Epilogue
Two years later
Zora
The roar of the crowd is deafening, but I barely hear it. My eyes are locked on the track. On my husband.
Jax’s car cuts through the final turn with precision, fast and controlled, like he was born for this. As if this is exactly where he’s meant to be. My heart pounds in rhythm with the race, my fingers tightening slightly around Levi’s small hand as he bounces beside me, his excitement spilling over.
“Daddy!” he shouts, pointing toward the track, his voice full of pride.
I smile, brushing my hand over his soft curls. “Yeah, baby…that’s Daddy.”
It’s been two years since everything almost fell apart. And now, I have this life. This family. My free hand drifts unconsciously to my stomach. A soft breath leaves me as something warm moves through me. I haven’t told Jax yet. I wanted to wait. Wanted this moment to be perfect.
And somehow, it already is.
As Jax crosses the finish line, the crowd erupts. The sound crashes over me as I let out a breath I didn’t realize I was holding. He did it. Again. Levi cheers loudly beside me, clapping his tiny hands. I laugh softly, pulling him closer as I press a kiss to his head.
“We should go find him.”
“Daddy!” he repeats excitedly.
“Yeah,” I smile. “Let’s go get Daddy.”
As we make our way down to the track, memories hit me in flashes, blending with the present like they’ve always belonged here.
The night everything changed. The confrontation at his parents’ house.
Jax went in first. He didn’t take my hand.
He put me behind him, and Sienna came in behind us both and shut the door like she was sealing something in.
I don’t remember most of what was said. I remember Eleanor’s face when she understood that Sienna was on our side of the room and not hers.
I remember that Jax never raised his voice once, and that it was somehow worse.
And I remember Walter—his father—standing up out of his chair in the middle of it, and everyone stopping, because in thirty years I don’t think anyone in that family had ever seen him interrupt her.
Walter had been the one none of us expected. Shock, anger, and then something softer, something almost regretful. He had admitted that he saw himself in Jax, a younger version forced into a life he never truly wanted. And for the first time, he chose differently.
He chose his son. The company had gone to Sienna, just like Jax said it would. And she thrived, balancing home and work life expertly. Exactly who she was meant to be, despite everything their mother had once insisted.
And Eleanor. I exhale softly at the thought.
She didn’t change overnight. She didn’t apologize, either.
Not in words. What she did was stop. She keeps her distance sometimes.
Still controlled. Still sharp in ways that don’t fully disappear, but she tries.
And with Levi…she’s different. Softer. Warmer.
Like somewhere along the way, she let herself feel something she hadn’t allowed before.
It took me a year to be able to hand him to her. She never once asked me to do it faster. Maybe that’s the apology.
Family. Something I never thought I’d have. Something I fought for and almost lost. But I didn’t. Because of him. Jax’s attorneys had handled everything faster than I expected.
They found my mother. She signed what they put in front of her. I don’t know what it cost him, and he’s never told me.
And when the news came months later that she had died, I waited to feel something.
Grief. Anger. The thing you’re supposed to feel.
It never came. She wrote he’s yours now on a piece of paper and left him in a box, and eighteen months later, a court made it true.
That’s the whole of what she ever gave either of us.
Levi is mine. Ours. Officially. Forever.

Jax
The race ends in a blur of sound and movement. People talking. Congratulating. Cameras flashing, but my focus is already somewhere else. On her. My wife.
I spot her before she reaches me, Levi in her arms, both of them looking like they belong right here. Right at the center of everything that matters.
“Daddy!” Levi shouts the second he sees me, reaching out.
I laugh, scooping him up easily, holding him close for a second before pressing a quick kiss to his head. “Hey, little man. You see that?”
He nods eagerly. “Fast!”
“Yeah,” I grin. “Really fast.”
Then my eyes shift to her. And everything else fades. Awareness and love are all I feel.
“Hey, baby girl,” I say, softer now.
“Hey,” she replies, her smile just as soft, but there’s something else there too. Something I can’t quite place.
I step closer, my free hand settling at her waist, pulling her in just slightly. “You okay?”
She nods. “I’m perfect.”
I study her for a second, then lean in, brushing my lips lightly against hers. “Missed you out there.”
“I know,” she murmurs, her hand sliding up to my chest.
Levi squirms slightly between us, and I laugh, shifting him before handing him off to my dad, who steps up beside us.
“Got him,” he says easily, already distracting Levi with something that makes him giggle.
“Thanks,” I reply, my attention already back on Zora.
“Come here,” I murmur, taking her hand and leading her toward my trailer, away from the noise, the crowd, everything else.
The door shuts behind us, and the silence is immediate. Just us.
“You were incredible,” she says, stepping closer.
I shake my head slightly, my hand coming up to brush along her cheek. “I was distracted.”
“By what?”
“You.”
Her breath catches slightly, a small smile tugging at her lips. “Good distraction?”
“The best one.”
She laughs softly, but then her expression shifts again, that same something from earlier coming back.
“What is it?” I ask quietly.
She steps closer, her hands sliding up to rest against my chest, her eyes locking onto mine. “I was going to wait…but I can’t.”
My brows pull together slightly. “Wait for what?”
She leans in, her lips brushing my ear, her voice soft, almost a whisper. “I’m pregnant.”
Everything stops. My heart. My thoughts. Time.
“What?” I breathe, pulling back slightly to look at her, searching her face.
She smiles, softer now. “You’re going to be a dad again.”
Something goes through me so hard that I have to put a hand on the wall.
“Zora…” I let out a breath that turns into a laugh, my hands sliding to her waist as I pull her closer. “Are you serious?”
She nods, her eyes shining. “Yeah.”
I don’t even think. I just kiss her. Hard and passionately. Full of everything I can’t put into words.
When I pull back, I’m still smiling like an idiot, my forehead resting against hers. “That’s…that’s incredible.”
“I know,” she whispers.
And just like that, the world around us fades into the background.
“I want you,” I whisper against her lips.
“Okay, Daddy,” she whispers.
The air is charged, and I can feel the heat radiating off her as I pull her close again. “You have no idea how happy you’ve made me.” I grin, brushing my lips against her neck, breathing in her sweet scent.
“Jax,” she whispers, her breath shaky, and it sends a thrill through me.
I capture her lips again, deeper this time, pouring all my emotions into the kiss. My hands find her hips, fingers digging in as I lift her slightly, and she wraps her legs around me. I walk us backward until her back hits the wall, and I push against her, claiming her as mine.
Every kiss ignites a fire inside me, and I’m lost in the taste of her, the way she melts against me.
“We have to be quiet…” she breathes between kisses, but the urgency building within me drowns out the caution.
“Quiet can wait,” I reply, pulling back just enough to look into her eyes. “I need you, Zora. I need this.”
Her expression softens, and that’s all the encouragement I need. I reach down, lifting her higher, and she instinctively wraps her legs tighter around me. I carry her to the small bedroom in the trailer, my mouth never leaving hers.
When I set her down on the bed, she looks up at me, a mix of desire and something deeper in her gaze. I climb on top of her, my body pressing into hers as I capture her lips again. I want to memorize every moment, every sound she makes.
“Let me show you how much you mean to me,” I say against her mouth, and I can see her breathing hitch.
I slide my hands under her shirt, brushing against her soft skin, and she arches into my touch. I take my time, tracing the curves of her body, savoring every reaction. I want to take my time with her, all night if she’ll let me.
“Daddy,” she murmurs, her voice thick with need, and it goes through me like it always does.
“You want me inside you,” I whisper, my lips trailing down her neck, over her collarbone, feeling the tremors of her body beneath me.
“Yes! I want you. I want all of you,” she breathes, and her words ignite something primal in me.
I pull back just enough to strip off her shirt and jeans. I take mine off too. Then I climb back over her, my cock jerking at the look into her eyes. Undeniable hunger. I suck her lower lip, then kiss her, taking my time with her mouth.
My mouth moves on its own, gliding down warm skin, leaving a trail she arches into. I trap a nipple between my tongue and the roof of my mouth, sucking hard and reveling in her soft whimpers of need.
I shift to the other, doing the same. Then I trail kisses down to her flat tummy, knowing what’s in there now.
“You’re mine,” I murmur before sliding down between her parted thighs.
I part her with my thumbs, taking in how swollen she is. How wet. She lets out a low moan, and her thighs start to tremble.
Her fingers grip my hair as she pleads, “P-please…”
I close my lips over her nub and suck. She jerks hard and whimpers, “Oh God…”
I grip her thighs and suck harder. I lick and slide my tongue into her pussy, drawing keening noises out of her until she’s trembling hard beneath me. Then, I slide two fingers inside her, stroking once, then twice. She combusts, her walls clamping hard on my fingers.
I don’t waste time. I slide off her, turn her over, and pull her up until she’s on her hands and knees, right at the edge of the bed. I fist my cock and slide deep. Zora moans loudly, sending shivers along my spine.
I’m not in control. Not anymore. But I stop anyway, buried deep, my hand flat on the small of her back—because it isn’t just her in here now, and that lands on me all at once.
She looks back at me over her shoulder. “Don’t you dare.”
“Zora—”
“I’m pregnant, not breakable.” She pushes back onto me, all the way, and my grip on her hip goes hard enough to bruise. “Move.”
.
I withdraw and thrust deeper, and we both gasp at the sensation. The warmth envelops me, and I feel our connection deepen. I move slowly at first, wanting to savor every moment, every inch of our shared pleasure.
“Christ, Zora,” I rasp, my voice strained.
“More, Jax,” she begs, her body arching toward me.
I stop thinking. I pick up the pace, landing a soft, rhythmic spank with every stroke. Her moans become my beacon, sinking into my skin like water and heightening my need to explode. With every clamp and grip of her pussy walls, I lose more control.
And before long, I’m slamming harder and faster into her. Her moans are loud, throaty whimpers now as she grips the sheets for dear life. “Daddy, I-I n-need…”
“I know, baby girl,” I say roughly as I lose myself in her.
The way she moves against me, the sound of her loud whimpers, is intoxicating. I grip her hips tighter, driving deeper, feeling every ounce of pleasure radiate between us. Zora is a trembling mess as she meets each of my thrusts.
I change angles slightly, hitting that spot that makes her gasp louder, and I can feel her tightening around me.
“D-don’t stop, Daddy!” she cries out, her fingers digging into the bed.
I reach down, cupping her breast, teasing her nipple between my fingers, and she cries out, her body responding eagerly. Then, I slide my hand to her clit, circling the tight bud as I whisper, “Let go for me, Zora.”
“Daddy!” she shouts, and, in that moment, I feel her shatter beneath me.
Her body convulses, and she tightens around me. The sound she makes is still in my ears as I plunge deeper, chasing my own release. And then it takes me under.
I ease out of her slowly and slide to the side, pulling her into my arms. Our hearts race in tandem as I hold her close. We lie there in a tangle of limbs, our bodies still humming from the intensity of it all. I look down at her, a radiant smile gracing her lips.
I lean in to press a small kiss, then I pull back, staring at her just as she does the same.
Seconds later, I shake my head slightly, still trying to process it, too full for everything hitting me at once. “We’re really doing this.”
“We already are,” she says softly.
I glance toward the door for a second, where I know Levi is just outside, then back at her. “Our family,” I murmur.
My hand slides gently along her side, pulling her closer again, my lips brushing hers slower this time, softer, but just as full of everything I feel. And in that moment, I know. There’s nothing else I want. Nothing else I need. Just them.
Forever.
