's just-"

His jaw clenched.

Veer:"She was already scared... she literally fainted there... and here he just knows how to show anger. What is he even this angry about? Everyone listens to him, fine... but what's the need to show it every single time?"

Dhruv stood quietly, watching him.

Veer kept muttering under his breath as they reached the room. He pushed the door open and walked in, still visibly worked up. Dhruv followed.

A moment later, Dhruv grabbed Veer's arm and turned him around.

Dhruv (serious):"What's wrong with you, bhai?"

Veer scoffed.

Veer:"What's wrong with me? Didn't you see how bhai reacted? She was already terrified... she fainted there... and here bhai is just-"

Dhruv cut him off sharply.

Dhruv:"Veer. Why do you care this much?"

Veer froze for a second.

Dhruv continued, eyes searching his face.

Dhruv:"I know what's happening with her is wrong. But why are you overreacting? They're a couple, whatever's between them is their thing... and we went to talk to him, bro was so angry... did you see? Now what's the point of stressing over it unnecessarily."

Veer shot him a look, then quickly looked away.

Veer (defensive):"I'm not overreacting.I am just worried."

Dhruv stepped directly in front of him.

Dhruv (firm, low):"Listen, bhai... don't complicate things. She is bhabhi, okay? And most importantly - bhai's wife. So stop whatever this is."

Veer frowned.

Veer:"What am I even doing? She helped me, that's why I care. And you're talking like... like...I like her."

Dhruv immediately raised his hands slightly.

Dhruv:"I didn't say that, Veer."

For a brief second, the two brothers just stared at each other.

The tension was thick.Veer broke eye contact first.

Veer (irritated):"You've messed up my head. Talking nonsense."

He turned and walked straight into the bathroom, slamming the door shut and locking it.

Dhruv moved forward quickly.

Dhruv (knocking):"Veer! Come out-"

But the door didn't open.
